Destiny |OT5| New patch out Tues., Master Rahool reportedly crying into his robes

Ok, I'm pissed confused now. 7 clears? The raid gives loot on a weekly basis, therefore it's impossible to get gear at that rate unless the guy has alts. The raid just came out.

Is that's what he's doing?

Oh sorry, I probably should have explained, everyone who is 30 right now leveled 3 of the same class in order to run the raid multiple times and just swap all the gear to the main character to level him up.

Are the queen missions still only giving helmets and chest plates after the patch, or is there now more variety?

Curious what the point of doing queen missions if you can no longer get materials for your extra rewards.

Did they finally make it so if you queue for a strike that you can join one in progress? I just joined one at the last boss.

I'm really confused about how Bungie wants players to be playing the game, and I'm someone who never shot into the cave. I just got to level 26 and have all legendary gear (two from Queen's Wrath and two from FWC) and now I'm at a point where leveling any more means upgrading my current gear or getting exotics. This requires having 16 of a specific resource per level of gear and ascendant shards for higher levels. Getting said resources amounts to doing chest runs until I can level. This is not fun, and I know Bungie doesn't want me doing this, but I do not understand how else they think I'd be getting these resources. Did they really expect players would be doing story missions so many times that they'd be collecting 50 fucking spinmetal/spirit blooms/whatever per legendary item? That's absurd. And then you need to get ascendant shards, which you can't even get reliably or easily. I understand that Bungie doesn't want people grinding their way to level 30, but as it is now you would have to be playing the same story missions and public events for a year to level up the natural way. of course, if you're replaying all of this content for that long then you're most likely just doing it to level, which means that the person who plays the same shit over and over again for months just to level up legitimately does not exist.

THIS. Oh god, why doesn't this piss more people off? Playing the same damn missions over and over for different "events" and such?! Fucking serious!? And they even include the same cut-scenes and dialog? Lazy lazy lazy.

I'll remember that! But I still think the raid rewards fine, even if on a weekly basis. Then again, I have gotten kinda lucky with my drops.

Yeah, RNG is definitely a make or break for alot of people.

I've told this story before, but I remember saving 3 legendary engrams from doing something(Forgot what it was, PvP I think?), and turning them all in with my eyes closed. I got 2 exotics out of that and a blue.

It sucks to think that there's someone out there who's played this game fervently but hasn't had the same luck. It makes me feel bad for them.

This isn't entirely true, the daily heroic on 28 drops 2 materials everyday. It should be noted that it took that one twitch streamer "Streamerhouse" 7 clears of VoG to even get the gear that allowed them hit 30. If you are on top on doing the daily heroic, even if you have only 1 character the mats shouldn't be to far behind by the time you actually have the gear if you factor in sharded gear from your weekly vanguard/cruicible marks, nightfall and world drops.
That would be all well and good if you didn't have a 50% chance to get Energy, which is completely useless for progression.

I have gotten Energy for three of the past four daily missions, which means that on average, a week, I'm getting around 4 Shards for dailies. It costs SEVEN for a two-light upgrade on the raid gear. Four light PER MONTH. That's one level EVERY THREE MONTHS.

That doesn't strike you as completely ridiculous?

Yup, they just removed the only reason for doing anything in this event, lol.

Everyone complains about lack of loot. Bungie reduced drop rate of engrams.
People say buy your own and dont rely on engrams. Bungie eliminates ascendant materials from Queen's wrath.
Game is supposed to be social. Bungie patches out the most social location in the game.
People complain about not having enough wild encounters. Bungie reduces the respawn rate at the few places who have plentiful encounters.

Was anyone really complaining about the Loot Cave? Or the drop rates? Or about getting materials from Queen's wrath? Were these things that anyone actually wanted "fixed"? Who are these fixes meant to please? Is this making the game more enjoyable for anyone?

And yet all the fixes people are actually almost unanimously begging for are ignored. Bungie needs to stop yelling "youre not playing it right!" and analyze why people arent playing it "right."

