I hope for a sequel to the platinum game that takes place after season 4 as either korra or a new avatar that way platinum can go all out.

Platinum games don't tend to sell well and the property of Avatar didn't exactly transfer well last time into a game, so interest outside of tv shows hasn't exactly been amazing. I doubt this game will sell too well. It was probably started a while back when Nick was a bit more confident on the universe and it's too late now to cancel it.

Did anybody ever play that Avatar nick.com 3d game back in the days? The one you could create your own bender and fight fire nation folks?

Obviously I'm nostalgia'ing as all hell but I kind of liked that.

I think a game based on Wan could work well. The opening section being the tutorial until he leaves his spirit friends to travel and find other lion turtles. You go around the world and as the game progresses you defeat a "boss" and then go to the lion turtle and gain the new bending ability.

Problem is, Wan isn't really recognizable like Aang or Korra. Keep in mind, he was only in a one off episode (er episodes). Regardless what one thinks about Korra, she's more well known in terms of a character/brand.

I think in concept, yeah Wan could totally work. The art style would be awesome for a game too. And the Avatar origin is PERFECT for a game version of it. But yeah, I just can't see something like that ever being made. Plus, I think something like Wan would require more than a digital download (would need to be a full production game).

Honestly, I think we MIGHT get some comics after this. But I'm no expecting much Avatar stuff once Korra ends. I really don't. We should be really glad we are getting at least this digital title. I'm actually shocked it's even happening (given all the shit that went down with Nick and the series).

Legacy of Goku 2 and Buu's Fury was great. Everything else is kind of meh,

Honestly if they made a Korra RPG like attack of the Sayins would be awesome.

Kind of surprise they haven't made a korra comic yet, but well guess going the TLA route is better when there stuff between the end of the show and aang's death that can be told.

Well, the Legacy of Goku series was decent..

3DS Korra game is gonna be terrible.

Don't know about the second one (seem like it was a improvement), but the first one was not that fun heh.

How could you bend wood? Could one focus on the carbon in the wood and bend that

has there ever been a wood bender? Because the reason earth bender jails are either wood or metal was because wood and metal are 'unbendanble' with the latter being only recently discovered that a select few can learn to bend it.

We had swamp benders that bended the water in the plants, but that's it.

The same team who did some of the episodes of season 2 of Korra also do Naruto most of the time right?

If so, then I wonder why they were so lazy with it, because if given the time they are usually really good at making fight scenes and what not.

Spoilers for Naruto below

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=g8fhckVzHCc

Did they not get enough time to work with or was there something else. Because I have no idea why the episodes they did turned out the way they did. They only needed to do 6, it's not like they were doing a 100 episode long series.

Studio Pierrot does Naruto, and did some of the episodes of season two Korra. However, that fight, and various others throughout the series, were done by other studios, if I recall correctly.

Not sure if you guys are into reviews, but I've been subscribed to this guy for a while and he's pretty cool. Check him out.

Haha, I was just looking at his channel a couple of hours ago to see if he had posted any reactions to the trailer, thanks for the heads up :P He's one of the better reviewers out there.

EDIT: The trailer is now at +3,000,000 views, wow.

I was camping this weekend so I didn't see the trailer until now. This is definitely one of the best trailers this franchise has turned out so far. I couldn't say for sure without rewatching earlier ones, but it's probably my favorite since the one for ATLA Book 3, which was put together for SDCC 2007. Interesting to hear about this being done by Bryke themselves; I wonder how much input they had on earlier trailers?

Anyway, it seems clear that this is not actually a "Book 3, Part 2", like some people were saying, but that shouldn't come as a surprise. I was lukewarm on the clip they released recently but I'm hopeful that the final season will be the best of the bunch. Hard to say what the story is about from the trailer, but (without reading any speculation whatsoever) I'm guessing there's some sort of coup or revolution within the Earth Kingdom that involes the Metal Clan as well, mainly based on that metal-ified EK logo. It sounds promising, but it would be their third revolution/coup storyline in as many seasons, so part of me hopes it's something different.

Regardless, I'm looking forward to October 3. :)

Definitely. He's really insightful.

3m?! Damn it Nick open your eyes

The big fandom trailer analysis continues, and this time, I think some fans found something interesting:

First, AvatarSpirit.net managed to grab a very hi-def screen capture of a particular scene that shows
Korra
and
Opal
back
in Zaofu
, possibly fighting
Kuvira and her army. Looks like Korra and Opal go to Zaofu and find a coup, or maybe, Korra challenges Kuvira in order to free the Suyin and her family?

Then, they also got one which shows
Varrick
in some sort of
lab with test tubes or energy packs. I really hope they don't go the "genetically modified super bender" route, so I hope they're energy supplies.

And huge spoiler thanks to fans translating that banner Kuvira and her army unfurled in the trailer, on the entrance to a town. It says
"President Kuvira".
So there you go,
that's her title.

