wait, so one player can just do the weekly strike one time per week? And in order to do it more times you just need to get invited in some team with a host that hasn't done it yet?

if that it's how it works I guess you can farm it, still, I don't like the shitty restriction.

You don't get the bonus after you do it the first time. He is going to do it on 3 toons and then send what he gets to whatever toon needs the reward.

I assume trying to do queen's wrath quest as a level 22 titan is just ridiculous and I should not do it, right.

The only thing that makes them challenging is that the Epic modifier means you need to use elemental damage to weaken enemy shields. You'll only face a max of 2 elemental shield types during any story mission though, so if you load out accordingly I think a 22 titan should be able to solo one.

Unless it's the Winter Kell mission, screw that mission and the stupid shielded Shanks.

Multi-tool might be okay, but yeah Last Word would be pretty ineffective unless you're strictly taking out adds

That's why I was saying they wouldn't be as effective as Suros would be. Even Multi-Tool wouldn't put out the DPS quite as fast against multiple targets. There's a few places in the Raid where you absolutely have to put mobs down as fast as possible in order to avoid being overwhelmed and in that regard, Suros would likely outperform any non AR primary that doesn't have Void or a bonus against the enemies in the Raid.

Here's 2 screenshots of the Shadow Price that dropped for me. Check out the Talents and the stats.

Here it is with Perfect Balance:

the range dropped significantly for that stability though. Often heard that it's better tan SUROS, but it looks the same without those drawbacks.

I use my last word just fine in raids (together with my secondary and heavy weapon). The only part where I switch out would be for the final boss. I don't think there's any other part of the raid where I felt the hand cannon was preventing me from doing what needed to be done, at least where my secondary or heavy wouldn't be used anyway over a rifle.

Disagree on worlds and gear (where do you get that?), but story for sure.

not really sure how you're disagreeing with that. saturn is seen in that trailer, and there are several places that have also been glimpsed in other videos, like the reef, old chicago and an unknown hive location. there's also at least a dozen pieces of gear they featured prominently that has not been seen in the game yet.

destiny seemed grander back then. not necessarily in the size of the worlds, but in the variety of locales and activities therein, with a lot of equipment to find throughout. and then of course the story, which at this point is understood to have been relocated to DLC.

Joined a strike but got a phone call so left the controller, came back to 2 Legendary helmets and a new shader with 0 kills and assists.

As long as you clear adds enough to spawn the third dropship which carries Xyor then you can cheese it all you want. You don't need to damage the boss.

I saw this reply earlier and decided to give it a shot since I had that bounty sitting around for almost 2 weeks. Just finished soloing it. Was pretty tense/fun. The worse part for me was just getting to the boss room. Wizards are not fun :(

Has anyone else gotten a jumpship blueprint to drop? I had one fall off of a Cabal Legionary in patrol the other day, took it to the Shipwright and got a rare-quality ship called "Laughing Behind your Back..."

I didn't even know they were dropped items.

I got a rare blueprint from farming loot cave 2, last night a friend of mine got a legendary blueprint after completing queens wrath :(

I misunderstood this. Yes, better to hold on to them.

Didn't the patch news from Bungie say that any Legendary engrams in inventory would be converted to Rare ones when the patch goes live?

So better to turn them in now and at least have chance to get legendaries.

What's interesting about these kinds of posts is that, before FPSs had this leveling/grinding/gear element to them, people would play them simply because it was fun. I didn't play counter-strike to grind out new weapons. I played because it was fun. But nowadays, especially with Destiny, lot of folks seem to feel that more is needed. I am personally not a huge fan of Destiny's PvP so if there was no PvE hook for me, I would move on.

That's true, but people used to have fun with dolls out of corncobs, too - they didn't need a kb/m or a controller in their hands, and wars were fought in their imaginations. As technology progresses, so does our idea of fun.

Help me out GAF. I've read the posts and questions about the attack stat for weapons but don't get it: Does leveling up your guns from 267 to 300 matter if you are level 28/29/30?

Before seeing some of the comments I would have assumed yes, as by the time you get enough marks/materials to level up a legendary/exotic your Guardian should be a respectable level. It would seem a huge design flaw to have a high-level weapon for a high-level Guardian with an attack stat that doesn't matter.

Best Crucible game I've had (kill wise) and is the only way I can win a game...Would appreciate other people to play with on PSN, who can at least break even.

Yeah I got a couple including that one. Its actually the same as another rare but with a different name. Pretty lame.

There's always a chance at Ascended materials for Gold Rank in Public Events but they can also award Coins or Motes or no item.

My favorite activity when I am bored is to follow the publics on destinypublicevents.com and knock out patrol kill missions at the same time.