So basically, Bungie is fixing exploits that gamers found and made use of, while doing nothing to address the underlying issues that made those exploits so popular to begin with.

I'm pretty sure 99.99% of gamers would prefer not to stand in one spot and shoot into a cave over and over... the sad fact is, the loot drop rate and quality is so busted in Destiny, that this incredibly boring option was still more attractive than actually playing the game 'as intended'.

Basically.

Have you done the raid?

Have you received Ascendant Energy for every single drop except one?

Good luck getting to level 30 - I hope you're good at prayer, because now leveling to cap is 100% luck-based. No reliable way to get shards means it could take unlucky players MONTHS before they hit 30. Have fun!!!

I actually will have fun, no need to worry about that. Welcome to every MMO ever, where what drops you get is random.

Queen's Wrath mission a minute ago. Me and my friend do the whole thing from start to finish (quite difficult considering he's level 22), another friend pops in a minute before completion and kills literally zero enemies. We get the standard issue gear from the Queen, late guy gets that and a great Legendary Sniper Rifle. This game man...

I'll remember that! But I still think the raid rewards fine, even if on a weekly basis. Then again, I have gotten kinda lucky with my drops.

Yeah might be to be honest. Next time I run through it I don't want to be doing any of the shield business. I think I'm missing out on a lot of potential drops because half the time I'm not killing anything.

First time around I got 2 blues and some greens, second time was one blue and some greens. Is that low?

how about lower the shards from 3 to 1

nope.. fucking GONE good job poopsockers you guys got the easy route.

I wont see 3 shards for god knows how long.
I think lowering the amount of shards you received for breaking down the Queen's gear would have been better than stopping it entirely. Ultimately, we're just doing harder missions and getting the same 3 items over and over again. Why would anyone continue doing these bounties? I already have legendary and exotic equipped and the one chest that I liked the stats for was just really ugly. Like1980s ugly. I couldn't do that to my Titan. I did get the Queen's sniper which I decided to keep.

They could have removed the 5 minute Restoration mission from the rotation and offered more random items from doing these bounties. I was enjoying them and the rewards (shards) were totally worth it. But now I have no reason to keep doing them and I won't. I'm sure this will still help out others so I won't get pissy about it but for me, I'm done with the Queen's Wrath and that's unfortunate.
lol I thank Bungie on Twitter for the opt-in because I'm a girl and someone over twitter calls me a skank.
Yeah, a part of me wants proximity chat since I do strikes with randoms, but I'm also not looking forward to the inevitable trash.

What level did you do the weekly on? That's really the only guaranteed way to get coins.

the highest one, so I got all the coins. I know there's other ways to get coins (non guaranteed), does anyone have any idea which is the most likely to yield coins? Like the most efficient over time?

This is a MMO made by people who have no clue what a MMO is.

I set you up for a joke with a .gif response and you failed me
This relationship of ours has been in the rocks for a while anyways. It's not you it's me. The abusive insults haven't been coming as consistently and that really bothers me.

But hey. Well always have that crouch fight in the tower.

Once you get all legendaries and exotics, you're back to playing the RNG for shards. Unless you buy legendaries just to dismantle them, which considering how many you need and how many the game gives out, is just stupid.

I've heard they drop pretty steadily in the Vault of Glass. A combination of methods would probably work best. Raiding, Nightfall, heroics + dismantling stuff.

This is a MMO made by people who have no clue what a MMO is.

Their news update today sounded like they had a pretty good idea of what's wrong and how to potentially fix it.

That said, it's really unfortunate that they decided to roll out the frustrating nerfs right away and leave the badly needed improvements for "the near future." Bungie should either leave us with our loopholes until they're prepared to offer something better, or give us some kind of band-aid until then.

great. hit crucible lvl 3 couple minutes ago and thought about getting a new AR for 150 marks. But after reading about nerfing the AR, i don't know what to purchase. now what?

