What the hell why did the Xbone version sell so poor?
The only thing I can think of is that the Xbone's install base in UK is more core gamers whereas PS4 has more casual gamers, more likely to buy FIFA?

So that means roughly it sold 1 million copies across all formats, right?
PS4 ~320k
360 ~300k
XB1 ~220k
PS3 ~150k
The split for this SKU is fairly close to the hw split between the PS4 and XB1.

No the PS4 merely has more of both : right from launch the PS4 has maintained a 1.5 to 1 install base advantage that mostly aligns to SW sales. What the hell why did the Xbone version sell so poor?

More recently it seems Destiny and now FIFA have both favoured PS 4 a bit more (I.e. more than 1.5 to 1 ratio).

XBone sales are consistent with the user base: the attach rate is identical between PS4 and XBone. It's just there are 1.5 times more PS4s in the UK.
PS4 has a lead about 1.5:1 and the Fifa sales are about 1.6:1 in favour of PS4 so that seems about right.

More recently it seems Destiny and now FIFA have both favoured PS 4 a bit more (I.e. more than 1.5 to 1 ratio) so it seems over time PS4 might have a shot of increasing above that ratio.it's just more popular, sells more and therefore sells more SW. No need to imagine XB1 has some odd demographic spilt holding it back it just has a smaller install base hiding it back .
Because Konami aren't very smart. If they were they would release it a week before to cannibalize sales. Wtf is the point of releasing a football game in November
It wont even break the top 20 imo
PS4 has a higher install base. It's as simple as that. What the hell why did the Xbone version sell so poor?

Some people were even saying that with the Xbone bundle, that system would sell the most copies. I guess the price-matched PS4 Fifa deal put paid to that somewhat.
Last year FIFA even came out on the PS2, but not WiiUFIFA is on the Wii but not Wii U? Well that sucks.
Sales of Microsofts Xbox One edged past PS4 this week as the machine enjoyed a massive sales spike on the back of FIFA 15.
An anonymous retail source has told MCV that Xbox One hardware sales jumped 155 per cent week-on-week, presumably thanks to a combination of Microsofts recent price cut and the arrival of EAs game.
PS4 sales were up too, however, jumping 80 per cent with help of a rival price cut of its own but that wasnt enough to stop Xbox One edging ever so slightly ahead in hardware sales for the week.
Interesting, seems hardware was very close last week in the UK but with Xbone ahead. So I guess the fifa deal worked after all...kind of?

MSFT is slowly clawing their way back up the sales charts. It took a bundle with the biggest title of them all just to draw even with PS4.
I still don't understand why EA refuses to put FIFA on the Wii U. Porting the 360 version can not be that complicated.

They'd probably buy comparably to the other Legacy versions (Wii, Vita, 3DS). They already have the engine there, just seems weird not the flip the roster update switch each year. Maybe they think it'd be too much negative publicity versus doing it for Wii and handhelds?Would Wii U owners buy FIFA 12 rebranded as FIFA 15? Because that's all EA would do if they did port it to the Wii U. They aren't going to put the updated version of the game on it.

Too bad we don't have any sort of a baseline to compare this 155% and 80% increase to....
Well, at least that tells us that the PS4:XB1 ratio last week was slightly under 1.5.

It didn't chart in the 3DS top 5 either. Top 5 you say, don't you mean top 10? Week ending 6 September 2014 was the last time the 3DS had a top 10.
Oh and SmokyDave will be happy to hear the Vita and even the PSP still have a top 10.
I noticed (and mentioned) that in the last thread. I wonder why. The Wii and DS have top 5 instead of 10, and have for a while.
Oh wow, that's pretty telling, N-Gage territory. In comparison NDS had a Top 50 at the same point in it's life. I've tried to work out Chart-Track's cut off point for Top 5/10/20/30/40/50 before and if I recall correctly it seemed to be a prolonged spell below ~1000 units, although that was when the market was close to it's peak, so it may vary depending upon the market size.
What does PSV mean?
Why has DS been Top 8/9 lately?
If EA is serious about making money (and I think they are), they picked the economically better option between porting FIFA 15 Wii U or not. They should have enough sales data for a decent prognosis.
Look at the Twitter conversation earlier this page.

05. Hyrule Warriors (Wii U, Nintendo)
06. Tomodachi Life (3DS, Nintendo)
07. Naruto Shippuden: Ultimate Ninja Storm Revolution D1 Edition (Bandai Namco)

Don't think this has been posted yet in this thread, so Italy chart (week 38):
I realize the conversation has moved on, but I wanted to just highlight this phrase. I think "new multiplatform console" is just delightfully paradoxical.Ps4 has become the new multiplatform console, it seems.
Too bad we don't have any sort of a baseline to compare this 155% and 80% increase to....
exactly. hopefully we will see XB ONE hitting 1 million by the end of the holiday season and we will get updated hardware numbers. Probably.
I saw the twitter conversation, but the arguments made are inadequate. EA hasn't had a presence on the console since launch. They don't know how their new titles would perform. Theoretically porting the 360 version over to the Wii U should be low cost. Selling 100k copies over the course of a year would recoup those cost, and bring in profit.
This argument has been made ad nauseam on this forum, but at this point I doubt that economics are solely the cause and such it's confusing.
FIFA15 Xbone bundle is currently 371 EURO on Amazon.de, which makes it cheaper than the stand-alone XBone (375 EURO).
gotta go lower
Portugal 2014 YTD through August (GfK Portugal):
Console Software Units: 700,000
Console Software Value: 20,000,000 (-5%)
Console Hardware Units: 69,000
Console Hardware Value: £18,000,000 (+39%)
PS4 LTD: 45,000
Iberian (Spain/Portugal) FY (Apr 14 - Mar 15) Hardware Unit Forecasts (SCEE Southern Europe):
PS4: 550,000
PS3: 160,000 (21-22% Portugal)
So, PS4 in Portugal:
2013: 21k
2014 (incl. Aug.): 24k
That leaves 45k for other consoles (PS3, 360, Wii, WiiU - XB1 only launched a few days ago).
I bet most of that 45k is PS3
edit: uh, why is the hardware revenue in pounds not euros![]()
Rough Google Translation said:The Iberian Peninsula is an important territory for Sony. Spain is the third largest market in the world for the PlayStation, after Japan and the USA.
