Another possible avenue is things were cut/rearranged and are being released over time, even before or in between the DLC e.g. Queen's Wrath/bounties or Raid or Iron Banner etc. No one knows what Bungie's plan is for the next 3 or 6 or 12 months are exactly. They could be releasing a shit ton of content or story or weapons or areas or missions or characters.

I have to agree about the speculation of development hell, I posted as much months before the game released myself. I also think releasing on 4 platforms took its toll, the studio has mostly been a one platform studio for a long ass time.

Overall I'm still enjoying Destiny, the world and that gunplay hits the sweetspot. Great value for money but does disappoint in the story department.

Yesss finally a exotic bounty. Which one to get..a light in the dark, tolands legacy or a dubious task. I dont use pulse rifles much at all. So its either thorn or the shotgun..

Is it bad I'm already hoping for Destiny 2 to knock it out of the park? lol

I feel like this game has the potential to be one of the best but it needs work and in the next game, it needs tons of content.

So last night I got a blue Engram from the Nexus Strike that actually turned into a Legendary Weapon! Thank you based Cryptarch!

I got the Final Boss sniper rifle, which is good as I like sniping in the game.

The stats seem good, but I haven't tried it out yet.

It's a super. Expect it to kill you. Unlike the oneshots from nova bomb and fist of havoc you can, occasionally, outplay it and force it to be wasted.

Can't quote this enough. Exactly.

Golden Gun, Nova Bomb, and Titan Smash are all better supers. Sure I die at times to arc blade but when these others supers target you there is literally nothing you can do but accept your fate. I've killed so many bladedancers with machine guns, rockets or even my primary.

Plus you can hear arc blade activate from a mile away. Whenever I hear it I just back off.

This. This. This.

I've already played this more and gotten, in terms of fun gameplay, more out of this than I did with Second Son. SS didn't have a GREAT story, but it kept me entertained. The gameplay was also incredible, but I haven't touched it since getting the platinum.

Wait, using your super isnt a counter to someone using a super? what are the counters for Titan and Warlock supers then?
The super trio mirrors the golden triangle that Halo was always built on:

melee > grenades
bullets > melee
grenades > bullets

You triggering your super to deal with someone else's super isn't good advice at all. Supers are meant to be used to take out multiple enemies, generate light for your team and, potentially, recapture or reassert lost momentum.

The best way to deal with supers are to understand how they work. Just in general though, blinking away is awesome, it lets you dodge bombs and escape from rockets and their splash damage (this is something that jumping will rarely accomplish). A good bladedancer will trigger near large groups and try to tear through chaining from kill to kill until the juice runs out. If a dancer triggers and kills you and no one else, game wise, I'd say you won that because they didn't score multiple kills and won't generate many light orbs at all. The PvP is all about distance, and distance is probably the best counter when it comes to bladedancers.
I don't agree that using your super to counter someone else's isn't a good idea. saving your life and your teammate's lives while scoring a kill can mean victory. It is the difference between using one offensively as you've described and defensively (though reasserting lost momentum is certainly a potential effect).

you're also neglecting that if I am smashed by fist of havoc before getting a kill it forces me to waste my super, whereas his use scored at least one kill, and denied mine. to each their own, of course. I agree with your later paragraph except that the "if they kill you and no one else" part implies some omniscience; if they kill you how do you know if they will go on to kill others or not?

If you can bait a bladedancer into chasing you away from the action and killing only you before it runs out, I totally agree that's a victory.

Meh, I think Shadow of Mordor is a good excuse to just put this game away for a while. The Crucible is a mess and until Bungie decides to focus on rebalancing their shit instead of shutting down harmless farming methods I just don't see much point to playing. Since Friday my deaths in Crucible have overwhelmingly come from the Suros Regime. It's currently an "I win" button and until Bungie learns what balance is I'll just find other stuff to play because there are countless better and/or more balanced games that deserve my time.

I finished the Thorn bounty today. Next up is slogging through 25 strikes for Bad Juju bounty.

THE MOST FUN OF ALL BOUNTIES.

Gonna start another Nightfall. 2 folks who need it on PS4. If you've got solar weapons and ammo packs, I'll run you through it. Nicoga3000

sorry finjitzu... PSN's issues are really making me be unintentionally rude this weekend... i'm sorry ;_;

needed room for Evil and Stratosphere

Great post on Reddit: How Destiny's Content COMPLETELY changed over the last year (TONS of info inside)

Do you need an extra player for your Hard mode raid?

People are leaning on that cutscene too much as 'proof' of changes. Reach had scenes in it's pre-release trailer (the one only months before it came out) that were nowhere in the final game.

