Damn, is psn always this terrible? I didn't mind it so much on ps3 as it was free, but paying for a service that you can't use 50% of the time is a joke. :(
 
LGuys I've been basically using the same weapons as when I finished the game. I'm only vanguard level 1, is there anything I can do to get a better auto rifle or pulse rifle?

I'm lvl 27.

Armor has been fine to get but weapons have not.

Any advice?

Same here. Coming up on 3 days play time and have yet to find a legendary or exotic weapon. I don't want Suros Regime.
 
I'm getting kicked out of Destiny's servers every 2mins or less... anyone else having problems?

Xbox One version.

XBL is good; I tried other games, Battlefield 4, NFS and Diablo 3 without problems.

How many coins do you have? Maybe you could try to buy Suros from Xur?
 
Isn't the Heroic Strike supposed to match me up with two other people? It keeps putting me in a game with other people but we're not on the same Fireteam or anything. I remember being matched with people for the other Strikes...

Only pre-mades. Same as Nightfall.

Only on regular strikes/playlist, not the weekly heroic or nightfall.

Level Vanguard to 3? I think biggest mistake people made is chose to get faction rep before getting Vanguard Rep first to at least level 3. When you hit level 3, you are guaranteed to receive 1 legendary weapon, after that with each level they send you gifts, having high chance for legendary weapon. I am level 6 with them right now, since level 3 I got 2 weapons and 1 piece of armor in my mail, rest were upgrade mats.

God damn, just completed the nightfall strike solo. Almost had a heart attack. Got an extra 7 strange coins from it, would've preferred shards at this point but oh well.

this is true. I wish I had made it much more clear in my guides. Vanguard is right choice unless you're PvP-only
 
Don't know if this was posted already but you can get to that secret spot against the nexus for the weekly strike if you are Hunter. Just hug the wall close to where those stalagmites and the secret spot are then triple jump up to the ledge

I'm in the same boat. I got an exotic AR soon after hitting 20, which was awesome, but I'm still using a blue sniper and LMG, and I'm 27 now. I've almost got enough Crucible marks for some legendaries, though.
 
Man, is there any reasonable way to fucking level up my Vanguard rank? Started today at Level 1 and just played for 7 hours, doing bounties/patrols and a strike. I'm now 480/2000 to Level 2. Are you fucking joking? I need to play for 20-30 hours more just to get up to rank 2 so I can buy the boots I want?

PLEASE tell me I'm just doing this wrong and there's a quicker method. Was hoping to get it done today.
 
To complete my Legendary armor, I still need a helmet, which costs 120 Vanguard Marks. I've got 118.. and I've reached the weekly cap. Ugh! When is the next reset?

Alternatively, I could spend my 23 motes of light on the Exotic Engram from Xur, which happens to be a helmet. Should I risk it?

If you keep doing the vanguard bounties and patrols, it'll go up over time.

If you're a high enough level, you get 500 rep from doing the Nightfall for the week.

However, the weird stall between 24 and 26 needs to be fixed (may already be fixed with the Queens stuff, but it wasn't there for me when I needed it). If they hire a random voice actor to read the Grimoire cards and have a way to play them while out doing patrol, I'll even be fine with the story. At that point...All they would need is to put in some more tool tips, or just add a hint here and there as to what things do. Like a hint about the Speaker's class items. Shit, that may be already be in the Grimoire cards for all I know.

Would be a 9/10 game for me. The actual story would need to be completely reworked in story mode for a 10/10. Probably not possible or worth the time at this point. Just put those people on adding some free content (real content, not just modifiers) between DLC's.

I think the problem with the story (and another point that I agree with Joe on) is that it seems most of the story appears to be cut out and then placed in those expansion packs as DLC. Think about it: we still need to hear what the Queen wants us to do since apparantly we still "owe her", we still have no idea what the name of the girl who "doesn't have time to explain why she doesn't have time to explain", we don't really know who these fallen are and/or why they are bad, and in the current main story, we go from fighting mobs after mobs and mini bosses for 6-7 hours until the final boss/mission is in Ghost's words, "a god".

There is so much left unexplained in the story that I really do believe a lot of it was taken out and put in in future expansions. Bungie usually doesn't make these kind of mistakes with there games. It's not like them.
 
I'm so close to level 29 I can taste it.

I might have to wait until Tuesday though.

Also, does the normal and heroic raid share the same lockout?

It's actually pretty easy once you have it down huh? I'm currently building up alts so I can do 3 runs of it a week, should be kitted out by the reset. Honestly I think with an organized team at level 30 and a bit of practice at the stealth and jumping sections, which are pretty straight forward too, doing it without a death shouldn't be THAT hard.
