The rewards for the queen's wrath event really feels like a "make good": someone at bungie noticed that there weren't enough people doing the raid and the nightfall strikes, so at the last minute they swapped the mission and vendor rewards to get more legendaries out into circulation while they work on a more thorough overhaul of the loot system.

It makes no sense otherwise to grind rep for weapons that aren't any better than what most people at 24 probably have already.

I noticed this as well. The gear you get from the event kinda blows compared to things you can buy or get from the raid. The only use I'm getting out of them is legendary mats.
 
played some queens wrath last night and got some good stuff. Decided to log off and my buddy was gonna do one cave run.

Ended up with Hawkmoon.

As much as I enjoy PvP in this game, I haven't touched it with dedication since I started raiding. I don't even pick up the Crucible bounties anymore.

I do well in crucible and enjoy it enough, but its just draining to play because you always have to be on your toes. I usually play 3-5 matches at a time before going back to PvE.
 
Honest question to people who are still playing this. What makes you want to play it? I mean story, lvl design, MMO elements and all that I see it as subjective. So if you guys love it, thats fine. But the fucking loot system. BIGGEST things about this game, and which makes you want to keep playing is a complete garbage. I have no words to describe this, but I am so fucking frustrated man. That legendary engram shit happened to me again last night. I got two legendart engrams and both were green items.


After spending countless time completing strikes you get zero shit after you kill the boss. I am seriously giving up, until Bungie fix this. Did they even say anything about the loot system after launch?
 
I got the exotic bounty for bad juju.. Anyone have an efficient way to tackle that 25 strike completed requirement?

It's a grind no matter how you do it. I suppose if you have a friend who is also doing it you can take turns in joining each other near the end of said Strikes. That way you'd only be doing half the work

Titan shield need a buff for pve

Hunters have invis for stealthy revives

Warlocks have self ress with fireborn

And Titan has a shield that is almost useless for difficult strikes
 
He had the drop on them in an enclosed area which is pretty much what the super is for. Titan smash or the Warlocks grenade would have had a similar result there.


What did the bladedancer accomplish that a nova bomb or Titan Smash couldnt? They were all in an enclosed area and could easily be taken down by any offensive super.

I think people are complaining about the bladedancer a lot because it makes you feel helpless while the other two just kill you. It feels worse to be danced to death than smashed to within an instant....

All these statements make me think that you have not played with the other classes because you cannot get that amount of range or time out of Fist of Havoc or Nova Bomb
 
I'll add you. That time is fine. I'll screw around and try to get some relic irons for armor upgrades until you're ready. Maybe that'll get me from level 26 to 27.

I was reading that you can jump down to a big stone wall under the cliff and walk behind it, then have a couple people stand on each end and kill off the ads while dpsing the boss. Third guy just positions himself in the middle of the wall (behind it) and revives people on the corners.
 
Is the Nightfall still the Nexus boss? Is it possible to solo with a Level 27? Thanks.
This is the easiest Nightfall we've had by far IMO.. But I would never ever recommend someone do a Nightfall mission solo.

Obviously it's more fun with others, doing it legitimately, but if you just want the 9 strange coins this works well.
 
But in that situation, you risk being killed at the entrance by the guy there and even if you win that gun fight, the three defending the zone would probably take you out before your super popped. If not them, then the 4th that's farther away (I've killed a number of Titans that I was just out of range of their smash). Which again is my point. Arc Blade gives you the tactical advantage of effectively letting you aim your super around an area and gives you the shield to facilitate that safely, while the others require people to be tightly grouped for multi kills. Even the Shield example there requires people to come to him/her for kills. I agree that is kind of OP for actually capturing a point, but kills are what actually matter in Control.

For what it's worth I tend to think the bladedancer special should actually require 2 hits to kill leaving it as a sped up melee, currently I do this anyway since melee hits can be really unreliable for me with the lag. There is also one particular perk that I take issue with which is hungering blade, I don't use it since it feels too powerful to regain health with each kill. At the same time though it really doesn't bother me being torn up by it or any other special. The only time I grew extremely frustrated with a special was playing against a clearly organised group in capture with three defenders locking down all capture points.

I haven't player the other sub classes for Warlock or Titan yet but I have all three above 20. I just find all supers to be extremely powerful in the context they work best in.

Yeah, this is an interesting phenomenon. I mean, I DO think it's probably an OP super. I'm not going to pretend I'm a paragon of PvP balance knowledge, but I generally agree that it seems way more versatile than the other supers.

That said, I do suspect that this is amplified by the fact that it just feels worse to be killed by it than the other supers. When I get killed by a titan or warlock super, it just feels like "Oh, they used their get out of jail free card on me, fair enough." It doesn't feel like a fight, it feels like they used their ability to opt out of a fight (which is fine with me, I don't mind the concept of supers in a game like this). Bladedancers don't feel the same way, somehow. The game feels like it's telling you you're supposed to still be "fighting", but there is no way you're going to win that fight, barring the same sort of miracle that lets you kill a titan mid-smash. So it just ends up making you feel like a shitty player more than the other supers do.

