Destiny |OT5| New patch out Tues., Master Rahool reportedly crying into his robes

honestly I didn't even use the loot caves for engrams, I just used them to leave my guy sitting down for armor exp, or to shoot easily at a group of enemies straight ahead for weapon exp. Not like it matters now as I'd gain more consistent daily exp for both by doing bounties.

If there is one major use for the queen's bounties right now is that some of them can coincide with vanguard bounties. I think from one I grabbed yesterday that I didn't do plus today, there are now two bounties I have to kill Septis Prime. EXP galore yo

Hey guys!

I plan on Redbox renting Destiny for the 360 this weekend/early into next week (Don't have a PS4 or XB1).

I've been following the game a lot, mostly in the form of videos/Let's Plays and co-workers talking in long bouts about it. I have lots of time logged playing the Halo series, Borderlands and Mass Effect 3 multiplayer. Depending on how this "getting my feet wet" experience goes (if it goes anywhere well), I'll likely being purchasing the game at some later date (hopefully with some new patches/content) for the XB1 as I'll will almost without a doubt be getting one to play the MCC come November.

I'll reiterate that this is solely a rental for me now on the 360 and if I ever do come back to it it would be for the XB1. In that sense, I can't see much point of grinding things if I won't even be able to save my character or equipment.

My question to you is, what would be the best advice to get the most of out that experience for say 10/15/20 hours of gaming over like 3 or 4 days? Chug through story missions? Delve into Crucible after reaching Level-X? Strikes?

So something has changed for the Strike bounties for sure. Twice now I have completed a strike and not gotten credit for the bounty.
I usually spend a lot of time taking care of the trash mobs that show up. This allows my teammates to concentrate on the boss. Always works well.
Just finished the Nexus strike and didn't get the bounty.

I would recommend using this thread to find people to play with. That's the best advice I can offer.

guess it's time to buy a SUROS so I can be op as everyone else. who sells it?

also lol, blade dancer is so stupidly broken, bungie can't even balance super moves.

The heroic strike at 22, 26 and 28 (If you do lvl 28 first you get the strange coins you would have normally gotten for 22 & 26 without having to run them) is the only guaranteed method to get strange coins, 9 total. There are other ways...engrams/daily events/rewards from nightfall/crucible, but these are random.

I hit level 27 last night so I need to find a couple of folks to do that strike with tonight then.

I wouldn't bother. You won't have time to get up to the level where you may/may not see cool stuff. You will likely hit 20 and then be stuck looking at the grind ahead when you return it.

You can transfer your character over from 360 to One.

Flawless lmao.

People are gonna keep finding new ways to farm/lootcaves as long as Bungie doesn't fix the lootsystem. There is something inherently wrong with how your game works if people prefer standing in one spot mindlessly shooting a cave instead of actually doing fun stuff, because that is not rewarding the player. Gamedevelopment 101 Bungie, appropiately reward the players for the actions they are doing.
Unfortunately true. Still having fun playing but am stuck grinding the crucible to get a high enough rank to be able to buy legendary gear.

I'm serious when I bring up Diablo 3. We should all play D3 while we wait for the raid lockout to go away.

This and I love playing with GAFfers.

You've already "won" Destiny. Might as well stop playing :P

Yea I've got a Hawkmoon nearly fully upgraded. Bought the Suros but the handcannon is a beast, especially in PvE. Last night doing the Riad, I think I single handedly took out like 30 of those big Vex guys that come for the centre pillar at the end boss. One pulse rifle Void blast to get rid of their hield, two headshots from my Hawkmoon. Any other AR requires nearly a clip of ammo.

But alas, the AR is better for situations where there are multiple enemies.

I need 3 god damn coins :( Tried the weekly solo and with (an admittedly drunk) friend and came very close but no cigar.

Is there a cheesy strategy for the boss in this weekly? Or... at least a safe one? I'm level 26. My solar legendary fusion rifle tears through shit because of the solar burn modifier, but I'm still dying at the boss.
You can stay in the tunnel without jumping down to the nexus. An Axis Minotaur will spawn every half minute or so. As long as he can be handled, you're golden up there (Void + Solar followup and he goes down like a clown).

Make a Bungie account and link your gamertag (if you didn't already) and everything will transfer over to the X1. You may not even need a Bungie account actually.

I want the Hawkmoon just to try it out. I think it's more powerful than The Last Word, which is a beast in itself.

Might have to try this.

Its a good thing I am a gun hoarder... seems like every high level strike or mission we do I am always like "ok use your solar rifles to take down shields" and people are like "huh?" I don't have any solar rifles?"

>_<

You can get a lot done in 3 days. Finish the game and get to 20 I'd say. Skip the grinding afterwards and head to MP.

Does the speaker sell that? Would look so good with the all white shader.

I did really well in PVP with it too. Only reason I don't use it as my main in PvP is because you need to constantly be on your game when using hand cannons (lag certainly doesn't help). AR's don't do as much quick damage, but allow a bit more flexibility with your aim. Was considering switcing to Hawkmoon as my go to for everything though.
