Quick question guys:

I've got a Legendary Gauntlet at +22 Light (every upgrade except the column that uses Ascendant Shards).

Do you know if the first Ass Shard upgrade gives you +1 or +2 Light? I'm 2 Light away from Level 28. I didn't wanna spend shards on non-raid gear, but if I can get an extra 2 Light with a single ass shard upgrade I'll do it.
 
Got the Thorn bounty and I'm up to the Crucible portion.

For those that have done it. Is it best to play Rumble for the bounty or should I go with Control? I have a pretty nice void fusion rifle that should be able to get the job done.

The patch consisted of like 1 change lol,not sure why people keep thinking it's game altering. Engrams always decrypt to same or better quality. That's it
 
If anyone on PS4 could help me kill Xyor, the Unwed for the Thorn hand cannon bounty, that'd be awesome! It's a level 26 Summoning Pits strike but you don't have to kill the final strike boss, just an add that spawns during the fight.

I'm a level 26 Titan but it's super hard solo. Anyone available? I know LastGamer84 is doing it as well so hopefully he/she can join me!

Wow this patch has made it so that engrams rain everywhere. This game just got a whole lot more colorful. Each strike is like walking through a rainbow.

I did not finish that particular quest, but had to do some PVP for my Invective. I prefer Control because they focus on other objectives like capturing the flag, and now looking at that Radar tracking you down to kill you.

In my opinion it is easier to get a good record in Control. You can catch people standing still aswell, which is nice.

It's the best - even better when you have the upgrade to hold 2 at a time!

Rumble is definitely the way to go the kill count is usually higher although I had Shotgun for that task. Stay away from control it'll take a lot longer.
 
So now on the final boss of the raid and calling it a night.

Hopefully Xur has a nice exotic helmet for me this weekend so I can switch out my exotic.

I just wish there was a multiplayer mode that wasn't reducable to just effectively being deathmatch.

It also means that playing the objective isn't as much in your favor as just killing. Which is nonsensical for an objective oriented game type imo.
 
Lol so the postmaster only gives blue engrams now? Level'd up the cyrptarch, got nothing but blues. Never had that happen before.

Reward : purple engram
Finally got : 2 ascended Shards

Trolling on a new level :D

But I need Ass Shards anyway. So no hard feelings bungie! Love ya!

Okay.... that means the team that has 2/3 of the control points really really sucks. If you hold on to two points the other team needs 2 kills for everyone one they get on your team. Think about that.
The control points are score modifiers thats all they are.

They are actual items, not engrams, from factions other than Cryptarch. And you'll get something every level from 3 onward. For Vanguard it seems to be something randomly chosen from what they sell (or some ascendant mats). Rep like New Monarchy or FWC can give items not normally available through their vendors. As an example, I got a FWC sniper rifle at 3.

Yes! He has really excellent exotic weapons. Try to have 23 strange coins ready in case it's a primary. Otherwise secondaries and heavies are slightly cheaper.
 
The only gripe I have with a Control map is when I get Twilight Gap and start at A. The other team camps B and C and it is next to impossible to win those back as they offer that team control over 75% of the map. 80% if you count sniper LOS.

I'm on the exact same portion but I am absolutely awful at PvP, just don't have the reflexes.

I worry that I will never be able to finish this. I played Rumble for an hour or so yesterday, got to 20 or so points then had a bad run and lost them all after that....stuck at 0 out of 500 right now :( Feels bad

I had that happen multiple times before the patch. The mail from the Cryptarch has always been RNG.

If it was a close match by points and your team truly held 2/3 points the majority of the match, then the other team was killing your team a LOT more than your team was killing theirs.

It's sort of like how in blind watch you can camp b & c to force the opposing team to spawn at a. Since the routes from a are limited you can basically just spawn camp the opposing team as they get funneled into your death trap.

You're talking as if having a slayer / objective hybrid gametype is inherently bad, which isn't the case at all. You just don't enjoy it. I agree with you that the game could use some pure objective gametypes, though.
