Anyone want to help me with a queen mission on ps4? It's the gate lord one. Lvl 24 but even at 27 I'm getting 2 shot. B-Dex on PSN.

Level 25 Titan. The only legendary armor I had was a chest plate. Now I have a weaker legendary chest plate. Thanks, Queen! Your wrath has been felt.

Take a deep breath. Buy stuff from vanguard/ crucible vendors. Don't count on engrams, if you get lucky - great. Again, buy all the legendary stuff.

People seem to be forgetting that you can buy all the high end stuff-- if you are gonna do something stupid like the loot cave, why not just increase your vanguard marks?

alpha: it's only one story mission and two maps, guys. wait till the beta.
beta: it's only 5 story missions, 4 maps and 3 classes. wait till the full game
full game: there's more, wait till the dlc
The vast majority never played the Alpha and Beta, and haven't even come close to going through all the content in Destiny yet. It's a big game. Those who have finished the raid already have definitely put a ton of hours into the game, can't expect it to have enough content to be played like a full-time job for a month.

I have also put tons of hours into it but actual locations and variety is little. How about make game where i haven't done same strike for a 100th time just because i have to grind out reputation.
This event is do same missions with difficulty modifiers.
Gameplay is saving grace of this game.
Seriously if I have to fight Phogoth one more damn time I'm going to scream. I got that strike 4 TIMES in a row, beat it every time and my rep barely even moved. I don't feel like doing the same damn patrol missions over and over again either. They need to make the reward for these strikes better. 14 rep for a strike is just disrespectful especially when it takes you forever to beat it because your teammates are idiots and just constantly run out in the open like there the damn Terminator or something.

Sweet, just got a legendary helmet for my Warlock for completing the Queen's story challenge. Not sure if it's a guaranteed drop or not, but still I'm happy. One more piece of legendary armour and I'm all decked out in purple/exotic gear. :)

finally a good looking legendary chest from the queen. too bad my chest piece is already an exotic with upgrades i actually need...

(blacksmith shader btw)

Most of that was spent shooting into a cave so not sure it's really quality time well spent.
I am at around 30 hours and didn't do a single farm.... A lot of strikes though. Baffles my mind that it is accepted that people enjoy railing a single map in CS for years but can't understand that someone enjoys doing those strikes over and over again.

I'll help I just did one solo and got some legendary chest armor. Queen's Guard Robes, wonder if you only get one reward a day. Probably...

No offense but it took you until you saw that to figure out that Bungie cut things from the game? Devs cut stuff from every game. Destiny isn't a static experience. It's not meant to just be what it was when it came out two weeks ago. Alot of the things that were cut will eventually make into the game.

There's a difference between cutting things because of time constraints, and deliberately cutting things to sell back to you.

We already saw Kings Watch, Seraphims Vault, and Joyuese Complex. Kings Watch had full unit sets around the map, and even still has Ghost locations. And yet, they're not accessible in the game without glitching into it. And you're right, it's not meant to be what it was two weeks ago. All we got are a couple of cut playlists for PvP for only 3 days a week, and a bunch of more bounties that don't add anything new other than gear.

was referring to quality not quantity

Right, so people have no right to complain about the failure of Bungie to deliver on their promises, pre-release and even after release ("We're only just getting started")? Please man, that's not how consumerism works.

I enjoy the core gameplay, which is why I'm still playing, but the problem lies in Bungie underdelivering on what they tell/told people.
More than enough reviews were available to make yourself an image of what you are getting. There is no excuse. If you couldn't wait 2 more days for reviews well than that tells me something about you and not about the game.

Yeah, we know dudebro, move on. It's getting tiresome.

"Mimimimi.... I played 80 hours in 2 weeks and am now level 28, did the raid and have nothing to do. What a horrible game."

"After friggin whole 2 weeks there is still no new content available. Bungie you suck."

Is this a joke or something? It's borderline embarrassing to read.

