Anybody else keep getting booted back to orbit over and over?
Oh yes he does! Get your strange coins ready for the weekend!
Yes! He has really excellent exotic weapons. Try to have 23 strange coins ready in case it's a primary. Otherwise secondaries and heavies are slightly cheaper.
I'm on the exact same portion but I am absolutely awful at PvP, just don't have the reflexes.
I worry that I will never be able to finish this. I played Rumble for an hour or so yesterday, got to 20 or so points then had a bad run and lost them all after that....stuck at 0 out of 500 right nowFeels bad
Second week running I finished the raid and what for? A handful of ascendant materials and a shader I already own 2 of.
Nah, it's not inherently bad. I think it's only inherently bad when there's so few game types as it is. It all ends up just playing tdm if they're all just hybrids. You're talking as if having a slayer / objective hybrid gametype is inherently bad, which isn't the case at all. You just don't enjoy it. I agree with you that the game could use some pure objective gametypes, though.
As do IMan I miss Halo CTF. But it just wouldn't work in this game with all the supers and such. Unless the flag holder gave some buffs or something.
So, anyone buying into this theory about the Speaker's emblems?

Well, it's definitely team-oriented- sticking with your team improves your chances for success dramatically. As do I
Jumping from something so team and territory oriented as shadowfall to this is a bumpy fucking ride for me. =/
In my testing I found the effects to be likely a placebo... but a powerful placebo. So far as I'm concerned the Blessing of the Gifted got my Hawkmoon. So, anyone buying into this theory about the Speaker's emblems?
Might help if you explained the theory?
Did it and it was my worst mp experience I have even had. It took me about 2 hour to do and the worst part was that Thorn is fucking garbage.

I mean, there must be a reason he sells them at such an exuberant price.
I want to raid.
First timer, need a group.
Level 27 Defender Titan.
PSN: Dirtbag-504
That would be cool.make the flag a relic
I'll just preface this with; I feel your pain and I am not in any way trying to be combative.
But I'm sort of baffled by this general attitude.
I remember back in my WoW days, I wanted 2 items more than anything. The chest piece for my Tier 2 armor and the sword from a 20 man raid. I ran the 20 man raid every reset for months before that sword dropped. I ran (and eventually solo'd) the 40 man raid for my chest piece and guess when RNG decided to bless me with that? Like 3 months ago and this was a vanilla WoW item.
The idea that the raid should give you an upgrade every time is bizarre to me. Does it suck? You bet it does, but it's also a fairly tried and true raid...thing. Unless Bungie changes their outlook on how raids work, and also doesn't care that you cap out characters even quicker, I don't see this changing.
It's the delayed effect that I am interested in, plus having my first Exotic weapon!
Is there anyway at all to cheat the system? Having someone I can kill 100 times in a match?
I hate to cheat but without some extra support there is no way I will get to 500.
There is no reason.

No it's not new. I've never got a purple before patch. I've got 5 blues from a single package before.Lol so the postmaster only gives blue engrams now? Level'd up the cyrptarch, got nothing but blues. Never had that happen before.
Learn to Destiny.
I like how you need Legendary shaders to not look like shit. Some of these color combinations are atrocious.

Still rockin that Polar Oak.
No shame.

Credit to Rx Affliction.
After doing a lot of testing with my friends, I think we are on to something here. The emblems the speaker sells may contain hidden buffs and these are the approximations of what we think they do after a bunch of testing and positive results. however, this could be a wild goose chase... so BUYER BEWARE
Blessing of IV Higher loot/glimmer when opening chests
Blessing of the Ancients Higher chance of drops/glimmer from majors or ultras (w/ glimmer consumable applied for glimmer)
Blessing of the Gifted Higher drop rate/cryptarch conversion chance
Blessing of the Joined Higher drop/glimmer chance when in a group (w/ glimmer consumable applied for glimmer)
Blessing of the Knight Higher drop/glimmer chance from Hive (w/ glimmer consumable applied for glimmer)
Blessing of the Sentinel Higher drop/glimmer chance from Vex (w/ glimmer consumable applied for glimmer)
Blessing of the Skeptic Higher loot chance on end game rolls
Blessing of the Speaker Higher drop/glimmer chance the higher light level you are (w/ glimmer consumable applied for glimmer)
Blessing of the Unmade Chance for more Mats when dismantling
Blessing of the Watcher Higher drop/glimmer chance when using your super (w/ glimmer consumable applied for glimmer)
Blessing of the Zealot Higher drop/glimmer chance from The Fallen (w/ glimmer consumable applied for glimmer)
Blessing of Worlds Chance of more materials looted in game
Edit: Right now most of this is Theory but i have tested Blessing of the Gifted myself and my drop rates definitely increased, not to mention 2 out of 10 legendary engrams have turned exotic for me. This post is more of a recruitment. I need help proving these. but my friends and i have definitely tested Gifted and IV with positive results. Please post if you can confirm that you experience gains in loot/glimmer/rep/exp with any of these equipped. Thanks for your assistance in advance!
We are also trying to confirm if Headshot kills specifically give a higher loot drop chance
Edit: So, after a few comments I'd figure I need to explain my thought process behind this a bit more. Motes of Light: a rare currency that is used to purchase legendary and exotic items from select vendors, so why would emblems specifically called Blessings cost Motes vs. the rest of the vendors requiring rep lvl and glimmer? Well a blessing suggests that it could have a buff (however hidden from us) attached to it and the additional expense of motes implies that these emblems are worth more, but why would they be worth more if they didn't have some effect? Maybe it is coincidence, and we are digging to far into it maybe it is legit, but we can't be sure if we don't try in the 1st place right!? Do the other legendary emblems have effects or is it limited to just the speaker sold ones? I honestly have no clue, It is possible, but on the other side, it is a game based on a ton of randomness, it could just be coincidental. Finally, it's Bungie and they love putting hidden (almost scavenger hunts) in games in places that we would never expect. So remember, BUYER BEWARE.
Edit: For people asking, I have not remotely tested this myself. I am merely relaying information from a post on bungie.net that I found interesting and worth discussing. At this point I am in the same situation as most of us here in that this has my curiosity and I am going to try one of the emblems and see if I notice anything.
Still rockin that Polar Oak.
No shame.
No I understand it. It's just bad design. Like being able to cheat your way through skirmish matches by reviving trammates.
Just got an exotic bounty!
Thorn, Bad Juju, or Invective?
Didn't bungie confirm that this is false?
All the below theories were confirmed to me by a bungie dev to be false. Totally bums me out but thank you all for trying! For those who got gear, congrats! But it was not the emblem helping you...
Is that all you get for beating The Raid? A Legendary and a shader?![]()
Thanks T.O.P we got there in the end.![]()
My three favorite shaders.
