The heroic one yes. 22, 26, or 28. The higher the difficulty the more coins you get.

did not know that. man, I don't think I will ever fully understand how these things work.

How about regular missions. I have a bounty for the "heroic" version of a mission. I had assumed that meant I have to wait for it in the weekly or something. But I'm guessing not? How do you actually change a story mission's level?

And, uh, thanks for being so patient.

You can run all three diffulties as follows:

Lvl 22: get 3 coins
Lvl 26: get 3 more coins
Lvl 28: get another 3 coins

Or just run:
Lvl 26: get 6 coins
Lvl 28: get 3 more coins

Or ultimately:
Lvl 28: get 9 coins

Heroic modifier means you just need to change the level to Hard difficulty.

It's really cool you can select your subclass when starting a new character, but it's really uncool that I can't skip these cut scenes.
Cut scenes are unskippable even when doing the Daily Heroic Story. It's so stupid.

I think it would be better for everyone if Bungie just showed a slot machine reel for JUST YOU (maybe your fireteam) and no one else's. Who cares what random people get? It doesn't do anything but piss you off. If they just hid that stuff there's be a lot less teeth gnashing.

They never should have shown the rewards. It's painfully simple why rewarding the winners over the losers is a bad idea, and yet we still see posts.

You really wanted those greens and whites huh?

When you select a level and you see level 12 in green, click on it, and you can select a difficulty up to lvl 28, the yellow means that the heroic modifier is on.

Level 29 baby!!

OK I'm going to take stock and ramble a bit. Sorry in advance about the length.

1. This community is amazing. Seriously. I've been really ill the last few weeks (and still recovering now) and Destiny has been my go-to for escapism, helped by some really cool GAFfers. I've had some amazing games with posters in this thread, so thanks you guysss.

2. I know we moan about RNGesus etc, but does anyone else at levels 27+ actually have loads of legendary weapons now? I seem to keep receiving them. I don't think I've ever actually bought a legendary weapon and I have maybe 8 or 9 now. None are as good as Gjallarhorn though. :P

3. I'm one of the 2 people in the world who think the lore is actually really good. The Vault of Glass is the peak (showing how the Vex can move instantly to Venus and Mars and how they move in and out of time) but each of the factions is interesting - whether it's the Hive moving between dimensions and burrowing underneath the surface of planets to set up torture pits (check out the hooks hanging from the ceiling) or the Fallen's internal politics (Archons, Kells, Houses and Servitors), I find it all fascinating. The settings are interesting too - especially Venus's mix of forests, the Ishtar research area and the Vex's eerie architecture, the Archer's Line on the Moon and the Hellmouth. I actually prefer reading into it and letting my imagination do most of the work (although I completely agree that the in-mission storytelling is shockingly bad).

and finally...this game is the most addictive thing I've played in years and years. That's the bottom line, regardless of all of its flaws. I'm on about 90 hours now and I still look forward to Crucible matches and I haven't yet finished the Raid (on any difficulty). I was meant to go to bed a couple of hours ago as I have an early start tomorrow but I just had to finish two crucible bounties. Then I had to just finish off ranking FWC to 3. Then I just had to go and find those last spirit blooms I needed to get to Level 29.

It is widely known at this point that Crucible loot is generated randomly regardless of performance, yet every day there are so many gripes about it. You KNOW it random going into it so what's the point in moaning?

People are really getting upset about the randomness of Crucible rewards, but it has never bothered me. I think the reason is that my "reward" is the amount of fun I'm having in any given match. The item reward is just a nice bonus, if it appears next to my name.

Well, that and the fact that I got an Exotic hand cannon as a Crucible reward in my first few matches... tee hee

Curious: how many hours have you all played plus how many of the following have you found?

Exotic weapons (including bounties)
Legendary weapons

76 hours 24 minutes

0 exotics
0 legendaries

I bought an exotic the other day from Xur. Bought all my legendaries from Crucible vendor. Almost crucible rank 3, so I'll have a legendary weapon then.

Pretty fucking lame.