People were probably hoping for a series of new missions, even if they were just the same recycled single player maps with different respawns. A new map would have been pretty cool though, and I don't think it was completely unreasonable.

Currently playing PVE mostly means repeating the same story missions again and again (complete with unskipable cutscenes), the four or five patrol mission types, and the six strikes. Not only the content is repetitive, you actually outlevel it pretty fast (RNGesus be praised) and then there is nothing else for you to do.

If Bungie were able to do some kind of meatly update in a semi-weekly basis the game could have legs. If this is the best they can do until the December expansion, there is little reason to play the game until then if you don't like PVP.

This post doesn't make any sense to me. Why would people be complaining about a lack of content for an alpha?

I can't remember if people were complaining about amount of content in the alpha. But I can certainly remember criticism getting shut down with the "it's only alpha" defense.

And then again in the beta "it's only beta"

Jovian Complex is going to be a raid or a strike in DLC, we already know that much. The other two will likely be part of DLC story missions. Is it frustrating not being able to go to those areas? Sure, but at the same time, I've put almost 45 hours into this game and knowing that there's still some new areas coming is something to look forward to (whether they're free or not). I can understand people being upset that content was cut, but I guess I set my expectations accordingly after playing the Alpha & Beta.

Can't speak for anyone but myself but Multi-player and pve content are entirely different beasts. Multi-player has the dynamic aspect.

Lol, right, so it's me (and thousands of other people mind you) for falling for Bungie's false promises. There are plenty of things Bungie said about the game that nowhere near describe what it really is. There were no reviews to go off on you know that. I would have bought it regardless, and the only thing that says is that I am very well capable of forming my own damn opinion, thank you very much.

Pretty much correct. I don't bother though because that keeps me occupied for 2 hours a day at least and I always make some progress with my gear. This is a perfect game for someone working normal hours. We knew that Destiny wouldn't be an MMO, so why are people expecting one?

Jovian Complex....isn't going to be a strike or a raid. It's a pretty small building. Unless you mean Seraphims Vault?

Also

I can understand people being upset that content was cut, but I guess I set my expectations accordingly after playing the Alpha & Beta.

You knew they were going to cut these areas? You don't say. I don't have a problem with the repetitiveness of the game, if that's what you're getting at. So my expectations were set at alpha/beta in terms of gameplay.

And then again in the beta "it's only beta"

It was concern over the amount of content being shown vs rumored 'final' amount of content... and was obviously well placed concern considering the final.

Reading some more recent posts in this thread has been kind of eye opening for me. Some people are REALLY defending the amount of 'content' in the game? I was coming from the opinion that it was quite obvious the amount of 'content' is lacking, but you could still make something of it and have some fun with friends and such...

Seeing as those areas were also in the alpha/beta. I think that normal thing would be to expect those places to actually be in the release version of the game. Even all the die hard Destiny defenders were expecting that. Those areas were afterall getting used constantly as defense when we found out that the game would only have 4 zones.

I'm going to assume that you're not suffering from lag.

Despite the fact that Destiny, in some ways, caters quite a lot to weaker players, there is still an enormous gap between the best and worst players. It's not that surprising that your results vary quite a bit, I find much the same. Sometimes you're against better opposition, sometimes you're supported by worse players. It makes a big difference.

Other than that, are you using the right weapons in the right ways? There are many weapons that are outright crap in PvP, and many weapons which are only good on certain maps.

No. Only two things are ignored - attack and defense ratings on weapons and armor respectively. Everything else matters. Survivability is affected by Armor and Recovery, which are seen in your subclass.

Are you using a weapon with low impact (this relates to the damage per round)?
Also, I don't think anyone is killing you in two shots. Sometimes shots that land in quick succession feel like a single shot.

The fusion rifle is the big risk weapon. Some fusion rifles are far easier to use than others, so experiment, but you need to pick your moments. If someone is too close or too far away it becomes very hard to do them in, and if you miss with a fusion rifle you're often done. You have to be hitting with almost every part of the burst to get a kill. One trick is to aim low, because the burst tends to go upwards.

