Destiny |OT5| New patch out Tues., Master Rahool reportedly crying into his robes

Just an FYI, if you ever wanted to level an alt character, now is the time to do it. With the extra 5 quests, you can level up pretty fast just doing the quests.

This is false.

Any blue engrams found after the patch will always be blue or better now. Blue engrams you have now may still become green, but can still roll blue or purple.

What does ascendant materials promoted to legendary mean?

And what they need to do immediately is add matchmaking to Nightfall, Daily and Weekly missions. Like yesterday.

Shotgun followed with an instant melee is enough to kill a bladedancer and it takes more then one swing to kill a sunsinger warlock in arc blade. I would know since I have this happen to me all the time D:

I don't know what you're talking about, I die in one hit. And multiple shotgun shots are not enough.

Even if Hunters did have an advantage in PvP, they are shafted in end game PvE. Titan Defenders and Sunsinger Warlocks are just too usefull. Golden Gun class is only good for enemies weak to solar and the actual super does embarassingly low damage. Pretty sure a headshot from my legendary sniper does more damage than a golden gun shot (which for some reason can't do precision damage)

Blade dancer is the only useful one. Blade dancing is good for evasion and mobility and for clearing low level adds. Besides that its a useless super on high level enemies/bosses. The only thing the class is good for is going invisible and trying to res teammates.

Hunters are awfully good at clearing trash mobs/adds. Doing the portal part in the final boss fight with a Gunslinger who has their super up makes the relic holder's job too easy.

110 vanguard marks. Will hit the cap this week. Still don't know what to buy. I want a hand cannon. Though i don't need it since i already have some good primaries. Maybe a fusion rifle? Or a sniper? Or maybe the faster sparrow.

Defender Titans are the worst in PvP. Fucking armor lock.
Stopping the God damn flow of battle. I usually just walk away from the bubbles when they appear. I ain't got time for your games fool.

Hunters can't counter Novabomb so it seems fair to me.

Nothing better than bubbling over a capture point...I fucking dare you to come get me. Unless of course you have your super, than please stay out.

What is this stat showing? If its just the number of people of that class in Crucible then its meaningless. It just means its a popular class, not that its OP. Maybe people feel hunters are OP because there are so many of them so it feels like you always get killed by their abilities.

Gunslinger hunters are good for the Aethon fight because they can nearly destroy a Protean in the portals where you have to kill the oracles, but we had our defender titan pick up the relic and ground-bash them to death consistently without issues, no need for a super there.

I do pretty well in PVE, but yes they are not as fancy as Titans or Warlocks.

I want to, but don't want to take up time away from my main character. There is always something to do and collect.

My Shadow Price has the Radar Perk. I wanted Dr. Nope for that reason but I got the Shadow Price in a drop so I'm keeping that.

I have a Doctor Nope and the recoil is pretty bad (no way to upgrade mine) and the impact is extremely low. 72 shots in a clip is great and the ROF has to be among the best, but I am not the biggest fan of the gun.

Oh man this is the worst. Defender Titans in Control is just ez mode win. Unless you go in there with like 3 people shotguns a blazing or go in there with a super, a Titan with a bubble shield is an automatic cap.

Dunno man, Sunsingers are the one that kill me the most out of arc blade. 1 shotgun shell brings me down to about 35/45% health and then melee finishes me off and my first arc blade slash brings them down to about the same health range so the shotgun + instant melee after goes off before I can get another swing off in arc blade since the animation takes longer.

No, I was worried the rewards in the mail already may be decided so I saved some blues instead. I know existing blues aren't affected by the patch, but I have enough to level up the Cryptarch and I know if I get purps in the mail they will either be purps, yellows or materials. Playing this one safe.

You and I always think alike, why are we not fireteam buddies. I got my level 18 cryptarch to 2999/3000. I don't trust mailed items to not be affected (we don't know when the items within are "rolled" for, be it mail generation or the opening of the mail, so I don't trust it).

Stockpiling blues to try and maybe go two full Cryptarch levels. Remember, kids, do your Nightfalls FIRST before you try this. The +rep affects Cryptarch rep.

The Devil You Know was disappointing to me after getting it as a drop. I'm buying a Lord Highfixer from Crucible to replace it.

My first Shadow Price has the "grows more accurate as it's fired" and radar stays visible while ADS perks. My second has the glass half full and damage buff for reloading after a kill. They both have the agility perk which I love, but neither have a scope that I particularly like. (though, both have a serviceable option) At this point, I don't think the Suros will be supplanting them.

I was thinking about getting a "stock" one from the vendor. Thoughts?

What are the scopes you like? The first scope for the vendor Shadow Price is one of my favorites, the "box" with the red details and its why I bought it. It has pretty decent perks too, not as good as some other drops thought. I think it's worth it. I'm not a fan of the high RoF ones.

This is a myth. When i was farming treasure chests i was doind 282 yellow damage to regular Legionary in the area. I got a damage upgrade while farming, suddenly doing 320 yellow damage to them. These are enemies 8 or 9 levels below me.

Good to know. When I have time I'll do testing and take videos. The video saving from PS4 is wonderful.

I'm kind of dumb, but that's 6 central right? That time is perfectly fine. Accepted your friend request and looking forward completing that dang mission lol.

Haha, yes. It should be pretty easy, it's very easy to "cheese" and I have no problems doing it.

I think it means they will be on the same tier of rarity as legendaries (same drop rates).

Lol, well, I have never had ass-shards or ass-energies randomly drop, anyway.

