I like what Bungie did with engrams. Played some after the last update (no farming, only missions) and engrams were dropping left and right, including blue ones (I rarely ever got those). But my biggest surprise was when Cryptarch actually decoded blue engram into a blue sniper rifle (and a very good one). Most blues that I decoded before turned out to be greens in disguise.

I don't think they did anything to the engrams, did they?

Yes, or just do the level 28 right off the bat and collect 9 coins at once for reward. (The game gives you 3 for 28, 24 and 22)

Not exactly. You can get up to 9 strange coins per week. You get three more each difficulty level up, up to a total of 9

I love that you buy the engram that's a guaranteed exotic from Xur, but then you still have to take it to the Cryptarch who is happy to fuck it all up for you.

They really are the Light and the Darkness.

eh. Materials/chests have always been everywhere like crazy IMO.

admission: Getting into a good groove/loop while material farming, especially in a split fireteam, is actually pretty damn fun for me. Pop a whatever-glimmer consumable, bust out the speeder, click every beacon I see, ditch the faraway/time-consuming ones. Obviously it's not challenging, and it's a good opportunity to watch something on my other screen, but *shrug* It's satisfying, especially hitting those crit chests. I understand it's supposed to be boring but the core controls/speeder controls/chance of public events keep it fun for me (i LOATHE farming in MMORPGS).

I think maybe i'm not that weird because people have legitimately claimed that standing in a single spot shooting at a cave is fun for them, so, I think i'm in the clear!

Apparently you don't need to do the raid to get to level 30? My friend in my fire team got a legendary chest engram from a random kill during a mission, decrypted into a legendary Hunter chest starting at +25 light. Too bad he is a Titan.

Exactly, and I wish everyone would consider that there are only 9 total exotic helmets in the game, 3 per class. Go look them up, you might not find any of them appealing. Motes are valuable, you could get an awesome class item or use them for future events like that Mercury Crucible one coming up.
