Found 2 randoms to help with the weekly heroic level 28. We killed the Nexus from down below but holy shit was that intense. Probably should have just cheesed it.

So does anyone have any theories for the PvP meta after they tilt the damage tables?

I think there will always be a place for the autos, but post-patch I'm thinkin we'll probably see pulse and scout seeing more primary play, along with more fusions in the two spot.

Cheesed it?

Do you mean standing on the circular ring?
If so they patched it, I tried it last night - did not work.

or are you talking about that high ass ledge against the back wall?

I swear this game is trolling me. Trying for the "kill people on vehicles" bounty and finally got one of the vehicle maps, then every single time I was about to get a kill they would jump off. No less then 15 times in that one match.

It's anyone around who could show me where the newest loot cave is? I can't find the darn thing.

PSN ID Petrieslastword

Please?

Also would love a party for the Queens Wrath to get my pickup before it's over!

Don't sell yourself short; I've pointed one of the folks I know who worked on the game (she's doing high end content design & testing, Vault of Glass is heavily her baby) towards the guides for both herself and her friends already; and she's been passing it around. They're pretty good.
I appreciate that, sincerely. Kinda surreal.

Yikes. That sounds like a bounty I wouldn't even bother with, lol.

Anybody down for helping me and my nephew finish the weekly heroic at 28? We are at the last boss and my nephew is only 25, so it is a bit tough :/. PSN: PaulKersey

hand cannons will be king, fusion rifles will be the next overpowered weapon we complain about

I still had it from a few days ago when I thought it was just killing others with vehicles. Didn't notice how slow my progress on it was until later and now at 8/10 but can never seem to get the big maps now that I actually want to play on them. I remember raging out after getting them like 5 times in a row once too.

Thing is, he does bury acknowledgement of problems in there, it's just in very indirect ways.

This is another way of saying the current incentive structure is um, suboptimal and they're working on it. It's nice to have it at least out there, but as you said it's so fluffy and indirect. I'd be nice if he would just say what he means.

The BWU's used to be something I really looked forward to, but these days I go in resigned to parsing it for information.

Its very strange, they had to at least play some other grind games like this and realize players would seek out the path of least resistance/work for the most rewards.

Hell I know some people playing FF11 that had 2-3 PC's running bots 24/7 fishing and notorious monster hunting.

You make a game for crackheads don't expect well adjusted players to "play right"... people will use any cheese or glitch they can manage to get ahead of your treadmill.

They also had to realize some of the modified missions are hard as fuck when you are just 20-24 and need an entire new set of gear to even scratch enemies.

Nail on the head. If they tweak it right, you'll be kosher with Scout/Sniper at vast range; Auto, Scout, or Pulse at mid-long range; Auto, Fusion, Hand Cannon at mid-close range; and Fusion/Shotgun at close range. (Did I forget a weapon type...?) I wasn't as annoyed by shotguns as most (Use the Radar, Luke) but their range decrease might make fusions more apparent. I bet both will still be valuable.
But with autos and shotguns taking reductions, wouldn't the game naturally get more distanced making cannons harder to use effectively?
Yeah, I don't see hand cannons becoming dominant. In fact, I expect ARs to remain the most commonly chosen weapon.

Are you talking about that Pandemonium fight? Cause I hear stories about that to this day.

I'm 28 as well.

I'm trying to get video recordings of the whole raid, so if you need someone within an hour or so, I can help. I can carry the relic, defend, etc.
Alright.

I'm thinking of doing Hard Mode instead though. I want to see how tough it is.

Give me a sec. Gonna see how it is just by myself.

Bought a shader and finally might have found a replacement to the God of War one.

Sorry to say, but even if you did(which would be an insane amount of playing, lol), there's a 100 mark cap which is below the weapon cost.

This is some bullshit. I have more than enough marks to have a vendor come up off a legendary weapon. However, the lack of rep is killing me. I need an Angry Joe GIF snippet to highlight my anger. If I can reach rank 2 by Sunday then I can at least purchase some legendary armor to increase my rank. I'm 1/3 of the way to rank 1 already so this should be doable.

Who wants to help me beat the Queen's mission? My PSN ID is Furyous. I said that wrong, PLEASE, PLEASE, PLEASE, *begging voice* help me! I tried to solo that mission and quit 10 minutes into it after realizing I couldn't run straight through the mission. Why in the shit does everyone have shields in that mission. The fuck?!!

I'm down for raiding or the nightfall strike as well. I see a few other guys in here talking about it, so I'm putting myself out there for hire.

I'd love to see hand cannons become equivalent to top tier, because they are the coolest weapon.

There is absolutely no doubt you can hit Rank 2 by Sunday. If you exhaust all your bounties and need to continue progressing, get a fireteam and do this: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=kr41CIlL7Tc rep is good for everyone and the 500-800/hr is no exaggeration.
I'm hoping that's not it though. Usually hard mode raids have added mechanics in order to defeat bosses.
i assume there is much more to it, but there is no reviving.

agreed on that.

I don't like to nitpick people's writing - it's harder than it looks - but the Bungie Weekly Updates are kind of a chore to read with Deej's style.

"We're already putting the finishing touches on the next update and it will be out pretty soon" would do it. As is we have to read between the lines of two paragraphs of fluff to get to the information. The entire update reads like this and I find myself often skimming it to find the point of a section.

I have always said this. I'm just not a fan of the writing style because it comes off as pretentious.

most of the maps and the radar just seem to encourage close range encounters, and hand cannons and fusion rifles are still pretty viable at close range. So I don't see players deviating from cqc until other changes are made
edit: I wanna expand on my thoughts more, but typing on a phone is annoying
