Just watched that Paris is Burning documentary and man, that ending and reading about what happened to the rest of them is heart breaking. You also really feel for them and their situation, explaining how Voguing and ballroom is an escape for them to live out their own dreams on their terms, while at the same time knowing full well they'll never have access to the white American standard of luxury and fame. But that they continue to long for some recognition and access to that, despite knowing that their very existence is unacceptable to the general population.

I kinda never noticed before even though I was familiar with Paris Is Burning, but a lot of the jpop group Perfume's dances are near voguing with the poses and all.

I think I also picked up on some of this in Kylie's Fever era dances and live shows where the dance moves were very pose based.
And then Robo Z from Bust A Groove....which is completely the video game version of these dance offs!

This is the furthest thing from what I'm familiar with and from the couple of examples posted in the first page I think it's kinda cool.
It may not be your scene, but I don't see how some of you guys can't even appreciate some of the physicality at work in some of these videos.

I am loving the outfits these guys wear too. Some of the girls as so fucking slick with their look it's not funny.
The first one was posted in one of the previous pages, but man, people were just not buying what Yoshie was selling. I thought she was really good.
Yoshie's a great dancer and has great personality, but she lost for the same reason Princess Madoki would lose the Final against Waackeisha: Great dancer, but she just wasn't doing a whole lot of actual whacking.
