I'm inclined to believe the reddit post. If you see some old trailers, The Queen's brother seems to be a different character all together.
You literally see him once in the retail release.
I'm convinced master Rahool is behind this. He IS the darkness, letting our hate consume us.
my thoughts precisely. He's trying to turn us against each other before the patch. His last hurrah.
what if they just take his asset and blow it up to 20x size like the other bosses
The "alpha tester" story that his theory is based on is on Bungie.net.
Synopsis by memory in spoiler text:
You're ressurected from dead to become a Guardian but early in the story you're kidnapped by a Mysterious Stranger named Crow (not the same as the one we got in the released game) and he's there with a few other Guardians who have lost their Ghost. He reveals that The Traveler didn't actually bring the Golden Age but brought The Darkness that destroyed Humanity but over the centuries the Speaker retroactively changed the story to make Humanity believe The Traveler was their savior. He then explains a few missions, one of which being a twist on the Moon mission where you destroy the thing The Hive was communing with but in that version that thing was trying to resurrect The Traveler so it could finish destroying Humanity.
Nothing particularly compelling and a tired concept imo. But it could be entirely made up based on some of the theories that were already floating around.
Crazy how there used to be characters in this gameWatching the E3 2013 gameplay video... In many ways it looks the same, and in many ways it looks different. The Queen's brother shows up on Earth, and seems to have been a proper character at some point. WTF?
He should be a mini boss. Ever played Greed's Domain in d3? Somethihg like that would be so satisfying....Oh man, they should totally make Rahool a major villain in the sequel. Corrupted by tainted engrams and trying to take down the guardians from the inside.

"Unfolding mystery of who created the ring" - eh, more like a few lines of dialog. No, that was just Halo 1 I was talking about. All those things happened in one game -- and it was awesome. Destiny is a prologue in comparison.
That fits in with the cinematic from last year where we run into that guy with the funky voice who trains their gun on us. "I just want to talk." "Out here in the wild, this IS how we talk."
There was clearly a lot of narrative cut. I want to know the story of what happened to the story, almost as much as I want to know the original story.
Speaking about the story who the fuck came up with the Darkness? I mean, were the writer 6 or something.

So... what you are saying is we need to get these companies triple locked chastity belts?

They did, I think, actually.I'm still waiting to hear about what happened to Halo 2's original story. -_-

Bungie hired some people who used to work on Kingdom Hearts.
