You might as well check those out now, Bungie has said that none of the engrams pre-patch will be changed in how they work.

Where did they say that?? Also, If you hold your engrams and check them in after the patch, the legendary engrams that you will earn for upgrading the cryptarch will be better.

Legendary armor pieces from the raid, when fully upgraded, give 30 light, just like Exotics. The only way to get to level 30 currently is with 3Raid +1Exotic or all 4 Raid, all fully upgraded of course.

And they have nice bonuses on them similar to the exotic pieces too.

It's also why the "first level 30 in the world" basically means "one of the luckiest players in the world". After all, a friend of mine got 3 Raid pieces his first run. Meanwhile after two weeks fully completing the raid both weeks, I still only have one raid piece and some of my group mates have none.

Wow, thanks. I had no idea. I'll see if my current gear is enough for a raid then. Wouldn't want to waste the shards on gear before I get raid gear.

That's actually a good way of ducking the stored engram nerf. I have a Cryptarch reward coming up so I'll probably hold off on identifying anything else until after the patch.

I have the guy an engram away from leveling up, and been storing every blue I came across in the last 3 days. I have like 20-21 engrams to decrypt, stored in the vault & inventory, just waiting for this fucking patch to hit. I figure that might be an effective way to bypass that "legendaries will turn into blues after the patch hits" bs. If they still manage to fuck me over I'm gonna be mad as hell. I'm pretty sure I can get like 6-7 legendaries from all the scavenging I've been doing, and the rewards weren't claimed yet (they're not even in the postmaster) so I reckon they can't be demoted, right?

I asked this same question like 8 pages back but no one had an answer. Can't really blame anyone as it's not something we can know for a fact. All I can hope for is that it actually works and that can end this blue dude's bullshitty practices. He's nothing but a scammer. Hate you, Rahool.

I'm not saying this to rub salt in the wound, but you really should keep at it, as the sniper is worth it. Sure, it's pink and whatnot, but it comes in handy against wizards and everything weak to solar. I really like it and has saved my ass many times. Nexus, for instance, drops like a fly to it, even on Nightfall. Just keep rerolling the mission until it lands on Restoration, it can be done in less than 10 min, and as far as I know, the mission you complete has no relation to the reward whatsoever.

I know it can be frustrating as fuck (did like 10 missions, got a helmet, the sniper, and 8 chest pieces in a row) but eventually you should get it..

They said in the announcement that the change only effects engrams that drop after the patch.

Keep in mind the legendary sniper from the queen's missions is randomised. I've received two so far, one void and one arc.

burned my blues because no patch and I was going to need space soon : got the future war cult purple shotgun. Cool but I don't use shotguns, not worth it in end game, as the range is shit and you get teared down if you come to close compared to fusion. I dissembled it and and now I have a maxed out Suros and a trophy.

Also, I got rank 20 and 21 with the crytarch and he gave me twice two blues engrams.

They don't give an actual firm date as far as I know. I'm not sure where Tuesday was pulled from but would love to see a source.
