I don't think anyone willingly makes their story suck without some outside influence. Something had to have happened. Especially if the rumors that they gutted the story are true.

But Bungie games have never had great writing. It's been serviceable, but unremarkable. You can blame Acti for cutting out missions and content to resell, but what about the line-to-line dialogue in cutscenes that are intact? What explains "Little Light" or "So, think you can kill a God?" I mean they literally named the two sides of the conflict "Light" and "Dark".

Hollyshit, thanks for the heads up guys. I didnt even read what the patch is all about. My friend told me that they will fix the engram problem. So I just assumed what it would mean lol. Ya sure I will decode them but I doubt it will be anything useful.

Honestly, I think it is a silly decision on their part. There are undoubtedly going to people who didn't read that far into it and will be salty as hell when all their work gets turned into blues.

I know they are doing it so that people can't game the system before the patch, but damn I bet their support team is not looking forward to all the angry mails that are basically guaranteed.

While I agree with you in spirit.. there's no telling whether or not the previous story was actually any good to begin with. I mean, if the story was gutted, then the previous version was probably more fleshed out, sure. But that doesn't mean it was actually good.
