Alien isolation first 20 min (pewdewpie warning!)

Jesus Christ seeing these hater comments is delicious. I can't believe what some people are bothered by. #FirstWorldProblems for sure.

Why the hell do we have to endure that really dumb, and annoying, guy to be able to get decently lenghty gameplay videos of multiplatform games nowadays?
 
Man that intro is almost like they went back and got Ridley Scott and his crew from 1979 to direct the cutscenes and design of the game world.

The amount of love in this title is strong, you can just see it whereas everything A:CM did after they started showing stuff just felt really soulless.

It's a shame since the original concept for A:CM and the screens looked great and it is really too bad that game turned out the way it did.

But this video gives me hope.
 
If you want to see what the game is really like don't bother with this video. It's just the introduction. None of the gameplay involves the alien. However I will say that they've got the feeling of the Alien movie down cold. In fact after watching the clip I kind of wish it was a movie instead.
 
The game looks good, but it has been relegated to the waiting list for me. There are just too many games releasing so close together and I am spending way too much as it is. It will be nice to get to it eventually, though.
 
Holy shit, I finally understand the hate for this guy. I'd previously only watched his highlight reels and a goat simulator video. His tone and manner of speech fit well with games that aren't meant to be taken seriously, but with something like Alien where tension and atmosphere are key components he completely ruins the experience. I know he has his audience, but man, there's no reason to watch this video if you really want to get a feel for the game.
 
I have nothing against PDP, but I'm just not his target audience. Props to him, though, for giving exposure to horror games(fav. genre) and Alien looks to be superb. Can't wait for Horror month.

I'm not going to buy it, but I'll still take turns playing it with a buddy and a bottle of scotch before the year is out. Jump scares are the shit when you can laugh at someone else and yourself. Being able to taunt each other during the high tension moments could be fun as well.

I just sort of worry if it's going to be light on content and more reliant on replays and runs. Not sure if I would drop $60 on a game like that.

“The game’s actually about 15 hours long because we’ve got so much to do with the narrative and all the different mechanics of the alien. On top of that we have the other threats about the station, we have a big long story that folds out. Also it’s a bit like a Metroidvania game where you have a linear story you go through but you can also go back and explore areas you’ve been to. You can go back to areas and find new things, explore and open up new areas. There’s a lot to do in the world.

“The difficult thing is nailing a time because people can play for absolutely ages without even seeing the alien because they’re being really careful and really stealthy, they’ve done nothing to call him down or there have been no explosions that he has come to investigate. Those people can get through it fairly quickly.”

Game looks great. Really excited for this.

Kinda off topic but I couldn't stand his lack of Alien knowledge considering he says multiple times he loves the films and was eagerly anticipating this game. I don't even think he knows who he's playing. He definitely didn't recognise the names of the original cast.

Back on topic,
Samuels has to be an android like Ash, right? The wiki says Human but I'm not entirely convinced.
 
I've never watched anything from this guy before, or even heard much about him, but if that is usual shtick I'll be sure to never watch any of his other videos.

As for the game, they seem to have really nailed the Alien aesthetic. I desperately want to play it, but my PC is far too old.
 
Someone describe this for me.

YouTube videos with thumbnails that have some sort bright ass background and/or someone making some sort of crazy face I avoid like TLG avoids release dates.
 
Game looks amazing, at the library with no headphones so just skimming through on mute but I love the aesthetic of it.
 
Game looks pretty good, except the character models look on par with mid-tier X360.

Environments, corridors, all look really good. Didn't walk away with much from the video except that and I really dislike having faces in squares in the goddamn video. Why do people want to see their faces as they play? I don't fucking get it!
 
i always wondered: wouldn't having millions of people watch your single player, story based game played all the way through kinda discourage those very people from buying the game and playing it themselves?
