This makes me sad. I'd sacrifice my first born* for an exotic scout rifle.

*I would like one but I don't think I'd go as far as murdering my offspring. Maybe I'd give him a Chinese burn or nip the back of his arms (He's 15 BTW. Not that I'm condoning child abuse or anything)... I'll just shut up now.
 
God, this random rewards thing is bugging me now.

I did a level 22 strike (I'm level 20) with some random players the other night, you know the one which ends with the 3 high yellow health bar Psion dudes running around whilst spamming you with Cabalt etc. The only way to finish this strike at my level is if you all team up and take down each Psion individually. Any other way is a waste of time, but could I get my fucking team to do that? Nope. They were running around like headless chickens putting a few into one Psion, then scuttling off to do another. Obviously no comms so we can't co-ordinate an attack and my god, it was frustrating. And then after 45 minutes of bullet spamming and getting nowhere they both gave up and fucked off, leaving me alone. I didn't want to quit out after 45 minutes of time so I thought I'd truck on alone. So I did and it was of course impossible solo. Luckily after 15 minutes of me getting nowhere two more guys joined who actually knew what they were doing, but even so, it still took a good half hour more before we took down the last Psion and ended the mission.

After trawling through the strike with only green engrams dropping, what was my reward after maybe 2 hours on one bloody level 22 strike? An uncommon fucking gun that obviously has no light stat and was considerably worse than all the guns in my collection. And of course the green engrams only decoded into shitty uncommon gear.

Bullshit.

I popped off and did some crucible stuff after that and started to pick up some rare stuff with a light stat, but after maybe 5 hours total play I've only got +14 light so still not really near hitting level 21. I came top in Control 3 matches running and only got one lousy rare engram.

If its all going to take that long and be that repetitive I might be about done with this.
 
Has anyone tested the reliability of the public event tracker site? I'm planning on using it tonight to get enough ascendant shards to hit level 29. Of course, I don't know how long it'll take because I seem to get Energies. It's like the game is telling me to hurry up with that maxed-out legendary/exotic gun trophy....

It also points you in the direction of nearby chests. Great for patrol/material runs.

It's completely random; took me forever to get my first one and then I got a second the very next day lol.

Lately I also keep getting energies so decided to max out some guns. In terms of the timer, the trackers are usually off by a minute or two in my experience.
 
Do we know when the Bad Juju and Thorn buffs will be implemented? Do they come with the Tuesday patch? Still not sure what to do with my Vanguard marks since I wanted the Shadow Price but ended up with a legendary Scout Rifle and a Pulse Rifle over the course of two weeks and I was already eyeing Bad Juju as my exotic bounty since I never use shotguns or handguns ever...
Having a potential Bad Juju and at least the legendary Pulse Rifle makes me feel like buying the Shadow Price a waste of marks, even though it was my most desired weapon right after Suros, which I couldn't buy.
Now I have 3-4 weapons fighting over my spot as primary weapon while I still run a blue Sniper.

Yeah. I dunno how faulty this logic is, but I think Exotic Bounties become way more common the moment you get your first.

The earth timers have always been extremely accurate for me. That is how I farm my public events.

Well based on something floating around the net each blessing has a particular advantage.

I started using it Saturday and really did not see much on my end. Though I did get an exotic from vangaurd 3 engram. However yesterday I got right around 10 legendary engrams and 2 exotic weapons. Never had a day as good as that.

I feel ya dude. I've given up on getting anything at all from RNG. Just put all your effort into getting Vanguard or faction rep up and buy your own legendary's. That's what I ended up doing.

Also try the queens missions (keep re-rolling for the restoration mission). At least you'll get a legendary helm and chest armor.

Tuesday's patch is only engrams according to Friday's patch notes, but it should be coming fairly soon. I'd imagine Bungie would like to get it out before Iron Banner.
 
In terms of public events: isn't only the first event the one with the guaranteed ascended material? Can't remember the last time I got shards for doing multiple events per day.

Yes, PS4! That would be awesome. I never thought I'd be viable for the Nightfall so soon after making my alt but it was good that I already had an exotic and legendary boots vaulted.

Is around 7 PM Eastern good for you still? I don't get home from work until then.

The greens are reliable in game, just remember to wait at least 5 mins after the time hits if possible.

The first one is guaranteed to give you a package at the tower, but you can randomly get one once you get gold tier too. The most I've ever gotten is one shard on two events back to back in one day.

Leave that boy alone!

I'm going to use it, perhaps once I've unlock it's upgrades I'll be more enamoured with it.

Scout Rifles are just less flexible than an auto rifle in PVP, and the Monte Carlo fills up my melee meter for every bit of damage it dishes out.

With a semi automatic like that you need to choose your battles, with a full auto rifle I can do whatever I like and mostly succeed.

Oh well. I guess I'll just get the Bad Juju bounty since I never use shotguns and rarely play PvP anyways. Even if it's a worse weapon, at least it's one I'd consider using.
This still leaves open the Shadow Price question. I don't need Vanguard armor for the stats since I already have legendaries and an exotic in every slot. It would only be a cosmetic upgrade which is kind of a waste, too. Not a fan of the legendary sniper that the Vanguard quartermaster sells...

I had that happen once when the game just came out. Late though, I've been getting energies for everything ;(

Do they run past the first room with the spinning cocoon (i forget what its called)? When i did it yesterday they would get to the doorway to the second room and then quickly retreat.
 
Did some poking around today in the world to see what Bungie has changed or hasn't changed.

To my surprise
Bunker RAS-2 and Seraphim Vault are still there as they were in Beta and just as easy to get into. Even dead Ghost was still in Vault, but doesn't give card to Bungie.net.

now, I only have the one that gives you 3 coins. how do I unlock the next? Also, there is a limit to the strange coins that you can earn each week? Please no.

Pretty. That reminds me, I found an OOB glitch on Venus on one of the missions, I'll have to post more about it. Didn't play with it much, but it might allow some interesting discovery.
 
Destiny is really starting to monopolize all of my gaming time. I got home yesterday planning on finally tearing open the shrinkwrap on the PS4 remaster of TLOU that I bought a couple weeks ago (I never played it on PS3, so I get to experience it for the first time), and then I somehow ended up playing Destiny for 5 hours instead.

The thing is, it's not like I'm having an amazing time playing the game. It's fun, sure, but my addiction to it has more to do with the constant push to reach the next level than enjoying the actual gameplay. Plus that Queen loot ain't going to be around forever.

is still there as well, couldn't find a way in though (they patched the old way).
Not surprised to see these are still in the game though, they aren't being used
yet
, but even if they weren't planned for DLC there would be no real need to remove them.

I guess my emblem is broken.

Last week I haven't made any progress in the game. I played all modes and difficulties, including the weekly/daily stuff and didn't get any legendary/exotic gear or weapons.
I also did a ton of bounties but I've never seen an exotic one.

I think this game hates me.

Just keep leveling up. There are four strike playlists (level 18, 20, 22, 24).

Same here - I want to buy Horizon 2, but can't let myself fall behind on Destiny lol. Also, thanks to Destiny, I now look forward to Tuesdays.
