even green weapons should give you the boost in damage you would need.

I'm halfway to leveling on Queen bounties. But I don't feel like there's much to shoot for as I'd rather get V-marks to buy stuff.

Anyone else w/ advice? Just looking for personal insight from fellow Guardians...not looking for the end-all, be-all solution really.

The Captain and its group at the end of this video respawns in only a handful of second. Just kill all the enemies up top including the Captina, drop down and by the time you kill the four enemies below they'll have respawned.

did the venus run. Sweet. Done with all of the PvE bounties I cared to do. Legendary Scout Rifle now has the staggering bullets and the last damage upgrade I'm going to give it.
Helmet still needs to be leveled up but with my spirit bloom run it's ready so if I do the raid I can level it up throughout.
Good run. I guess I'm done with the game for now, hit me up if somebody wants to play later. Guess I'll do something healthy instead of play Destiny the whole weekend lol

go do 2 public events for 8 Marks and buy some legendary Legs, Then do the Queens missions and get a Head & Chest or do that in reverse order.

If you can, run the level 24 strikes. Those guarantee you level 20 armor. That alone should get you to light level 24 fully upgraded.
Next, run the dailies! I just did all the vanguard daily bounties, some strikes, the daily story missions and I had all the rep and marks to buy legendary gear easily. Also doing those netted me plenty of strange coins so I could buy gear from Xur.
Seriously, the vanguard daily bounties takes like an hour to run through them all and you get around 500-600 rep from that alone.
The queens bounties will easily net you two legendaries extremely quickly as well.
A few upgrades and this lands you in 27-land! (Lvl 24 strike

You get three per difficulty level, or can just do the highest level from the onset and get them all (up to 9).

If I remember right, there's a mini event where a band of pike riders will come through near the Cinder Caves, I think? Anyway, you can kill them and take their pikes.

Helped a couple gaffers through the nightfall. One got a legendary sniper and another 7 strange coins.

Nightfall rewards in general are amazing and strange coins is fine... But the fact you get 9 strange coins from the weekly heroic and then can get less than that in the nightfall doesnt make any sense.

All the other hunter chests I've seen appear to be covered with doohickeys, I don't get it. Hunter armor should be sleek, aerodynamic, unrestrictive. That's the first one I've seen that fits the bill.
But it's a range, you can also get up to 10, and 9 + 7 = 16 = an exotic armor piece and then some.......
especially if you have legendary gear already, strange coins is a BETTER roll than a legendary! cause you can decide how to spend it!
IMO, the Jackpot from the nightfall is the 10-12 ascendant shards (

Does the heroic raid drop any better gear? Or just more?
I like what Bungie did with engrams. Played some after the last update (no farming, only missions) and engrams were dropping left and right, including blue ones (I rarely ever got those). But my biggest surprise was when Cryptarch actually decoded blue engram into a blue sniper rifle (and a very good one). Most blues that I decoded before turned out to be greens in disguise.

I got 9 strange coins as loot. I was really happy with that. Better coins than a duplicate exotic or exotic gear you don't want.

Apparently you don't need to do the raid to get to level 30? My friend in my fire team got a legendary chest engram from a random kill during a mission, decrypted into a legendary Hunter chest starting at +25 light. Too bad he is a Titan.