Very different experience here. Maybe that could be the case with a Sunsinger with shield on.

I don't think the hunter's abilities are that overpowered at all. As a hunter, I find myself getting titan smashed far more than anything ekse.

When playing Striker in PVP, I take great pride in seeking out Bladedancers who have popped their supers just to smash them while they're haphazardly mashing melee. My "I win" button beats their "easy mode" button -- and it couldn't feel more satisfying. Unfortunately, it's literally the only thing that I've found that will reliably kill an arc-blading Hunter.

I predict lots of disappointed people when they release class balancing and Hunters aren't nerfed... Bladedancer needs to be reworked. Currently it's the worst class for high level PvE. Arc Blade is just a suicide button when Lightswitch modifier is active. Hell even if that modifier isn't active it still sucks :P

Honestly cant understand the hate for bladedancer when golden guns are insta-killing half your team from across the map but I wont complain I guess :P

I receive inordinate pleasure from Fist of Havoc'ng a Defender Bubble or a Bladesinger. My best kill(s), however, was running into an enemy bubble and dropping the Titan Defender Pulse Grenade.

It killed all 3 of them in the bubble for Post-Mortems.

[edit for new page]

er, i think they mean they're just making ascendant material purple instead of blue to better associate them with the armor they're used to upgrade. i mean, you're still guaranteed to get them from dismantling legendary items, although the engram drop rate for them might be tweaked

They're changing the label from a rare to legendary essentially.

Yeah. They are already shown as purple tier items on the engrams and on mission reward tooltips, but their item icons are blue. So they're probably just changing the item icon color to purple to match their current rarity and reward tooltips.

Hey is there any reason why a kept getting Titan items as my warlock? I was doing strikes last night and that was ALL of my rewards. Is it random or what?(first time really doing strike playlist more of a PvP player)

I can't remember the exact name but am fairly confident that my preference matches yours. It's the red rectangular one with the circular reticule instead of a dot.

It will happen soon. But not this patch.
AR nerf
Shotgun nerf
Bad Juju buff (pulse rifle)
Thorn buff (hand cannon)

These adjustments may come in separate patches.

Is this a guess or has it been confirmed?

I'm currently in the last stage of getting Thorn and it's a total bitch at lvl 26. I'm starting to wonder if it's worth it since I'll likely need weapons with better stats than Thorn just to beat it.

Anybody else saving their Cryptarch mail for tomorrow?

I am! I have two packages waiting for me. If the game determines the legendary engrams upon opening them and not at the time of receiving them, then I should be good. If not, they'll help me level up the cryptarch so I can get another package.

What's the best helium filament gathering area?

I need like, hundreds :(

3 of my pieces of armor require Helium Filament so I've been doing this for awhile. Chests are your best bet since you can get multiple in one. The most common number seems to be 2 per chest.

I the area you start at there are two caves, check each of them then head to the left past the big building and up to the Hellmouth. Here there is cave right below you plus a chest spawn in the rocks nearby. Then head to the platform on the edge with the Hive and one cave plus an small hole that can spawn a chest. Continue along the zone and there are two more caves before you come to the path leading away from the Hellmouth. If you go past this there are two more caves off to the right.

Then I go back to the path and go to the next area. I'm not sure of the name of this area but it has a large structure on your left when you enter. There are two caves on the wall behind that building plus sometimes a chest spawns on the wall of the building itself. This area has two main structures with lots of little buildings. Each of the little buildings with one room in them has a chance to have a chest too. Basically I search all the structures killing as needed for bounties.

Once you've searched them all the path opposite the one you came in on will lead back to the starting area and you can start over. Obviously while searching for chests pick up any you find lying on the ground. I consider those bonus. I can get the 16 I need in just over one loop. Usually by the time I make it back to the Hellmouth. Plus I finish up the easy bounties at the same time. Hope this helps.

Wasting your super for one kill is generally not a good strategy.

I am confirmed that Sunsingers are the most noble class in the game.

Sunsingers are not OP (bladedancer, gunslinger), not baby's first super kill (voidwalker, striker), or teenage mutant ninja turtles (defenders (though defenders are the most noble after sunsinger)).

Sunsinger confirmed for best class.

I'm sorry for everyone who has to go through Voidwalker to get Sunsinger first.

I'm at the point in PVP where I realize I really need to recognize what the classes are up to and when to run. Can I get some tips on things to look for?

Right now, all I know to avoid(?) is:
Blue hunter - arc blade
Blue titan - barrier
Yellow warlock - radiance

Hey is there any reason why a kept getting Titan items as my warlock? I was doing strikes last night and that was ALL of my rewards. Is it random or what?(first time really doing strike playlist more of a PvP player)

Random nonsense. If they are blues, put them in a vault if you wanna make another character. if they are legendaries... well you can do the same but I'd dimsantle for mats

I am trying to get a group together for Vault of glass, I know the level ingame says 26, but are we better off grabbing a whole bunch of 27's instead? I know the damage modifier goes up 10% each level above the enemy.... right?

Bungie mentioned Thorn and Bad Juju as exotics that were underwhelming and would be improved.

Did they not mention a fusion rifle nerf? Those things are fucking brutal in Crucible. I hate them.

That self-res though...

#YouAreMySunshine

If you're a Sunsinger you have absolutely no way to counter an arc blade though. If I see that shit I'm dead most of the time, even if with my invective shotgun. :P

I run sunsinger in crucible 90% of the time and yeah my only counters are the fusion grenade for a post mortem kill or if I'm messing around, the Universal remote