We have no idea when the nerf is coming and there is a cap of 200 marks. Just buy the AR :).

People are clearing the content in a game light on content in 2-3 weeks. Gee, what a surprise.

Man, you are so pessimistic about everything. You ok? You come in here to bitch and moan consistently and talk down about the game and Bungie. Hopefully it's making you feel better or something, but damn, quit bitching all the time. If you really feel as you say you do, stop coming here, stop playing the game, and sell it.

You want to be a productive contributor, talk solutions.

So I got a golden bounty for the first time. Had to finish a strike without dying for five times, did that. Now I have to kill 25 enemys and not die on the crucible or something. today I looked up online what the end reward is... a shotgun. I wanted an auto rifle. :(

I don't think any of the exotic bounties give an auto rifle, so it wouldn't really matter what one you chose. The Invective shotgun is decent enough though, I'm not entirely convinced on the auto mode with it but I guess it just takes some getting used to. It was a fairly easy bounty to do as well, it was only the 5 strikes thing which was boring more than anything.

You mean you don't like random adolescent males telling you what they did/will do to your mother/sister? Can't imagine why...

Smart. Crafty bastards. I had a hunch this would work but I decided to wait.

From the raid? What did you get from completeing bosses/encounters?

All I know is my usual fireteam group has been making steady progress at leveling, and the Queen's Bounty legendaries helped all of us - but we haven't been rushing or farming - just playing strikes and the dailies and doing bounties - because dammit the game is still fun ;p

I'm not sure what Bungie intends as far as gathering materials though - so we've just made a point of picking up what we can whenever we run a strike - when we move between the landing zone and the start of the mission.

There are only two reasons to be above 28 really; hard mode raid and Iron Banner (and I don't know how Light damage penalty applies in PvP anyway).
Gotcha, thanks.

So everyone who was able to play Tuesday, Wednesday, and this morning, and was able to do the Queen's bounties twice, finish the orders, and shard the gear was able to get, what, 72 to 108 shards? Enough for level 29, maybe even 30?

And those of us who haven't had a chance have lost it and need to grind for fucking weeks to get the same result? That's shitty Bungie. Put some foresight into your work. What the hell did you think people were going to do 6 missions a day for if not for the shards? What is the point? Why did it take three days to figure that out?

I really don't feel like getting on tonight seeing as I missed the one thing I was really looking forward to doing. Playing with people who I was the same level with last weekend and am now weeks behind doesn't sound like fun.

All this bitching and I just want someone to group up with. My friends on LIVE who are playing are lower levels.

I would forget all of this nonsense from.Bungie if they would create and easy way to find players to team up with in your level

Why am I singled out in a thread full of people bitching again? Oh, right. You have an axe to grind with me. Go yell at someone else with your petty garbage.

So anyone else thinking Mercury will be coming in an expansion? They have that Multi player map so have already put some design thought into the setting.

This reminds me of a lot of the early PSO rage when Sega went in and cleaned out everyone's duped items.

Sega had implemented a check for duped weapons and people figured out if you stashed them away in storage you could take them out once you were in an instanced game and use duped weapons.

They hot-patched a fix and deleted all of them and the PSO community went nuts because everyone had these killer weapons and then didn't (Spread Needle was only a prize in a Japan only tournament IIRC, yet everyone was rocking one).

In the long run, it makes for a better game to clear these quick fix cheats. The game that is destiny is based on a long grind to get there, finding a way to exploit it to get stuff quicker isn't in any ones best interest. It might mean the game wasn't for you to begin with, but it's better for the health and economy of Destiny as a whole moving forward.

3 months from now no one would be playing a game where you shot at a cave for 5 hours straight.

Yeah, this game has done a lot for people who caught things before they are fixed. People bought a load of strange coins from Xur before they quickly removed it, and now people who either didn't/couldn't play much and were waiting for the weekend got massively screwed over on the Queen event.
