Is Red Death worth leveling? It has a very slow RoF that pretty much cripples it, but wondering if the damage increases and the healing buff is worth it.

Plus, I think in one of the latest dev updates, Bungie said they're reworking/rebalancing pulse rifles, so I kinda want to see where it goes...but its pretty unremarkable right now.

We beat the raid on Saturday! Going to run it again this weekend if you're down I'll invite you.
There's a patch Tuesday that fixes some engram stuff: http://www.bungie.net/7_102-Patch-Preview/en/News/News?aid=12202
And I'm trying to learn how guns work: http://www.neogaf.com/forum/showpost.php?p=132162797&postcount=16909

Yeah I'd be down to do it. Nice work by the way.

Thanks for the updates. I'll be on for a bit later today if you want to screw around on daily mission or something. Dare I ask what level you're up to now?

What loot did you get in the raid?

SMHforever WHYYYYYYYY wasn't these in the fucking game... I'd say 3% of people would even go to bnet to read them... smh bungle

It really is a shame.

With all the speculation of "what went wrong at bungie" in other threads I'm starting to think they just didn't have time to add the polish needed. The core gameplay is awesome but the package could have been so much more with a few more months of effort on stuff like this.

>Survive Bladedancers.

Used by anyone with an IQ greater than 50, you're almost guaranteed to die outside of sheer luck. Unless you happen to have a multi-rocket tube ready to go and a good lead time on the target, you won't kill him, and even in that situation, there's a good chance you die anyway (most likely by suicide, as by the time you fire your second rocket he's probably right next to you).

What exactly do you think is suppose to happen with a 1 on 1 with a super? They have that advantage. You really just haven't been playing bladedancer enough if you haven't come across players that are good enough to kill you during it if you are just button mashing though. Especially if there is a group that isn't just bunched up (in that case any super would have one shot them all).

* Hawkian was added to your ignore list.

Haha nah, it's all good man. You aren't even the slight bit curious on how your Hawkmoon fares against a Thorn... for science?
Ahhh don't get me wrong- of course I'm curious- and what's more than that, I know. It kicks the shit out of Thorn. Thorn has a slightly faster fire rate, but Hawkmoon has a much higher reload speed, way better stability, substantially more impact, better range, double the magazine size... plus one, and a random 3 of its rounds do ~double damage. Outside of the interesting DOT aspect on Thorn, Hawkmoon is just flat-out the better gun, full stop, and I know this without having any idea of the DPS values you're researching.

Will be interesting to see how Thorn is buffed, because the DOT actually IS really interesting. It has no counter and could probably "steal" the kind of close kills I get from body shots all the time with Hawkmoon.

I officially deem my Lucky Raspberry my best piece of gear. I was disappointed when it dropped, and I've mentioned before how it kind of redeemed itself but it has now cemented itself in my armoury.

Spawn with grenade energy is just too good. Being rezzed in Skirmish and instantly throw a grenade into the fight? Yes please.

that does sound cool

What loot did you get in the raid?

Level 28, I only got ascendent shards. I beat it with skamawall (same dude we did nightfall with) and 4 other people from GAF. It was a riot at times but fun as hell. You can definitely make it at level 27, ragarra was even 26 for over half the raid. We have some strategies down but have some new ones to try possibly that would make it even easier.

We need to do the nightfall sometime after the weekly reset ASAP to reap the benfits.

I think they just couldn't implement it in time. There's no other reason, really. That said, they are all viewable through the app, and the app is fantastic. Really top of the class stuff.

lol 5 years development time -__- unless they only thought to make them in the last 2 months or something still completely stupid. It would have added soo much to the basically nothing lore wise in this game. but yeah the app is great. Still would have been better ingame.

Anyone doing weekly, nightfall or something like that and need what little help I can offer? I'm a lvl 27 hunter, feel free to toss me an invite: CptPierate

I can already picture it.

Sunsingers specced into ignite bolt grenades with extra burn damage using the Thorn.

After the thorn buff, I bet you this will be the most annoying, most damaging thing in the game.

Protip: the bonus bullets don't do double damage. It's 50% more damage at best.

I hope the upcoming balance update makes handcannons viable in pvp, because they are fun to use.

Yeah I've popped Blade dancers with my super. Always makes my day when I see a Hunter pop Blade dancer and I follow up with a Fist of Havoc with my Titan and blow them away

But if my super isn't up I usually just die if the Hunter sees me

How many OTs did that get to?

well it was before the 20k max rule the first one was like 105k posts lol and then not sure if the other lasted long until REACH came... hell maybe REACH is it I think it went to OT20+

Yeah the Reach OT's were absurd.

Pretty sure Reach OT's got to 20, and then we basically reset with a general Halo |OT| which went on for quite a bit too.

Loved that community, hopefully it comes back with MCC

Hawkian that's nice and all, but I'll believe it when I see the math... Let me know when you've done all the hard work for me! And thanks again for volunteering!

If I hear the sound, I take a position far enough away from any entrance to have a good chance at killing them, or at least lowering their health enough for someone else to. For some reason most blade dancers just mash the attack and I can get the kill. If they have the ranged attack it is harder.

Count me in for the raid. I'll be ready to do it whenever. I am about halfway to 28 I think and, maybe by the time we do it, I'll hit 28. I think I just need to farm relic irons to get to 28.

Ska is funny as shit to play with. I'd definitely be down to rock with that crew and whoever else wants to come along. His accent when he curses is awesome.

The reset happens tomorrow so let's plan on the Nightfall tomorrow night. Does that work?

red death and bad juju are polar opposites. juju is all bark and no bite, whereas red death is too damn slow for its own good. i wish red death had juju's speed and juju had red death's damage

red and green are also complimentary colors...lol

Hawkian + Hawkmoon = Ultimate Hawk Soldier

Can anyone please tell me the exact time of the weekly reset? I always went by the Speaker's vendor inventory reset but according to that it's on Wednesday morning and I'm not sure that's accurate.

3 Purple envelopes sitting at the postmaster. Wait until tomorrow or pop em now?

Even if they're patched to only give you blues you'll likely get similar results to opening all three now and finding 9 legendary engrams.

The chance of better chance is worth the wait.

Tomorrow night works for me for the nightfall, not sure but I'll check with ska.
I have no idea what to expect, and there might not be a cheese strategy at first so it could get rough, but its always fun.

Hold up.

Someone mentioned this earlier, but should we be doing the heroic raid with the vault weapons? They have those Oracle-related or Vex-related buffs that may prove helpful.

I wonder how long before Bungie has some mercy and allows matchmaking for everything (with the exception, maybe, of the raids since that requires a lot of commitment).

The GAF community has been really great helping me out with the weekly strikes, daily stories, queen bounties, etc etc but the whole thing is just needlessly complicated. I shouldn't be forced to assemble my own fireteam every time I want to do something.

Your Hunter does look pretty cool, Dax. I wish mine looked that cool, lol.

It should happen this week. No excuses.

We were doing well once we hit our stride with my playing battlefield medic when I go invisible and his last-ditch revive when things went poorly.

How's that multi-tool you picked up from the Nightfall last week? Looks like you full upgraded it. Has it become your go-to?

they mentioned in the patch notes that all purple engrams pre patch will become rare engrams after. Or did they reverse that change...?

We're not sure if any Cryptarch envelopes you get when you level him pre patch will give post or pre patch engrams once the patch hits.
