Gear conundrum.

Would I be crazy for sticking with my Grim Citizen and buying the Crest of Alpha Lupi in lieu of the Suros Regime? I hear people raving about it but it doesn't look THAT much better than the Grim and I would be losing 9 shots per mag, my reload modifier, and all the materials I spent getting it to the penultimate upgrade. Factoring in the rarity of Ascended Energy, I probably wouldn't have the Suros upraged until November.

Alternatively, I could also just save my Strange Coins, keep the Queen's Guard Plate, and see what Xur has to offer next week.

walking home from work, had to do a double take on the pachinko parlour, my poor mind shouted "legendary/blue engram dropped"

Hahaha. It's right there in the middle!!! Go get it!!

So is Suros a good gun? I was hoping for a Scout Rifle but I did want a new primary weapon. So???

Oh and just turned my exotic engram in and I now have two exotic items for both a Titan and a Warlock... I'm a Hunter.

Would it work better if I made a Titan and used him to decode the engram.
So disappointed in this whole "oh you'll grow into it someday. Just say thanks to grandma" engram system

Yeah, save your coins and don't get the rifle, especially since they're nerfing rifles anyway.

it's just like the Queens reward items. how do they not come to the conclusion that people are going to farm those for shards?

They need to see this as an indication that shards are way too hard to get. It's fine if they think the Queen's Wrath rewards were giving too many and too fast, but they need to add some other deterministic way of getting them that isn't painfully slow.

Xur should just offer exotic bounties imo

With the stuff I have stashed and the Queen event I'm a few days off of having 3 characters capable of collecting 9 strange coins a week.

Do a raid, pray to RNGesus you get the chest pieces because fuck loot tables m i rite? and then throw away the queen's guard plate.

Also, I think I'm sticking with my Shadow Price and that you should stick with your Grim Citizen because they're both legendaries. They have way more flexibility than exotics.

I've had Suros for around...a week or so and it's a nice gun but ultimately I went back to the scout rifle. The precision of the scout rifle ultimately won out for me. It seems like a pretty slick gun if you like auto rifles though.

should i swap my Doctor Nope for the Suros? or should i invest in the chest instead for raids/high level missions? im mainly a striker but currently leveling up the defender perk for those purposes

I really want that suros but going to hold off until I see how the AR nerf feels. Going to be some angry customers from Xur today.

New loot cave? where :o

Suros isn't that great IMO, I found one only yesterday and once you buy that first perk the gun becomes more of a weak scout rifle, it's not for me.

And I love scout rifles.

Dangit.

I was feeling like I'd be foolish not to get the Suros, for PvE if nothing else, and then you go and say that. I have a Shingen with a more damage while ADS'd and it's great for PvE.

Replaced it with Dr. Nope, but still.

I don't understand why people are still farming things, especially with this Queen's mission thing going on. Why don't they just buy gear?

Is it just people who are wanting to skip playing the actual game and get stuff as fast as possible?

I'm expecting a lot more kick making them a lot worse at mid to long range. Since Suros has its RoF slowed down when aiming I expect it to come out comparatively well.

If this new loot cave is anything like the previous one, you'd get far more loot within 45 minutes than you did playing strikes for the same amount of time.
Yes but after 45 minutes in a loot cave you might have one legendary engram if lucky, and it will probably turn into blue gear.

In 45 min you could do 2 strikes and have 6+ marks some rep and plenty of chances at legendary engrams.

Strikes and crucible are better than the loot cave if you want purples. But they should be VASTLY better.

If you hold off you might not get the chance for it again from Xur anytime soon :p

Bungie: "Today the Auto Rifle is too effective at long range, even beating Scout and Pulse Rifles in some circumstances. Expect stability and/or damage adjustments to the Auto Rifle to address this in the weeks ahead."

No ETA on when the nerf is coming...

Re: loot caves and farming

If Bungie wants us to do harder stuff and play "for real," there needs to be some more universal benefit for higher level content, not just the rewards for the playlist or daily bonus. Trying to selectively nerf methods of farming low level enemies is a losing battle.

Start by addressing the goofy inconsistency in Vanguard marks and faction: Doing a 15 minute strike in a playlist gives me as much faction as a 2-minute patrol mission, and as many marks as a 5-minute public event.

THIS. SO MUCH THIS.

I was rocking the relic last night during a raid we played, and I really regret not recording it.

I see too many people not knowing how to use the relic correctly, regardless of what level they are. We do need more people showing folks how its done.

Also, if you or anyone else is in a group that says to ignore the enemies in the portals, drop that group.

Looks like I need to keep an eye out for a non-shwheeled Scout Rifle.

Not a big fan of those guns, but hopefully it'll grow on me.

Am I crazy for considering buying a second Suros and just never upgrading it to use in the crucible? Felt so good before the uprade. Would be nice if that was in a tree upgrade so it could be toggled.

Check out Vision of Confluence. It's a fully automatic Scout Rifle that does solar damage.

Yes I use it. Yes, I am OP and I still use a fusion rifle in pvp.

Glad you got it.. b/c I'm definitely considering passing on it for now. I really want that Ice Breaker and I KNOW Xur will have it next week and I won't have any coins left.

That's what I'm waiting for too, I know if I buy the Suros this week Icebreaker will be next week with my luck and I'll have no coins for it. I think I'll get the rest of my crucible marks and just get either the Vanquisher or Shadow Price instead and bank my coins.

It just means they can't aim for shit and need "Spray & Pray" in order to get any kills. Just shoot them to fucking head and it will go clean off even with slower firing AR and you will win Shingens and Galahads in 1on1 battles.

Can aim and shoot to head? You are fine with slower firing AR.

Can't? Take fast firing AR and "Spray & Pray" basically.

If you can control the recoil on fast fire rate guns the Suros is 100% useless. Suros is for longer range encounters but outside of Bastion and Moon those are few and far between in Destiny PVP.

Thanks for the reply. I think I will skip it (even though it looks awesome). I'm a scout/pulse rifle fan.
I think I would likely do better in PvP with Suros but if they are really gonna nerf them it's not a great investment.

You aren't factoring in all the rare engrams you get cave farming, which have a chance to turn into legendaries (I've got several this way), and that help level the Cryptarch, which gives you more chances at legendaries.

All I know is that I've got 5 legendaries thus far, and all came from the cave farming activities. Plus cave farming adds lots of experience to a subclass, weapons, armor, etc.

I can see this argument. When I used the loot cave, I usually did it as a way to idle while I got money and XP for guns.

However, you're right about prizes should be way better than they are now. Hell, it's a shame the raid doesn't give vanguard marks when it's the crux of PvE content.

That comic is missing me sitting behind them while I eat lunch and do some work lol. That was the real benefit of the loot cave...gotta shower? Loot cave. Gotta eat? Loot cave. Gotta please woman? Loot cave Gotta poopy? Loot cave.

Best feature I tell you!
Is that list in order of priority?

Damn, how is Xur not offering a helm for Titans? I have legendary gear for everything but helm which is rare. Was really hoping to get an exotic helm that would push me to 28. Woe is me. :(

Yeah there were always all these AFK Guardians standing near the last loot cave all the time, they were just sitting there collecting tons of experience and whatever engrams you get from RNG...

I'm in the same boat.

Fully upgraded GCIII so I'm hesitant to pull the trigger on the Suros.

Have 31 coins and 30 motes. Level 27 Titan, all legendaries just need shards to hit 28.

Might just gamble on the exotic Engram.
