Sorry I didn't turn up as I pledged, but I've been having problems all afternoon with my Friends app and the in-game Destiny friends list. However, on the odd occasion it was displaying correctly, I think your fireteam wasn't set to joinable by all. Maybe change that, and just start inviting people to your fireteam/party instead of simply sending messages.
My daughter started her Destiny last night, played through a few missions. I wasn't sure how she felt about it, he conclusion was "it's okay".
She woke up this morning and asked to play right after breakfast. I go work outside for a few hours, and now her Hunter has the throwing knife, double jump and her Sparrow. She's discovered the joy of stabbing things in the face, and of the shotgun. She doesn't want to stop playing.
I think she likes it.
It made me realize that, when you don't care about the story (she doesn't) and just want to run around shooting things and feeling awesome, Destiny shines pretty damn bright. She's having a ball.

I don't know if PSN is still fucked when it comes to adding friends, but here's the strategy for the weekly strike that worked for me.
What you'll need:
Sniper Rifle
A solid Primary
Sniper Rifle ammo packs
1. Stay up top the entire time. Start by sniping the minotaurs at the bottom.
2. While this is happening, the minotaur at the top will start spawning. Be ready for it. I shot it once with my sniper, then followed up with my auto rifle to finish him off.
3. Go back to sniping. The boss is easy to critical from up top, though he'll be constantly blasting at you and you should slowly take damage, though it's nothing to worry about.
4. Use an ammo pack as needed, and keep in mind that the group of goblins you killed before this cliff area might have dropped some special ammo.
That's all there is to it. Dropping down to the bottom just wasn't working for me, but this worked like a charm.

And in PvE they can fucking ressurect themselves
Nightfall strike -> all three die -> fade to black -> Fireborn -> screen comes back -> run saved. I don't want to hear about a "lack of benefit."

I want everyone to pay attention to what was promoted using most of the game's marketing budget.
That ad does not paint a narrative-heavy experience. It doesn't mention the Darkness or the Traveler, indicate that you'll be solving mysteries, interacting with interesting characters, or saving the universe.
It shows 3 friends killing hundreds of aliens with a variety of guns and abilities.
Considering how often I hear Destiny was sold as "more than it is," it's just hilarious what they spend that multi-million dollar ad budget on in practice.

This PVP is f*cking terrible...well the lag is bad. I just put half of a clip of a my LMG into this guy in salvage and he took no damage. I left the game after that, I have video of this smh

i would disagree. I destroy with randoms in those games with no voice chat. i always did worse with buddies cuz they rarely play it. Randoms in those modes tend to play them more, i assume.

We need new content in this game stat!
I'm looking at that and I'm not seeing how all of that is supposed to last folks until Destiny 2.
Good time to play other games. I've also reached that point where I don't need to play much Destiny in a week anymore. Just have to wait for 1st expansion for more content.

Same for the Golden chests, I'm missing one in every area, but I don't care if this is just a completionist thing.
hoping the expansion packs have some decent content for the price.
sticking together is how we win. i noticed that with randoms or with friends, if they try to flank or run off on their own, we tend to lose badly.

Curious how old she is. We've been letting the little ones play since the violence is very cartoony, and they watch me play anyway. The one problem we're having is that they are missing the co-op part since none of their friends have a PS4 yet and we don't let them talk to strangers.

My 8 year old loves it, she just drives around and sprays he cosomodrone.
My 12 year old LOVES pvp, until he sees me on it with my invectibe and gets jelly lol.
No splitscreen though, fuck you bungie it is war in my household at weekends me and the 2 kids fighting for the ps4.
