It really really does feel kind of random whether or not you make the jump right or not. However, I pulled a really awesome Top Gun on some guy in PvP the other day. Dude was right behind me chasing me down, and I stopped real quick and blinked backward. Landed right behind him and mowed him down while he tried to figure out where I went. (I should have taken a Polaroid)
Two amazing things in one post, I salute you good sir.

The problem I could see with that method is that you don't have as much time in the second portal as you do the first. And one person is carrying the shield, so you've got one super with the shield so the other person has to be carrying a lot of heavy ammo, but it's definitely worth a shot.

Yeah it's true, definitely would need to send the best in (so I'll stay comfortably on the sync plate lol), Those damn minotaurs kept wiping us last night and there's too many to do alone, dunno what it's like defending the sync plate at that part since I spent most of the time trying to keep them away from the conflux.

But hopefully after the Queen's mats giveaway today everyone's a higher level and better geared.

Yeah. Ok, no big deal if you can't get on tonight. There's enough time in the week to get it done a couple times at least if we know what to do and where to go.

Well tomorrow I should be able to do another 5 hour stint, so if we do as good as last night it should still only take two nights to get finished. Like I said to toda, we've got the labyrinth and Templar down pretty good.

I don't think Bungie knows what the hell they're doing.

You'd think if they made it this easy to get legendary gear as opposed to fixing the loot system to make it more fair (perhaps by making legendary engrams rarer but guaranteeing purple or gold items). But nope, everyone and their dogs get legendary gear while folks raid to get even more legendary gear that's only a few points better in stats.

Usually, when a tier of gear is made easy to get, there's usually another, higher tier to offset the easiness that's more difficult to obtain.

Dammit.

I agree that raid hear is typically of much higher quality when compared to "dungeon" gear and that it is kinda odd that the raid armor isn't significantly better. But slightly better armor and primary weapons with elemental damage on them seems like a fairly nice bump if taken together no?

Also was it ever really "hard" to get legendary gear? This is the start of our 3rd week and if you planned your rep/marks accordingly you could easily be kitted out and past 25. If you've been playing a semi-reasonable amount you also probably have or had enough coins to buy an exotic piece from Xur and maybe a weapon too.

I feel like this event is a nice way to give people access to some gear or at least some shards. Being shard starved myself I don't really see that as a bad thing. Also we have lots of people praising the raid overall, it's probably in Bungie's best interest to try and get people up to the level where they at least try it.

Normally I'm kinda snobbish and turn my nose up at "welfare" gear but this seems like a cool event in spirit. It will hopefully get people away from the cave or the chest routes to earn some sure thing drops.

Can random people join your fire team to play queens wrath? Can they get the loot without bothering with the bounties to get tickets?

Need 2 more people:

I'm putting together a group for Nightfall and then the Raid, hopefully starting tonight around 5:00 Central.

Lvl 27-28 preferred, but 26 is fine if we need the players.

PSN is Rogo. PM here, or send a friend request on PSN.

Nope, I'm packing full legendaries and a pile of exotics and the sum total of my engram legendaries is: 2.

They did, however, provide me with coins, motes, and ascendant materials, which I turned into exotics, more exotics, and leveled legendaries and exotics.

Again. Missing the point. Its nice that everyone has their stuff now - but at the same time, its just made the entire progression system that bungie laid out even more of a clusterfuck.

They make it so performance has nothing to do with drops
They make it level 5 goons essentially more valuable than level 24 strike bosses
They make rep grinding a huge hurdle - then go and cap the currency tied to each rep
Then gate post-20 gameplay based on itemization entirely

Then they turn around and give away 1 legendary per bounty?

I'm not upset that people are getting what they want. I'm upset that Bungie is either making it up as they go or just don't give a fuck. None of it makes sense at all.

So I'm only 21, does that effectively eliminate me from doing the new Queen missions? I can still do the bounties though. Was really looking forward to doing new missions.

Yeah, I think breaking down the queens junk to upgrade shards will help us all out. I'm very close to level 28.

But other than that I think everyone needs legendary and exotic weapons. Blues just don't really cut it even if they're fully upgraded.

It would be very hard. If you can gain a level or two though then it's a nice easy route to some legendary gear so you may as well level up some blue light armor and take a run at it.

Probably, but they aren't new missions. Just sending you to a random story mission with an 'Epic' modifier on.

Edit: Btw, thanks to silenthill1979 for joining up for the Queen's modified The Garden's Spire on Mars. Psion Ultras are the ultimate pain in the ass.

So all these materials I spent several hours farming is possibly useless. I fucking hate this game.

Not sure why it was potentially useless. Isn't that how gear progression works in MMOs? You get better gear to help you clear harder content, and from the harder content you get even better gear which replaces the gear you already farmed for.

If I already have a full set of legendary/exotic armor, is there any benefit to me doing the Queen's bounties? Is the gear you get any better than standard legendary gear? And do you still get some kind of rep for doing them? Like Vanguard rep?

Sounds good, i'll be available all evenings this week EST. I don't even know who you are though, lol. I don't remember a comet in our group.

Jarek23. Just add me next time you jump on PSN.

I will gladly take my welfare shards, just like I took my welfare sands in FFXIV.

No, the rep all goes to a new queen faction(that seems to sell...a bunch of garbage?), but you should still do the bounties/missions to get legendaries to break apart. They aren't any better than whatever legendary you would have now, though.

Best spinmetal farming route?

Also is this easy legendary stuff just about queens bounties?

Edit Also do the queens missions ever give weapons?

You can dismantle the gear for ascendant shards.

It's not the gear I farmed for, it's the materials used to upgrade them. Unless the raid gear also uses helium filaments, these 150+ filaments I spent so much time farming is almost useless now.

do we know what the patch notes are?

Summary:
The latest patch for Destiny reduces the difficulty of a number of activities, as well as fixes issues when completing the Vault of Glass.

Activities

Missions
Shrine of Oryx: Reduced difficulty by removing majors from Heroic tiers
Sword of Crota: Reduced difficulty by removing majors from Heroic tiers
Exclusion Zone: Reduced difficulty by removing majors from Heroic tiers

Raids
Dropping the relic at the end of the raid will no longer result in a team wipe. This will prevent players being stuck at a black screen after the raid
You will remain dead if you were dead when the mission ended. That will be addressed by a future patch

Armor
Hunter armor purchased from FWC has been changed to use the correct upgrade materials

VERY easy shards!

Randoms can join you but unless they have a Mission ticket for a completed bounty they get no loot. Trust me, I tried, 3 times.