And you know, information from a year before release, where ideas might have not panned out and Bungie decided to cut them.

are people not reading patch notes anymore ? all purple engrams will turn blue on the day of the patch... decode them right now man.

All purples will become blue when the patch hits. Better get those decoded now.

Hollyshit, thanks for the heads up guys. I didnt even read what the patch is all about. My friend told me that they will fix the engram problem. So I just assumed what it would mean lol. Ya sure I will decode them but I doubt it will be anything useful.

Decode purples, but horde blues for when the patch hits. Then spam your rank up to recieve packages of (hopefully) purples from the Cryptarch.

So essentially I've heard a lot of opinions and reviews and stuff and it seems the vast majority of it says that Destiny is phooey let-down. What say you guys? Should I get it now? Or wait for a price drop?

The singleplayer campaign is a let down, but the multiplayer/coop aspect of the game is really fun. If you have friends who are playing it, the now is the time to get on the game.

That said, I have a feeling Destiny will be a vastly different game in a few months.

Head to head supers is a conditional and rare occurrence that rarely results in a clutch win. If you're tied at 49-49 and you see a bladedancer, the 'not-brain-dead' move would be to trigger and get the last kill to win the game (assuming you're fully charged).

None of this changes the fact that your list of counters is basically: use your own super or shoot it until it dies. My contention is that if you distance yourself from the enemy (and you can still kill people in this game from a distance) you won't even have to deal with a close quarters bladedancer. The best counter is a comfortable position. Supers are designed to kill you, that's the long and short of it.

And maybe I'm stupid and have no idea what I'm talking about. I've been wrong before.

THE MOST FUN OF ALL BOUNTIES.

You get 2 points for doing the weekly heroic. You have to figure out if doing the weakly at level 22 or the level 8 earth strike twice is quicker for you though.

130+ matches played in Crucible and I have never seen anyone on my team get an Exotic. I've received probably 5 legendary engrams.

And hoe many of those 5 were ACTUALLY legendary when Yuvraj u decoded? Just curious. Because my luck is super bad in that.

my list of counters exists because I was asked to be specific. "shooting it until it dies" is also god-awful advice with some guns and decent advice with others.

distancing yourself: great plan if the hunter hasn't seen you. if he has... eep. I don't know if you play a bladedancer. if someone sees me and turns and high tails it that could very well be a death sentence from any distance.

Tried the raid tonight, we got demolished at Atheon. Here's the finale of the pumpkin carving though!

Alas I am the only one of my friends with a One. And strangers annoy me, so multiplayer is something I don't tread into much.

lol, hmm, well
what's important to you? what are you looking for out of it?

Solid fun gameplay in a world I can get behind and believe in with enjoyable characters.

It seems that people are quick to blame Activision for the changes at launch... How are you not sure that it was a change in philosophy at Bungie?

Your tips list tells people to either panic super or shoot the enemy arc blader. Those aren't really counters...
I can consistently run away from Bladedancers. Being able to hear them activate and recognizing the sound helps a lot. Whenever I hear it I respond with extreme caution, and if I actually see a Bladedancer I just jump, run, swerve, etc. Works almost every time.

Damnit!!!

Soloing Nightfall weekly with my level 27 hunter, got all the way to the boss with good weapon selection and a sprinkling of extreme cowardice. Got to my cheese spot, get the Boss down to 10% before taking one risk too many and not backing off quick. Died to splash damage.

Surprisingly not too hard, as long as you can deal with the shields everything has, then just take it nice and steady, got to the boss in my second attempt.

I used this guide btw. As I'm a hunter I had to use a different method to get to the cheese platform, just jumped on a rock nearby and triple jumped up.

If there was a scout rifle that lets you equip both 'send it' with 'snapshot' upgrades and an FLA5 scope, I would be the happiest boy at the playground.

I don't think anyone willingly makes their story suck without some outside influence. Something had to have happened. Especially if the rumors that they gutted the story are true.

Nearly everyone agrees that the gameplay is amazing. Fun abilities, fantastic gunplay, clever AI, and it can be incredibly entertaining in a co-op setting.

The worlds are gorgeous, functionally very fun to play in, and some of the lore is pretty interesting albeit buried in the Grimoire system on Bungie.net.

Your mileage may vary on believability. It's a pretty lighthearted science-fantasy setting that doesn't worry too much about all the little details, but the basic concepts behind it are used effectively.

Characters, no dice. There are relatively few real named, voiced characters who have a real role in the story, and the writing is not great.
