PS4+FIFA 15 Combo in UK successfully neutralizing the official Xbox one Bundle ?

Is it an unofficial bundle by retailers? I'd assumed MS had the lockdown on official bundles.

Driving in to London today on the M4 there were huge billboards on the side of the road from GAME advertising PS4 + FIFA15 for £349 (same orice as the standalone console)
 
That's a soft bundle, not an official Sony one.
And yeah at the same price it'll completely negate any effect the XB1 deal may have had.
 
In GAME the only game they have on the PS4 demo kiosk is Fifa. On the Xbone (when it's working) they have stuff like Trials Fusion...
 
I haven't been following the UK charts at all, but is it fair to say that perhaps the gap is smaller in the UK than the US, even?

Is the UK now Microsoft's (reliatively) strongest market? Do we have the full data to know?

Yeah seems like an unofficial official bundle. Sony basically saying to retailers give your customers that game, we'll pick up the tab is what I'd imagine is happening.

In some ways it is better that way as you get a retail copy no some crappy download code or a physical copy that says 'bundle edition' and lacks a barcode so hampering resale value.

I think they've probably done it off the back of MS doing the same with Destiny.
 
It'll probably cancel out any chance of XB1 getting a better spike than PS4. Both are clear going to get a boost though - the XB1 bundle is highest I remember seeing console on Amazon for a while.

It's pretty clear this gen both sides will try and circumvent regionally targeted bundles although Sony is in stronger position by default to do so.

Seems official to me.

Media Markt and Saturn both have TV spots for a Fifa + PS4 bundle and XB1 is only seen after the EA Fifa ad here in germany.
 
Game are also doing the £349 Fifa bundle with Last of Us Remastered too. I found it quite odd to see so much advertising for Microsoft's bundle and yet it was getting clearly beaten in the same store by Sony's offering.
 
Ouch, MS's advertising deal was a complete waste of money then

(I'm joking - everyone said this about Destiny on Playstation)
 
In Sweden, we've got an insane PS4 deal right now... buy PS4, regular price, get NHL15 and FIFA15 free.

It's INSANE.

This is actually going to be interesting to watch. Is the PS4 userbase big enough at this point to overtake how much FIFA will sell on the PS3 or 360? The other interesting one to watch will be CoD. Which is another massive franchise that puts up huge numbers right from the start.
 
Sony has another 2 bundles coming up as well.

So let me get this right....MS have the exclusive bundle, but working with retailers, Sony have a FIFA pack-in bundle to get around it. Since it's retailer driven, Sony aren't breaking any perceived 'rules' about exclusivity?

Nice work by Sony, it has to be said. Could MS have done the same for Destiny perhaps?
 
The bundle is also available in other european countries, not just UK:

They did. They had Destiny and Halo for £349 and still got beat 2:1