So basically, you feel the hunter is underpowered relative to the warlock?

I'd say a few things. First, while the Warlock's Nova Bomb is extremely strong, the hunter's supers are the only ones which will consistently and in a vast range of scenarios get you multi-kills. The Nova Bomb is so extremely situational (the same goes for the Fist of Havoc) because you want people to bunch up, whereas the golden gun and blade dancer will rip through groups of people who are potentially spread apart.

It sounds like you are overly cautious when it comes to using your super, which doesn't make sense with the hunter's super. Go into an area with multiple enemies, pop it, and be aggressive: you have a one hit kill, so you don't need to exercise caution with movement.

The hunter's other super is frankly even more effective, and is the only super which can realistically net four, or five kills with remote consistency. With the right perks selected in the subclass, it becomes unbelievably hard to kill a bladedancer, especially to kill them before they get a kill.

One last general tip. You have various things about your character, as well as your own skillset, which dictate what types of fight you are and aren't suited to. Don't go into the wrong type of fight. I never use shotguns, preferring the sniper, and play as a warlock. I'm not suited to close range engagements in confined areas. So I try to ensure I'm not in them. Be part of the fights you are suited to, and try not to get caught in the other ones. The radar is hugely helpful for this.

Thx for your input. I mostly use Auto Rifles and I had best results with Shingen-C (have yet to find E version). I used Cydonia AR3 on my Warlock, but I switched to Shingen (haven't ventured into PVP with it yet).

I guess the best advice you have given me is to stick with the battles I can win. Thinking about it, I often find myself stumbling into territory with 2,3, even 4 enemy combatants and get wasted easily. I'm also mid range fighter, so I guess I should stick to that.

No. Only two things are ignored - attack and defense ratings on weapons and armor respectively. Everything else matters. Survivability is affected by Armor and Recovery, which are seen in your subclass.

I guess this was my biggest issue. I had almost no armor/recovery improvements unlocked (or perhaps only 1 skill) so I guess I was a pretty easy target.

True, but in PvE I am only playing together with others and not against them - which is pretty much what I want as I don't have the time to hone my skills in order to be able to compete. If Bungie adds mandatory chat this will be the perfect game for me.

Man I really needed a primary weapon upgrade from my blue so then I got a legendary scout rifle and today an exotic scout rifle. Fucking hell I don't like scout rifles!

I woke up early, hopped on to do bounties. Friend threw me an invite and said 'hey dude, we're down one, let's raid'.

Sure why not, we can open the gate and maybe clear the first part of templar.

Nope.

I'm done with the raid and the weekly nightfall now O_O

On to Queen's stuff I guess.

This right here.
I didn't work much in the first week it came out but now that I am back in a busy work schedule, I can really appreciate how I can do pretty much everything in the game without ever feeling like I need to dedicate 20+ hours a week to it. It's quite refreshing.

Sweet. More things to do (although repetitive). Anyone know if Queens Favor can contribute to the factions rank as well? And will it ruin my chances getting the Queens Strike?

I think if you wear your faction item it will convert to faction rep. No one has said it doesn't yet.

What if Dark Below turns out to be more moon missions in the same areas we have already played in?

pls no

I hope not, but probably will be like that.

I actually have enjoyed my time with Destiny quite alot, probably the most fun I have had in a long time with any game, but there are really stupid design choices they have made and those are starting to make me not want to play it anymore.

Thanks who to whoever I just ran the two strikes with. I couldn't hear the EU guy, which I assume the West guy was talking to the entire time. :P

It depends on how much time you're able to pour into the game. Between an actual job, and life, a few hours per day is all most people can play. Destiny is imo really well designed for these people (such as me), because nothing (except the raid I guess) takes a long time and the best way to progress is doing bounties which will not take much time each day. Just yesterday I played like 3 MP maps for the first time, some strikes I've only done once.. and to be honest replaying stuff is extremely fun in this game to me. The combat and level design is fantastic imo.
