Okay guys:
After stretching my legs, confirming my Hawkmoon was indeed real both in the field and the Crucible, making short work of a weekly heroic with toda, and pretty much effortlessly hitting 28, I'm feeling magnanimous. Destiny was good to me last night and I had help along the way, so now I want to give back.
Gonna walk the dog and have a bite for dinner, and then I'll be polishing up and posting part 3 of my leveling guide. After that, I've got guild duties in a few hours, but until then and afterward into the wee hours of the morning, I am offering my services on PS4.
I am willing to help anyone with anything, but priorities are new/relatively new players, and I guess these particular things:
- Finishing your Weekly Heroic Strike- if you want something from Xur and haven't done your weekly, this is the time. This is the only guaranteed source of Strange Coins in the game. It CAN be done on multiple character. Pocket Infinity I can tear through this strike like newspaper.
- Finishing your Weekly Nightfall
- Reaching Vanguard Rank 2- we'll be using this method, and if you don't mind, I will be streaming these runs. A lot of people who are frustrated with the apparently slow pace of ranking up would benefit from simply grouping up and rolling with one another, and I hop to spread the word about how it works. Note: at Vanguard Rank 4 and Crucible Rank 2, i'm not even thinking about Reputation anymore, it just comes as I play.
- Leveling up quickly pre-20 (I didn't really feel this was necessary, but I know some people feel the need for speed)
- Queen's Wrath kill orders for help getitng to 26
Note: I'm getting a lot of Party/Fireteam requests these days. I think it's awesome! Destiny has been a very social experience for me even with the lack of in-game features for it and that's pretty sweet.
If I don't respond to your request, please don't think that I don't love you! I may be in the middle of a firefight, a conversation with other GAFers, or (most likely) AFK- i leave my game up in Orbit or the Tower while I'm not physically there a looooot of the time. If you send me a message instead, I will always respond as soon as I get it.
This will be first come first serve for people who quote this post and reply in this thread with what they need help with. As soon as we accomplish the goal that we set out to get done for you, I'll have to take to the sky to help another fireteamNo hard feelings! Would like to complete the Weekly Nightfall to see if I get any good drops. Lv 25 Warlock...need better armor, etc. trying to get to Lv 28+.

Look for upgrade materials? That's mostly what I've been doing.
Edit: I'm also stuck with Ascendant Shards. The Daily Heroics on the two higher difficulties give +1 or +2 Ascendant materials.
Go outside, watch some football, smang, etc etc
I personally usually focus on leveling up Reputation for the different factions. Long term I want to get all of them up to at least 3 so I have options, and past that point to 4 for future-proofing.

You might be too low. I forget. I believe you are able to access it at level 24-25, but the enemies will do bonus damage to you.

Did you try to equip it with your Suros equipped? Because you can only have one exotic weapon equipped at a time, so it wouldn't have been in your primary slot, you just can't have an exotic primary and secondary equipped at the same time.

It said there was an error when I put in your name but walked away from the ps4 for a couple of minutes and noticed it went through. It's just really slow I guess.
Folks rolling new toons, are you rolling the same class as your main, or are you rolling a different class?
Right now, I'm thinking it may be better to roll another Warlock so I can get it to level 20, then pass my gear over from my main so the alt can be level 28-29 immediately. This way, I'll be able to do everything twice, and get gear both can use, but at double the rate.
However, I do want the Hunter and Titan trophies....

If you find someone to carry you, the Queen's Wrath missions can get you your first Legendary helm/chest quite easily right now.
25s will be one shot or as good as.
You can do it with 26s, but 27-28 will go so much faster. I'd recommend levelling a bit first.

Do not attempt the raid unless your are AT LEAST level 26, even then it's gonna be tough.

I bought the exotic engram earlier, fully expecting to get a different class item but I got the Hunter helmet that gives the 4th shot for the golden gun. Might have to switch back to gunslinger at some point. Kind of makes me regret buying the armor last week since now I can't buy the Suros.
you're next in line after squall/toda then... but where is squalllll...

I haven't been frequenting this thread since, well, I've been playing the game in my leisure time. What is coming in the patch that you would feel it necessary to create a new character?

Pretty much grind rep to buy some gear with light on it to level up, or you get lucky with loot drops. You either grind, or get lucky

Thanks for the replies! Thats what I figured and I'm nowhere near ready having just hit 20 but my friends are 24-28 and said they're going to tackle it tonight....uh...lol

With 26's you will probably face Enraged bosses. We did it with a party of 28's and a 29 and that went fairly smooth.
Again, right now, the Queen's Wrath missions are perfect for anyone in the 20-24 range if they can get carried! This is one of the things I totally expect to be helping people with this weekend.
Don't worry about the stats, what are the unique mods? Do they help your build?Well I finally acquired 23 mote of light and used it on an exotic helmet enagram. This is what I ended up getting:
Mine has 101 Strength. Kinda sucks that it gives strength and not Intellect. Is it still good anyway for my Warlock?

Does the Queen have any easy bounties to get tickets? If so, I'd be happy to help anyone that needs some Legendary armor as well. Won't be until later tonight, but if you're stuck, I'm sure you'll remember this post.
