Any romantic pairing with Mako in it will be complete bullshit unless they actually address Mako's horribleness as a boyfriend in Book 2, rather than just pretending it didn't happen. The same thing is true to a lesser degree of Korra herself.

Edit: I agree with you that it was also weak that Asami wasn't angry again after Mako didn't tell Korra him and Asami were dating again. I can't tell if she was mad since they didn't address it. Kind of dont think they will. But your points are valid. Any romance will be bad at this point since that won't be addressed. I still think Mako and Asami would be the least worse though given what has been already done.

But you make a good point why it would be awful (that Makos shitty treatment of Asami was never dealt with).

I thought he was OK in book 2, I mean korra was shit to him, they broke up, so him and Asami rekindled their lingering feelings for each other.

Problem is, Mako cheated on Asami and left her for her friend. Asami never reacted to this. She was never hurt or angry. The second her Ex is single she jumps at the opportunity to date him again. They start dating but then Korra doesn't remember them breaking up and Mako doesn't have the balls to tell her. Thus Asami was treated poorly again by the same guy.

So yeah he has a point that Asami never having an issue with Makos behavior is weird. But I feel like they've already swept it under the rug so it's not going to be a factor. It sucks, but it's how they dealt with it. I do think he's right in that any romantic pairing will be bad at this point. Mako and Asami would be bad for all the reasons he said above. I guess I just think they make the most sense though going into a final 13 episode stretch. They have the most to actually work with.

I wonder how they'll reintegrate Korra post-timeskip. Will our perspective be entirely with the rest of the crew until Korra shows up unannounced in a time of crisis, with flashbacks coming after that point? Or will it juggle between the two perspectives the entire time? It seems like she's been gone so long that it would take a big reason to come back, unless her recovery just coincidentally ends after three years.

NOT YOU WEARING AN ICON A AVATAR

YOU BETTER STAN!!!

I've always liked Asami. In fact she was my favorite character in Book 1. When I got my art book signed by Bryke they asked what drawing I wanted and I asked for Azula and Asami. :)

Obviously not have been happy with how they've used her though. Which sucks because I think coming out of Book 1 she had the most compelling story to progress her character.
I still have your post on Asami as a female character saved. Always bust it out when people talk about the bad writing on this show with the characters.

You should just take this Avatar and get rid of the wrestler. I'll gladly have no Avatar if it meant Satch had a Godsami avatar :p

You're right. I wonder how they'll handle the relationships (platonic) between the characters during and after the time skip. Looks like it was just Mako and Asami in Republic City....

...might get lonely...

opening scene with asami happens. sometime shortly after, the prince is attacked. mako and asami try to protect him. korra shows up. they go on train chase or whatever. this gets resolved somehow. then everyone chit chats. korra tells the story of her pilgrimage in flashbacks, then the show goes on.

no you need to keep yours, Roman has to remain

They kind-of did stretch out most of the Krew for the timeskip, especially Bolin if you see the hi-def screencaps from the trailer, he's definitely less stockier. Mako is now close to freakishly slender.

Where are these screencaps

Behold. Can't link directly to the screenshots, but I think this link works. If not, just go to www.Avatarspirit.net and find them on their post about the Book 4 trailer.

Beware, a lot of those screencaps have spoilers if you look closely, and give us a good idea about the overall basics of the plot.

After I analyzed some of them, theres only about 3 or 4 episodes in that trailer, guessing by the sequences.

I was checking the credits of the S3 finale (because like a dummy I only just realised creepy armless water lady has Azula's VA), noticed Kuvira is voiced by Zelda Williams. That's cool.

I haven't caught up with Korra since finishing up season 1. I'll catch up this week though.

Without spoiling anything, has she gained lots of character development since Book 1? I remember feeling like she needed a lot of growing up to do as the avatar.

Skip season 2. It's a clusterfuck. Just go with 3 and you'll be ok.

A bit of yes and no as Korra as a character regresses quite a bit in Book 2 but thankfully she's a much better character in Book 3 and 4 looks to continue that.

Come on now Book 2 still has some pretty decent episodes despite its many issues and the second half is a definite improvement after the first half.

Thanks guys. Season 2 is that bad, huh? I'll still truck through it just for story's sake.

I shouldn't have done this, but I went ahead and watched the book 4 trailer out of morbid curiosity (I won't spoil anything else) and I have to say, Korra looks way more serious compared to book 1. If she doesn't seem to grow up to the point of the events beginning on book 4, then i'll be disappointed. I was hoping all the shit she went through in the past 2 seasons would straighten her up some.

It's not that bad, don't let the haters on GAF put you off it. It has a lot of problems but people here act like it's the worst thing ever. Nowhere else seems to have quite the same hate boner for it.

my one guess for the season:

varrick does the heroic sacrifice thing. whether he dies or not i'm not sure, but the look on his face in the trailer and everything going on around him seems like he's determined about something and not exactly happy about it.

i think as a one-time go it's not that bad. i generally enjoyed it, and really loved the middle episodes (they're very obviously the middle episodes). my only issues have to come with the ending and how actually crazy it gets in the last ten minutes or so.

at least it's not actively bad like young justice.

Added myself Azula, hope it is ok.

OK trailer talk

Short hair Korra>>>>>>long hair Korra
Either Asami´s father got out of jail, or Kuvira took over his plant. If they want to go really dark, then Asami would join her
3 years time skip is unexpected to me, but looks great.

Question regarding the Toph bet:
Does on screen include or exclude flashbacks to the past?

It should exclude a flashback because we need to see her at her current age.

Yep short hair Korra is best Korra.
Possible Future spoilers
Well the voice actor for Hiroshi Sato said in an AMA earlier this year that his character is coming back. He didn't show up in Book 3 so its safe to assume he'll be in Book 4 in some capacity.
I doubt Asami will turn evil now after all the stuff she's been through with Korra and the Krew.

Wingsuits are pretty cool in motion.

It isn't really vigilante, is it? I thought the Air Benders are supposed to be some international peace force and quite official. I see them a bit like Green Lanterns.

Or the Jedi trying to keep balance.