It's shit stat wise but damn do I like how
set looks with Raid shader, I equipped it just for some PVP today for some weird reason.

Dropped me from 29 to 24 lol.

Wish the stats matched it's badass looks :( I want to use it more often!

What helm is that? Never seen that one before

It's an unfathomable game choice, at least if the cutscenes were worth watching,

Can I buy gear from the Hunter level 20 vendor, if I'm a Titan? Or am I locked to my vendor only.

This game is fucking awful. We won, I was top player.

Screw this.

.
Pfft, that's not even as bad as when I was top player, 25 kills, 2.5 K/D, we won, and EVERYONE on my team got at least a rare, EVERYONE except me, who got nothing. RNG is a hateful entity.

Ah sorry about that aha. I thought you meant legendary gear! I believe the top 3 should get some blues at the least and a chance at legendary engrams. The bottom three should have a chance for blue and no legends gear. At the end of the day the game should reward you mostly from grinding not PvP IMO

As long as dead last stops getting exotics so we don't feel like we're getting slapped in the face constantly. I think Iron Banner is supposed to be the PvP equivalent to raiding, which is great. I feel like those people who prefer to PvP should be able to keep up with the PvE players in light levels doing their preferred content. The Iron Banner gear may have effects similar to those found on raid gear, but specifically designed around PvP, like extra super for killing a Hunter or whatever, and I think that would be great for those guys, while also providing a necessary difference in skills so the gear isn't too similar to that of PvE gear, and wouldn't be optimal for different content.

Saltyness.

I went on an amazing 6.0 K/D in that one round, and some other bugger got the legendary weapon I always wanted. It's not fair!! *pouts*

Damn. I have 26 hours in and got two legendary chest pieces and 1 exotic helm (wrong class) from drops.

That's some epic bad luck. In 50 hours I found (not bought) 1 exotic bounty, 1 exotic weapon, 1 legendary weapon and 4 legendary armor pieces (3 for other classes).

You lucky son of a... According to bungie.net, I've played 153 Crucible matches and I have yet to see myself or anyone else get an exotic weapon. If I didn't read about it online I never would have known you can get them in the Crucible. Oh well, maybe someday I'll get a lucky roll.

I'm not a big fan of scout rifles but I want to upgrade this one to see how it is

And I meant another primary weapon with elemental damage I got this one yesterday

I believe all of the legendary primaries he drops all have some type of damage element on them. The AR he drops is void damage.

I rather have the marks and experience anyway.

Besides if it was based on performance, then all the baddies would quit.

50 hours, 0 exotic weapons (2 incomplete bounties), 1 legendary weapon.

At least leveled up Crucible Rank to get Legendary gear + the one Exotic chest armor I got. LVL 27 now, but still mostly shooting with Rares.

Most MMOs keep PvE and PvP gear separate and there are very good reasons for that.

Also, remove the goddamned PvP shit from the Exotic weapons bounties.

Actually I think the Trials of Osiris is going to be like the PvP equivalent of raiding. It's the thing where you have to spend a Mote of Light to enter, and you get kicked out after a period of time. I think PvP is fine the way it is, with the rewards completely unrelated to performance. But yes, there should be an element of competitiveness to PvP, and I think that's where things like this Trials of Osiris come in and will shine (hopefully) and skill will be rewarded.

Lol well fair enough but the next round you or whomever may have a bad game and leave with something fist-pumpingly good.

Fully agree

120 hours according to bungie app ( I need a break)

5 bounties I found 3 exotics
Around 12-15 lengendaries ( vault is maxed of exotic/ lengends

I don't think anyone has really asked for it to be 100% performance based. But the system can absolutely weigh in favor of the best player on the team and keep the same random system for everyone else to not leave the bottom out of the potential drops.

So, should players who come last in strikes and the raid no to be allowed to get Exotics too?

Taken out of context, since this is specifically referring to PvP. Being last in PvE is completely different, especially in raids, where everyone has a specific job that can alter how you play, and doesn't necessarily mean you are doing badly.
