yes i can confirm 100% that this works, i bought the digital edition and the season pass as well and they both carry over for free to the xone. you can pick up and play any version when ever you wish and your character will be exactly as you left it on the other console. (cant play the same profile on both consoles at the same time though).
and to the poster above me who asked why do this and not just play on the better console. its all about circumstance. i had a 360 and a xone, my brother loves destiny so far and we are now both enjoying the game because i essentially have two copies (yes we can play at the same time on different tvs, he has his own GT). we also switch console all the time when he feels like playing on the xone which he rarely does. we can play our profiles just as we left them on the other console, progress also carries over.
honestly to me this feature has made destiny soooo much more enjoyable. but i guess its hard to appreciate unless you have multiple gamers in the house.

I have a small bedroom TV that has HDMI and a 48" HD CRT that only has component. I basically just want to play on the couch and relax instead of by a desk on a small screen. Since Xbox One only has HDMI support, I'd rather get both versions by raking advantage of the promo where you get both versions via digital, then selling the physical copy.

Nah, some Queen bounties are glitchy. Notably the one involving defeating 3 Fallen Walkers for me.

for those experiencing issues with friend requests on PSN:
There is a work around. You can invite anyone you want into a Party (voice chat party, not fireteam
) with the player search function. This was kinda slow yesterday but with a bit of patience it works.
Once you're in a Party with each other, highlight the other player, press the Options buttion and choose Join Game Session. You will now automatically connect to his/her Fireteam.
I did this yesterday and it worked!

How much damage does the DoT do? That's the only stat that makes it stand some chance in PvP atm. 6 bullet magazine, high recoil and a slow reload is devastating for PvP so I'm looking forward to that buff Bungie was talking about.
