With how many points a team can get from kills vs holding points I am not surprised every control match devolves into team deathmatch. Might as well just call control Clash 2.
Well the more control points you hold the more points per kill, so I figured most people would prioritize capturing, but I should have known better. :(

If someone is making me a steak and overcooks / messes it up, I don't give them credit for admitting it, I look upon them in a disapproving light and trust them less for steak #2.
That's no way to live life, son.

I honestly don't mind any of the changes, although the queen's gear change is going to delay my progress to 29 a little bit. I hope that their comment on the emergent teamwork that occurred around the cave means that they'll figure out a way to make public events a bigger deal, since they're my favourite part of the game. I'd be cool with larger and more involved public events to bring random people together.

Really hope this strike change is noticeable. Ran a normal level 20 strike last night that took nearly 45 minutes with the final boss wiping us after 10 min and only being at half health (the one with three mini dudes with different color shields). I can't set aside that much time consistently. Hope they really up the rewards too.

I don't know if you'll read this, Hawkian, but figured I'd throw this out there anyways.

Some of the rage is from entitled people. That's to be expected. Any time an easy farm or exploit is fixed, you get some of the rage. It's unavoidable that this group exists.

Some of the rage / concern, though, is coming from people who genuinely like the game and want it to succeed. Want it to thrive. We want it to last that 10 years, to have fun with our bros and sistahs fighting the Darkness. And now, this patch comes, with several obvious examples of lack of foresight and planning that jeopardize that 10 years...that fun.

It's not the nerf of the cave. It's not even the lack of Ascendants (as one can grind the marks and easily, yes easily, hit 27 via Crucible and Vanguard as we've discussed). It's that Bungie didn't see or expect the Players to react in honestly predictable ways. They didn't even realize, apparently, that the idea of a Legendary Engram turning to Blue might piss off people? Especially when the vast majority of the prior Engrams taught the player to generally expect the color it shows.

Compound this with that the game's story is shit, appears rushed, and the numerous other issues....this reaction is entirely predictable.

I still, annoyingly, love the game. I'll still be logged in a lot and playing and hope to group w/you in the future. That being said, today has not been a good day for Bungie.

You should be running missions on the easiest difficulty now. Since it's been confirmed that even a legendary engram can drop from a level 1 there is no point to running heroic missions. Also since the new hotfix today, if you die - your chances of getting an engram drop is lesser. More kills per minute and no deaths = more chance at loot.

Truly brilliant game design.

Wait, am I supposed to be able to do the Queen's missions at 20? I finished a bounty or two, but mousing over the option in the map screen gave me a greyed out banner with "IMPOSSIBLE" written across it.

Destiny kind of teases the content that you'll be able to play 2 or 3 levels before you actually stand a chance, basically you're stuck with the old methods until at least lvl.22, where it will let you play, but unless you have some strong friends you'll fail. Lvl. 24 is usually about the point that people play them, some lower for a challenge and some higher for shards (or used to).

They seriously had to hotfix the queen stuff?

They make an event, based around doing missions that reward guaranteed legendaries that you can do a handful of times per day every day, and didn't think that no shit everyone was going to do them and get a ton of materials?

What the fuck are they even thinking about over there? That is completely obvious and baffling. I was expecting stuff to happen to the cave, but this just makes the entire queen shit pointless unless you want to grind out rep all over again to get terrible rewards.
I thought the shards were the whole point, since the gear itself is not as good as what you can get from tower vendors. Duplicate gear locked to a single class is rather useless.

I am not surprised to see people here say that they leave matches in the bigger maps. I do not do that, but I wonder why that urban Venus map was only in Salvage. It would be better for Clash than Bastion is. So many matches on there have ended in time limit since the head shot bounties were introduced.

Don't lie to the poor man

Haha, he's not THAT wrong. It'll be quicker than the cave (that's a definite now).

I would agree that the marks come pretty quickly but the rep is a grind. Did the Nightfall last night and that finally got me into Level 2 Van rep... sadly I have all legendary/exotic armor so now I have to get to Level 3 Van rep to hit up that Quartermaster robot in the hangar for the Shadow Price that I want.

Wait.. they got rid of engram farming and Ascendant Shards from Queens drops? Damn. I'm glad I got my Exotics when I did, it's gonna be Crucible/Raid/Bounties from here on out I suppose.

I'm in the minority that actually enjoys the PvP I think. I'd never play it alone but when I squad up with my friends it can be really fun. Control especially.

I'm a little disappointed in the way MP was delivered though, not a fan of the whole game type set-up and lack of maps. I feel like they were close to making something special here, but it feels like its lacking content or something similar to the PvE

Did they patch the Queens Legendary armor dismantle? I'm not getting any ascendant shards when dismantling them.
Yup. Enjoy your stunted endgame progression. Better pray REAL HARD to the gods, because otherwise you could be trapped at 27/28 for months if you're unlucky.

