That's the beauty of a game that doesn't tell you how to play it and gives you several methods to accomplish leveling. There isn't one "right" way.

I guess if you wanna sit there and shoot into a cave and call that "fun," go for it. I just don't want to hear that you don't like the game because you aren't getting good loot dropping from it.

I also just have a hard time with people spending $60 to do that. I mean, really? I am not going to tell anyone how to spend their money, but, well, I don't think I should or need to comment any further on that.

You got that Crucible HC from a drop?! Gah! Though I shouldn't be surprised since I picked up The Devil You Know via an engram (Cryptarch rank-up gift) yesterday as well.

Still, I would've been dancing if I had snagged that bad boy.
I'm actually kinda upset. I already have Thorn, so the last thing I needed was a hand cannon, let alone 2. After a week of being level 24 with no legendary items though, I'll take what I can get lol.

Also, I wish they had better exotic weapons that you could get via bounties. Already have Thorn and Super Good Advice, and I recently had the option to do a third, but there was no weapon I wanted. Bad juju apparently sucks, and I don't use the shotgun at all (not even in PvP). Ended up just getting the shotgun one for shits and giggles

I would argue that the grimoire cards that are already in game for planets that are not in game are pretty solid evidence that they're going to add new planets. I understand you don't have an MMO background, but for those of that do, we've all been here done that, and we know how MMOs evolve over the years. So it is neither surprising nor noteworthy that Destiny is lacking content at launch.

Just look at the Queens bounties for the DLC. All on the current planet/zone set. New planets/zones will most likely be fleshed out in annual major expansions/destiny2,3. I hope to be proven wrong, but I just don't have a good feeling about it.

edit:
We already know Mercury and Saturn are coming.

Whoa, missed this. Do you remember the source?

anyone that started the game recently or anyone willing to play some story mode (or whatever that is?) in co-op? On PS4.

I just started and did the first 3 missions, I'm level 3. doing these missions alone is kind of meh

People who can't get into the raid based on their gear not being good enough but are tired of strikes want to see progression, the cave is a solid answer since you actually grind it way less than just about anything else.

Queen's Wrath is an event, not an expansion.

...I'm not asking for sim levels of realism, but your ship ACTUALLY looks like a car putting on its brakes when you exit hyperspace. It's goofy as fuck.
I guess you know what ships exiting hyperspace should behave like? I'll cut them some slack there.

In other news, was on the moon when a public event hit but I was the only guardian to respond to it. Got the gold stars but, man, it was lonely. I like the events much better when there's a bunch of guardians and enemies going at it.

Destiny 2 or 3? Huh? The Grimoire is for Destiny. Do you see a World of Warcraft 2? If there is a Destiny 2, it's going to be 8-10 years from now. Welcome to an MMO. Seriously, just go to bungie.net and look at your Grimoire under Places -> Planets. You can already see Mercury, Jupiter, and Saturn.

Anyway, whatever. Guess you'll just have to wait and see, but among people who are accustomed to playing MMOs, it's like discussing whether the sky is blue, or whether you can drink water.

Holy hell...
So I decide to try out the skywatch cave, and in 20 minutes I get 4 blue engrams, a purple, and a ton of greens. End up getting Lord High Fixer (legendary hand cannon), the Last Word (exotic hand cannon), and a bunch of cash and the like. In 20 minutes.... I didn't get that much after an hour of level 24 strikes

Whats the skywatch cave? Where can I find it?

Ey CCP this game isnt an MMO and Bungie arent going to add in free planets to explore lol.

Id rather gave them focussing on fixing more important issues with the game.

With an achievement for reaching Vanguard rank 3, and having played the Crucible for a little while during the leveling process, I'm near rank 1 in Crucible...

I wonder if it's even worth trying to get Dead Orbit reputation? (I'm a Warlock and Disc/Strength fits my playstyle best, since I tend to horde my Super and rely heavily on my melee during PVP... grenades are an obvious for why Discipline is crucial.)

Is there any reason to raise any of the factions, for that matter? Shouldn't everybody just try to max Vanguard/Crucible, since that's where the majority of their rep will be by the time they hit the initial level cap?

For all the complaining about "braindead" farmers or whatever, you spend a lot less time for your purple/exotic gear than doing Vanguard Tiger for marks or insane objectives from Exotic bounties. I'm about to crack 26 from, maybe, 2 hours of farming across a whole weekend.

Your mileage may vary. Pay your tithe to RNGesus.

The cave really is just a player answer to a broken loot system. You have the worst players in pve and even pvp getting rewarded because luck. Meanwhile you bust your ass in strikes, manage to see some blues and then they're downgrades? It's frustrating.

I'm sure they will add planets, but I have a feeling it won't be with the expansion. I will have to pay extra in the future.

Cool man, just started up a new character (level 8 Titan) because I was getting tired of my high level Hunter on my PS4.

It'll take me a little while to level up (although not much as I am just going to farm XP to skip the stuff I did at the beginning of the game originally). Let's link up once I catch up.

Sure no problem.

So we are going to have to buy this planet right? Do you think Bungie will release this for free Ghaleon?

I'll be shocked if it's anything other than a paid expansion.

I'm interested to see the amount of content in the first two expansions. For $20, I'm surprised they are set on the same planets. Hopefully that does not mean a new destination/planet costs more.

Ugh. That with the glitches and lag will make tonight soooo much fun.

Maybe there hope they fixed that too? When are you good for tonight?
A friend cleared some bounties for me during lunch, but I don't know how many are left. I'm going to try and hop on around 5CST and clear the rest. Will be ready by 7 hopefully. Realized tonight is the last night to do it so I'm all in to get it done.

That Titan Shield damage stacking sounds interesting.

So basically a pretty solid chance at legendaries? I would be up for that. Is it impossible for a 26?

Yeah, and a decent chance at an Exotic.

For 26 you're gonna have a hard time with the first section of the Strike, especially dealing with all the Wizards and the Arc shielded Knights. Void Burn is active so Void weapons work well. I suggest having someone who's dedicated to dropping Knight shields and then someone else can mop them up with Void weapons. As for the Wizards, use Gjallarhorn if you got it, or a Solar Heavy then mop them up with Void after.

After that it's pretty easy if you follow this: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8ymOMHLxxGo

Yes for 20 dollars a piece (retail) those expansions should be really meaty, but I have a feeling there won't be as much content.
