We have now realized the error of our ways. Legendary engrams will now have a chance to decrypt into greens.

Rare Engrams won't decrypt into legendaries.

Getting a legendary now is befitting of its name.

We're nearly 3 weeks out and I still can't connect consistently to Destiny servers. To say I'm upset is to put it lightly. I get errors when I finally get time to play and spend 20+ mins just trying to log in. Unacceptable. Absolutely unacceptable.

This is a DDOS attack, not maintenance. And Bungie is pretty good at giving a heads up when there's actual maintenance. There's an in-game pop up when you launch.

Same with me. We did it kind backwards. Did the last boss first then went back up to it to get chests for those that didn't do the raid before. I got all energy/shards but of course not enough to upgrade anything.

And I got the Shader at the end which is kinda cool I guess. Looks like I fell into a vat of Tipp-ex.

focus on ranking up crucible or vanguard to rank 2 and just buy legendary armor. It's far more reliable than hoping for drops. Also, do the Queens Bounties when you can and get two legendary pieces from there.