EDIT: Another big one (I'm getting these hi-def screegrabs from the AvatarSpirit.net, but it won't let me link to them easily)

This could actually be one of the main plot points, and fans on tumblr have also noticed that
Mako, Asami and Korra at one point seem to be protecting a young man, well groomed and dressed
, which has lead to speculation that
he's the Earth Kingdom hair, and hence, a direct threat to Kuvira's rule.

It all says forbidden link for me ):

First link won't work unless you repaste and add www. to it. Something about preventing direct linking or some crap. Was getting 404 forbidden clicking it in your post. Anyways, inb4 that is where
Opal betrays Korra lol

I want to believe Opal isn't evil. But I think they'll do a dumb plot where she betrays Korra because Kuvira has her mom hostage. I wonder why Opal who is an air bender would be with Korra anyways on a rendezvous with Kuvira. Also that other shot of Opal in the trailer looks like one of regret. Either she regrets a major action or it has to do with Bolin. Either way she looks sad or ashamed.

Since I don't even have the slightest belief that
Opal is evil, I just don't see how Opal's sad face :( in that shot of her in a crowd is taken as a sign that she's doing something wrong. To me, it looks more like a scene where she's sad at what just happened in with that crowd, or something she failed to do. Convince them not to join Kuvira?

Heh President Kuvira eh? Guess trying to follow what Republic City has done.
As for the other point www.hdscreenshots.avatarspiritmedia.net/korra/022/0402.jpg
yeah that character is looking to be important, so be interesting to see who he is. Looks like he has some pin there.

Didn't Azula
disappear after feigning knowledge on the mother's whereabouts? She's also younger than Zuko so she could be alive. Out there. Planning. Kuvira is Azula's grand daughter confirmed.

I took the links away because they weren't working, but all screencaps of the trailer can be found here, at www.Avatarspirit.net

Based on them and what others have also written about and what we already know, my theories about the the main plot lines for Book 4 are these:

1)
During the three year period, Korra went of a "soul searching journey" to recover from the ordeal of the Book 3 finale. We see part of this journey and her return to the overall world.
2)
The new Air Nomads made good on their promise to do the best they can during the Avatar's absence, trying to preserve balance and peace, but they are no longer able to do so without Korra's help. So they go looking for Korra, specifically, Jinora, Ikki and Meelo are the ones on that mission. That's why we see them on their own flying over and then crashing into the swamp. Looking for Korra, who in turn was looking for guidance and found Toph.
3)
Kuvira seized control away from Suyin or convinced the rest of the Metal Clan to take control of the Earth Kingdom and restore order, being elected President by other factions of the ex-Earth Kingdom and Zaofu. Suyin was unwilling to intervene, but Kuvira staged a coup, with the help of Varrick's technology and loyalty from the rest of Zaofu's forces. The slight peeks at Kuvira we saw in Book 3 were meant to show that she was already standing out in Zaofu, even being featured in newspapers.
4)
But there are still those loyal to the Earth Monarchy seeking to restore order. The trailer features a young man being protected by Korra, Mako and Asami (no Bolin, he's with Kuvira apparently, so it could be the Earth Kingdom heir. Korra at one point fights Kuvira, which is probably when she decides not to support her claim to the rule of the Earth nation. Opal is with her.

They're not going to be airing this on TV?
Nope Nicks keeping it online only at this point for Book 4.

That's an interesting theory about him but he's also shown quite a bit with Mako so I kind of assumed that he was Mako's detective partner of some kind as they are both wearing similar clothes to those detectives in Book 2. But yeah that could be an interesting turn if he is the earth kingdom heir.
Suppose we will find out pretty soon anyway.

There's a bunch of other possibilities of course,
but I'm pretty sure they're protecting him, whoever he is.

Another thing I noticed:
The roof we see Korra metalbending is the same one Asami is knocking guards off of, and then we see them inside the wagon rescuing that guy from a trunk. They approach the train from a car in Republic City, climb up the roof of the train, rescue the guy, and are followed.

Also,
Bolin looks like he's escaping from Kuvira's army, or at least deserting (or was a spy, and found out?), an army which is apparently stationed right outside Zaofu. He tries to escape on a Mecha, is forced out of it, keeps running, defends himself with lavabending, etc.

Is Season 4 starting with just one episode or a two parter? I can't go back to one avatar episode a week after rewatching it all.

Every time in Korra when those violins start up and then the Avatar theme blares out as Korra, Aang or Wan does some Avatar state shit... aaaaah.

EDIT: From Reddit, just highlights how bizarre Nick's treatment of this show is:

I think maybe the problem is Avatar's key demographic now isn't anywhere near the same as Nick's.

I think the problem isn't popularity. There were fairly popular shows that were cancelled or slowly killed on purpose by Cartoon Network. This could be an ego problem. Maybe some executive does not like Korra or does not like Korra taking the spotlight of something else.