I saw on the last couple of pages the suggestion of buying gear to break down for shards too. I think this is the best option since gold tier always gives me vanguard marks I can roll all of this into one. :)

So should I save my legendary encrypted stuff for the patch?

Also I need tips for the nightfall strike, We cant just simply take down those minotaurs

What was your approach to killing the adds in the boss fight? Did you try to hang back in the room where the chandelier thing spawns? Or hide behind one of the rocks? Or were you just good enough to fight them off legitimately? I tried it the other day but I think I may have been poorly equipped for it. My blue primaries weren't doing much damage. My arc fusion rifle and solar machine gun were doing ok against the shielded enemies, but I think maybe I needed a better primary and swap in a sniper rifle for the final fight to pick off enemies at a distance.

Yes it matters. It adds damage to any target.

No, only legendary engrams that drop after the patch will be guaranteed legendaries. However, you can save them and use them to level up the cryptarch so that any legendaries you get from the package you receive at the postmaster will be guaranteed legendaries.

It does matter as it increases the effectiveness of your weapon. Your level is most important, then Attack. Now when comparing weapons of the same or near the same total Attack is when you'd have to weigh things like Impact (which affects damage per bullet), Rate of Fire, Reload Time, etc...

Thats pure BS, I have like rank 19 with that dude

People keep saying this, but from all indications Bladedancer is far and away the most popular PvP subclass. That doesn't just happen :P
I keep saying it in the hopes that other people will learn to run away too, lol. They really aren't that much of a threat, in my experience.

Chinese takeaway ordered and a night of Destiny awaits.
Ah man, Chinese food sounds so good right now.

Tomorrow is gonna be a great day. New patch is out that fixes engrams, I'm gonna level up my Cryptarch, and I'll be able to get more Vanguard marks to buy a new scout rifle. woohoo!

Re: Bladedancer being OP...

I can understand why people think Bladedancer is OP for PVP. However, and this is a big however, I think Bladedancer needs to be more powerful for PVE. As it is, I think there's a limit on how many kills you can get with the thing (something like seven, or maybe its seven hits?), which I think should be increased, and its "time in effect" should be amped up. It's something that should be used to clear out a room full of enemies, and on higher levels, it doesn't do that.
Giantbomb has a great article about the Fear of Missing Out on social aspects of games. I've been talking about this for a while and with Destiny, I don't want to miss a day due to possibly missing something cool or getting behind my friends.
I don't see this being a problem with Destiny. You can only get to level 30, so there's really not much you can miss.

I assume trying to do queen's wrath quest as a level 22 titan is just ridiculous and I should not do it, right.

You can probably solo the Restoration queens wrath if you are a defender titan and have weapons of light perk.

I was able to do that around level 23?? you have to have a sniper with flare damage to kill the shanks. Then clean the room out. Pop your shield to gain WOL then hit him with your sniper 3-4 times in the head and he is dead.

that's how I did it.

Try the Crucible, it's really good XP.

Haha. I have a level 25 hunter and have been making people rage quit in the crucible for a while now. I meant like I don't want to create a new character and have to do the story all over again because its terrible.

Edit: But yes, you do get a lot of XP for crucible matches. I much prefer the strikes and I'm still waiting for my friends to catch up so we can finally do a raid and nightfall strike. It's hard gaming when you're an adult with a full time job, friends, a social life etc.

I stood back in the room most of the time. When needed at certain points I went inside to pick off or draw lingering spawns back to the door then I would rocket/fusion several that would come chasing at the door.

Random thought but it's weird that I still haven't seen one of the crucible maps. I believe it's on Venus. I've done every map multiple times except that one. Makes me wish I could vote on the next map so I can finally see it.

I'm gonna play Skirmish for a bit if anyone wants to join. XB1 : kittens dx.

I guess my confusion stems from the fact that many say attack ≠ damage. But it must at least have an affect on it?

So attack increases effectiveness? How specifically?

Shores of Time? That's the best map in Crucible lol.

The most rage inducing thing is when you have a person in your strike that kills the shrieker when it spawns...

That thing is much more dangerous dead than alive and he just despawns after 8-10 shots.

I’ve done the Vault of Glass all the way up to the last boss twice now, getting both chests in the Gorgon part, and it has given me nothing but Ascendant Energy and one legendary shotgun that does arc damage.

Total shit all the way down. Can’t quite beat the last boss every time I attempt it because I join random people, teach them what to do to beat everything, but the boss—not to sound like an elitist prick—takes too much skill and coordination to beat for these groups I join apparently.

The raid can be exhilarating but god damn is it frustrating to get virtually nothing from it. Wonder what tomorrow’s patch will bring (if there will be a patch at all).

Wouldn't that make it more powerful than all of the other specials?
