So just to keep speculation alive. I have gotten 2 Jackpot Loot Chests the past two days with Blessing of the IV equipped. Never got one before equipping it. This one gave me 11 Spirit Blooms, a Purple (AKA a blue today), and a Blue Engram, and heavy ammo synth. What is everyone else's luck with these chest?

Actually, those chests are the only time I've received a purple engram in the fucking forever I've played.

Yes, guaranteed exotic, just not guaranteed for your class.

Correct, it will always be exotic, just a random one from the entire pool of exotics for all classes in that slot.

It's very mean though. Mine is arc damage and I can take down a level 26 Captain in two shots now. Saves a ton of time.

I get one a day or so doing patrol for bounty.

I don't have the blessing equipped. And honestly think if they did have bonuses, it would have showed up during data mining.

Update: We have off the record Bungie confirmation that emblems do not have any hidden buffs or bonuses of any kind.

Have you ever completed every bounty for one gametype in one day? (like all 5 PvP bounties for example)

I have a theory that you have a greater chance if you do because I was struggling to see one until I handed in the 5 PvP bounties for that day, all at once. This also worked for a friend.

Who knows. Worth a try.

Done it 3 or 4 times with PVE bounties but not PVP (As I suck at it) I'll give them a go tonight though. Thanks.

The only other confirmed item is a ship. I seen it during a PVP session with a random. Just the same purple/gold style as the armor. Not that great looking compared to what the Queen rep has.

I'm 40 hrs in or so and still don't have legendary + for my primary and heavy, it sucks man.

I did finally replace my lvl 18 Shingen with a lvl 20 blue AR yesterday though.

I think when it comes to PVP AR you want more rate of fire, so people don't use the Galahad much.

It's only the people who have "linked" or whatever with Destinydb.com, so it's a very small segment of the total game population.

Yeah i'm not sure specifically what happened with it, just that the data for the gloves is definately in there. Had a model and everything.

Another really weird oversight that i just recently figured out is that you get 10% more rep from the queens bounties for each of the shader / emblem / class item you have on when you turn it in. However nowhere anywhere in the game does it hint that it would have any effect on rep at all. Just turned in the 100 rep sepiks prime bounty from today and got 121 rep since I had the shader and emblem on.

I had kept them off all this time because of how ugly they both were :l

I can't check it right now cause I am at work but if you go to the queen vendor menu and hover over the little "reputation gain" or whatever it's called at the top/top right, does it say emblems and such increase gain?

Haha, just make new characters man. I spent the weekend getting my Warlock and Hunter to Level 20 to take advantage of their Legendary and Exotic armor I just had sitting in the vault.

Getting them both to at least Level 27 is doable without investing any shards in my alternate, so I could do the Daily Level 28 with all 3 characters plus public events and you can theoretically get 12 shards a day if you just get shards and no Energy, more if the public event gives an immediate Ascendant material upon completion which happens randomly.

That is also 27 coins a week minimum too plus 3 Nightfalls.

That brings me to my next question, is the DE materials (shards/energy) from a legendary always the same quantity depending on legendary/exotic or is it random based on a range, such as 1-3. I haven't DE'd enough stuff to know.

damn, i just caught the post about the original destiny story on reddit.

the game was delayed several times and it's clear when playing it that parts of it were rewritten or completely scrapped. is a shame because the original one, despite being somewhat unoriginal, is still very interesting, and it looks like it has a decent cast and scope to it.

i mean, anything is better than what we ended up with. a cliche or average story is better than none at all.

I thought I would get more Legendary Gear / Weapons for leveling Vanguard beyond 3; turns out I was wrong.

I got a Legendary Hand Cannon for level 3, then 2 Ass Energy for level 4 and only a single Ass Shard, a single Strange Coin and a Shader for level 5.

Might as well not have bothered...

Really? Depending on the Shader, those are excellent rewards, especially as you should be easily capping Vanguard marks 100 per week and able to actually buy anything you want.

Here's the DB info on Trials of Osiris. Here is the (I assume datamined) info on the Trials that state that you'll purchase entry with a Mote of Light.

There's also an Exotic Bounty that has winning in the Trials as a part of it's quest line shown here under the Bounty name of "An Unknown Patron."

As far as I know there's been no official statement on it and the bounty hasn't been seen after launch, so the specifics upon entry could end up being different by the time it does launch... but those are the details as of the time of discovery.

Destinydb is a third party site. The only reason to link to it would be to use some of the functions on that site (such as a shader preview that they have). Bungie.net is the official Bungie site and has official benefits such as being able to join a clan, redeem codes for items, and up to the minute accurate stats on your character.

Personally, I haven't linked to Destinydb because I really see no reason to allow them to track my data specifically like that.

One thing I don't get is why Legendary and Exotic gear rating is exclusive to level 20 guardians. In other loot-based games, there's purples (being the rarest rating of an item most of the time) that are for every level. These purples are good enough to be carried for a few levels, and then can be swapped out for a lower-rated piece that requires a higher level to use. Players might do this if the lower-rated piece has better stats than that legendary gear they've been carrying for five levels.

However, this series of features works better when it takes more than 9 hours to get to max level. Destiny uses RNG to pad out the time it takes to get to the best gear.