Absolutely hilarious.

Its just chickens running with their heads cut off. Hell I am more surprised now if people actually look at the control point markers on their screen and run to the ones being capped. Apparently a giant letter that has a red ring growing around it is too hard to decrypt for people as a warning that that is being capped.

Just played pvp for the first time and I led the team and got nada. Now I see why ppl are mad at it. I busted my ass to help these bums on my squad & I get nothing. First should at least get 1 thing. Fuck.

I think I found my new addiction tho. The supers make pvp different. U think u got someone dead to rights, naw, not that easy

Yea, it's that way with all light gear.

Crazy, I knew it increased your overall level when you upgraded but not once did I check to see if it upgraded the light number as well. Makes sense though, pretty stupid of me to assume otherwise, haha. I guess I should have kept those boots then huh? lol

But I enjoyed shooting at black holes for hours. Destiny 2 needs to be nothing but shooting at black holes.
ireally do think the cave was the most social area in the game now that i think of it. i happened to be in the area looking to finish a patrol mission and one of the wars broke out while 5 other guys were farming the area

shit was dope. many dances were done and afterwards i took part in their traditions for a while

as i finished eating my chicken, i noticed that my gear was still getting experience. i waved and left.

i hope they are well

The maps are easily the worst in any competitive shooter. Worse than MW3.

To get legendaries efficiently, focus on either Vanguard (PVE) or Crucible (PVP). Do your bounties every day when you can. You will quickly earn marks and reputation that will let you buy gear to supplement your Queen's gear.

Lol, quickly. Still takes forever to get to Crucible rank 2 and 3 and the weekly mark limit means I have to arbitrarily wait a week to buy the gun I want.
But yeah, it's definitely the fastest way to get legendary armor.

Oh wow, yea, heh. Mine allow me to carry more heavy ammo, I had 7 rockets in PVP the other day, lol.

So they get shit for saying nothing and get shit for admitting they fucked up a few things and are fixing it.

Nice paradigm you got there.
This. Seriously.

OT5 is becoming the place where fun died.

The Queen's Wrath change does not make it useless-- maybe for SOME players but I know, for ME, it's still useful if I can score something other than a robe for my Warlock.

The Loot Cave was an exploit, not a right. We knew it was going to get patched up. It got patched.

As for fixing everything else before addressing the cave-- it's a lot easier to fix that then to fix some of the deeper, more nagging issues, but at least they have agreed said issues exist and are working on them. I don't know why anyone would NOT want them to admit to mistakes. How can you fix something if you don't admit it exists? Are these fixes ready now? No. Maybe they need some time to figure out.

Wow, that seems kind of bad, but thanks!

Well, the one reliable way to get Ascendant Shards is now gone. Good job to everyone who got dozens of Shards already, then. Completely fucks everyone else out of progression for months potentially, depending on how RNGesus smiles upon you. I'm sure this is exactly what people wanted!

Not only that, but making loot harder to get? That's wonderful! I'm glad Bungie really has their finger on the pulse of their community. People were just BEGGING for an even more ridiculous grind!

So how long do we have to wait until the Cryptarch gets fixed? Loot is even more scarce now, and the Cryptarch is still completely broken, so the only option is to grind like a madman on alts for marks? FUN.

(Really, what the fuck is going on? How could anyone think that this was a good idea? Patching the cave is fine, but lowering drop rates on Engrams, not fixing the Cryptarch for god knows how long, and removing the only reliable way to get Shards? Absolutely ridiculous. People were frustrated with the maddeningly slow progression before, imagine how they'll feel now! There needs to be a way to get shards that doesn't rely on RNG, because as it is, I almost always get Energy from the Ascendant quests, which is useless for progression. Marks can't be the only way to get gear that isn't RNG. Some kind of barter system needs to be added to the raid and the Nightfall, maybe one token per boss, per week, that can be used at a vendor for Shards, Energy, or a selection of raid gear - just like every other MMO ever. Even if you limit progression to one piece a week (or even one piece every two weeks) it would be better than the RNG bullshit that's in place currently. It's very clear that Bungie has no fucking idea what they're doing here.)

Good to see balance changes, but that's not going to matter much when everyone quits the game out of frustration because of the horribly broken loot system.

They didn't "lower the drop on engrams", they lowered it *after a hard wipe*. The only time this effects you is if you were farming "We've awoken the Hive!" or the nexus goblins.

And seriously, maddeningly slow progression? Beating the raid in 2-3 weeks (and hence completing all the content the game has) is "maddeningly slow"?

Why can't you skip story cutscenes? Whyyyyyyyyyyyyyy. I've already seen them on one character, I should just be able to skip them all now. Making alts is a pain in the ass.

Is the increased engram drops for normal play already live?

I just did a Strike and got more blue engram then Ive ever gotten in normal play before. Luck or is that patch already in?