Is #3 confirmed to be true? Does the rank really affect decryption?

It doesn't (as far as I know), but you do get legendary engrams for leveling him up (sometimes, at least. I think it varies. I got a unique that way though!)

It's just so much fun to actually shoot shit! Bungie nailed the guns down. Among that, there a ton of daily activities do and things to collect. I'm always finding new goals for myself. Trust me, I've had some really bad luck with this game but then every now and then Destiny throws you a bone and you get something awesome. Bungie has a lot to improve on, but the base game is amazing.

Also, I've never seen anything murder time more than Destiny. I sit down to play at 6 and before I know realize it's 1.

I noticed that all the purchasable gear starts at 18. The one legendary I got through decyption started at 18 also. Is that the current base?
 
I keep getting disconnected when playing PVP. Does anyone have the same problem?

It is the only game I have trouble playing online and it's pissing me off, especially when I am winning and close to victory. It's my connection? or the shitty Bungie servers? I really don't understand.

God I am fucking close to throw the game out the window.
 
His stock's not related to level; it just means that if he ever does sell rares/legendaries, you need to be (I think) level 2/3 to buy them.

Oh weird. Mine is at level 6 and, at best, I see him sell a few blues. I assumed leveling him up would make his stock better. So is there really any point in leveling the Cryptarch past 3?

So glad these Queen bounties are dropping legendaries. Got myself a new Sniper called The Supremacy and a new legendary Ship. On top of that I've been getting the chest piece and helm a few times which is a blessing since I can break that shit down and get 2-3 shards a piece.

Now I'm light 29 and about halfway to 30, I'm guessing I'll need more raid pieces to get there since all my legendary gear is max and I have a raid chest and exotic gauntlets which are +30 light.

Oh yeah, I don't even get frustrated at super kills anymore. They are so largely out of my control 90% of the time that I can't even be mad about it lol.

I play it because it's like crack. There are some well-documented flaws, including the loot system, but there are also guaranteed ways to level up. Hawkian can hook you up with his guide. I followed it and am much happier for doing so. Hawkian is basically enabling my Destiny-fueled drug habit at this point. That bastard ;)

It is, its fucking awesome. Love the gameplay and everything but the loot is so frustrating and I find it discouraging. And sometimes I feel like they want me not to play it, its that bad.

But yeah I agree with that you saying. It kills time and fun. Hopefully they fix the core issues soon.
 
Yes, all crucible today with one exception (kill 3 devil walkers).

Actually, its 2 crucible (headshots with hand cannon, sniper rifle) and 3 PvE (200 fallen headshots, relics from fallen, and 3 devil walkers). Might be different for different regions, but I have no idea why.
 
Totally agree. If they introduce a mode with no supers it's all I'll play.

Why though? Supers aren't even bad. The only one ive complained about is blade dancer cuz hes pretty much invincible. Me and 2 other team mates focused our fire on one the other day and still didn't take him down before he cut us to bits. The other supers are fine... and fun IMO. I laugh when I get Titan smashed then proceed to Nova bomb his ass once my warlock super is ready. Might as well just go play halo without the supers, it would be the same thing.

Stop counting on strikes to get you geared up for raid gear. Do the daily bounties and equip your faction of choice and get the marks necessary to buy the gear. If you do the weekly strike you get 3 strange coins between regular play and that you will have the 13 necessary coins to buy the exotic from xur in a week. Hell you might already have 13 coins.

Once you get the legendaries work on getting them leveled up and farm the mats necessary until you can raid.

Oh and do the queens strike for a legendary piece.
 
The queens bounty to defeat 3 walkers. Do the public event walkers not count? I just did one and it didn't update the bounty.

Public events are difficult to do this bounty for, since you have to earn the killing blow. The easiest way is to go into patrol, go through The Devils Lair area, and kill that walker. Much easier than in the actual strike and usually nobody is there so you can easily get the last blow.
 
Jerek showed me this and it's nuts.

1)
Everyone die except the person who will hold the relic. They respawn on that ledge and stay up there the whole fight.

2)
The relic holder makes sure they have their glide/jump/whatever set to where they get the highest jumps possible. For Warlocks, you can get an extra boost when you do the glide ability. Just check and read the specs.

3)
The relic holder grabs the relic and the fight begins. If you're the relic holder, you jump on to this small tower on the right of you (from the spawn area, this tower would be on the direct left). Then you jump onto a taller tower, and then you turn around and jump toward the closest tower to the spawn area. There's a small light on this tower, and if you jump toward it, you'll land on a small ledge. From this small ledge, jump to where the team has spawned. Use the relic's R1 air attack to get extra air-time.

4)
When you're up here with the relic, you can aim and use the super on the boss to knock out its shields, and cleanse the team when need be. Everyone is pretty much safe unless they fall off, get hit with the templar's splash damage, or you miss a cleanse. If the boss enrages, a lot more cleanses will be needed.

When you fell off and had to jump back up to us was incredibly intense. We were all holding our breaths!
