In my experience, when our Party Leader wasn't in the group we got put right back at the Vault entrance. Unless that was due to a bug?

When we first started the raid, you had party leader status, and somehow I ended up with it when we tried logging in later.
Was really weird.
Don't remember if you got booted at some point, as it was pretty hectic our first go around, but yea, we some how changed fireteam leaders after the first boss.

At some point the boss walks over to the other side, though. Does he come back after a certain amount of time or is it health% scripted? If it's based off his health, how do I safely damage him enough to get him back to the safe spot?
I'd like to try it but can't imagine having a decent chance as a 27 Sunbro.

Is based on his health yeah, when he goes for a walk to the other side you can get out of your hole (lol) kill some mobs, get ammo, etc, you just have to be careful with the rockets he fires sometimes, just stick close to the ramp and fire from there, he will eventually go back again to the front, so get back to your hole, rinse and repeat, he will get really close with low health, so be careful, crouch and headshot him to death.

I jumped into a party last week that was right at the beginning of the Templar, and we ended up quitting before we started. I went back the next day and made a party where I was the fireteam leader and it put us right at that checkpoint rather than at the start of the raid.

Need to ask this but what damage type does Sepiks Prime need? Void?

The only time damage modifiers do anything is:

When an enemy has a colour coded shield (aura surrounding their body):

Yellow - solar
Blue - arc
Purple - void

Or when the mission or strike has a damage type burn modifier like the weekly nightfall.

Sepkis Prime isn't vulnerable to anything in particular.

I just did the daily story and didn't get a legendary engram even though it was my first time. The legendary reward has also disappeared from the daily story icon.
Thanks Bungie!

C'mon Bungie, fix dat Crucible loot! Had a guy on my team go AFK for full matches intentionally, he always got a reward while I got nothing for carrying the team...

The nightfall mission is incredibly easy even if you dont have Arc weapons.

All the team leader needs to do is to race across the final room before the boss spawns to the top left hand corner and jump over the boxes and hide under there.

He cannot be shot, no mobs spawn and he just takes pop shots at the mobs from there.

All the other two need to do is keep leaving the fire team and rejoining if they are killed.

The amount of cheese and exploits that people will come up with in games will never stop to amaze me.

I would never do this, it sound boring and lame as hell, honestly.

Aren't the Legendary rewards random on the daily story missions? The only confirmed rewards are the marks and materials.

Swarm is void, Zombie Apo is arc by default. I rock both.

This.
I am rocking the ZombApo and the Corrective Measure.
That sweet 100 bullet mag and the other 200 void bullets waiting in there to wreck havoc where they hit..
sweet baby jesus - I like 'em. :D

Received "the last Word" two days back and I cannot switch back to anything else in this slot,.
Just simply because starting with the shooting animation this hits me in the puberty coolness crutch. Prefered Weapon number 1 at this point. <3

Something tells me I won't get a legendary engram even if I do the weekly strike. I honestly don't want to grind a loot cave or mission with unskippable cutscenes.

Yesterday RNG decided to grace me with a Zombie Apocalypse WF47 and some legendary Titan gauntlets (I'm a Warlock)...

I already have The Swarm. Is the Zombie Apocalypse better? I need ass energy to do the final 2 upgrades on my Suros Regime, and was thinking of dismantling the Swarm if the Zombie is better.

Ugh, love to swap with you on gauntlets, I got legendary Warlock gauntlets yesterday. Guess what, I'm a titan.

I keep getting legendary crucible gauntlets which have blue graffiti all over them. Fucks me right off.

Patch 1.03 incoming? Maybe it´s the announced autorifle nerf and scoutrife, exotic (Thorn, Bad Juju) buff.

PSN still down in Germany

Is there any reason to fully upgrade a weapon with ass energy? I thought I was seeing a difference with damage upgrades but people were saying it only improves your damage against higher level enemies. Seeing as there's nothing that's level 29 outside of the Hard raid, should I even bother?

You'll need them for hard raid, so yes.

You know, I didn't really mind the RNG of the reward system, since you can just keep "rolling the dice" or just save up to buy a legendary. But the fact that in order to reach level 30, I have to hope that I get lucky enough to get a piece of gear that has a random chance of dropping in a raid I can only be rewarded from once (or twice) a week.

And If I use both those chances, and don't get anything, then tough nuggets you have to wait a week until you can even think about trying to get to 30.

But at the same time, it's kind of cool. Those people you see at Level 30 are not only decent enough to complete the raid, but also got lucky enough to have the raid armor drop for them, AND also invested the time to upgrade said armor all the way.

But it still sucks. I've already complete the normal raid, didn't get any armor, and I've yet to find a group to do it on hard. (Though I got Atheon's Epilogue, which will help tons in the hard mode) And if I can't find a group to do it on hard, then there's not much left to do on my Warlock, except maybe level up some weapons to help with the hard mode raid, or play some Crucible until I get bored of it. I should also stop doing the Nightfall, the Weekly Heroic and the Raid all on the same night as the reset.

Don't get me wrong, I absolutely love this game. It has sucked me in like no other. It just kind of sucks to be completely locked down from progressing any further. Sure, the same thing can happen at level 24. But at least there, you can still grind some rep and buy legendaries. I can't grind the raid. I can't buy raid armor. I have to hope to RNGesus that the raid armor will drop.

But like I said earlier, it makes you appreciate level 30 that much more. I still come back to play this game every day. And I'm still loving every minute of it.

In the meantime, I'll probably just level my alts, or watch SOA.

I've been a stupid idiot...

Got my first exotic bounty a couple of days ago,
didn't check online before choosing, as i liked the element of surprise.
After the first bounty step, I saw it was a handcanon, and I got even more exited.
Started step 2, no problem killing 500 hive.
Step 3... 500 points in crucible with void damage.
I cursed under my breath, as I only had a void fusion rifle and I really don't like pvp.
But anything for an exotic right?
After hours of what feels like work I get the bounty,
run over to the speaker, pay a mote of light, thinking this is it... head over to the warlock vanguard... step 4 kill a certain boss in the summonig pits. On level 26, very hard...

I tried a couple of times with a friend, but this is just impossible for me.
It takes me minutes to take down a wizard and the knights just stand there and mock my bullets. So we gave up.

I feel a little cheated and stupid because I didn't check the wiki's beforehand.
I'll never be able to do this, I'm just not skilled enough.
I do find it kind of unfair, step 3 was difficult enough.

Any tips, help? I'm open to suggestions and good advice. Should I just drop the bounty?

This is boring. I wanted to play on my lunch break. :/

Don't give up, just post here on Gaf until you find people who need it or who will help you. You really need 3 people for the strike as it's pretty hard.

Finally maxxed Gunslinger, and managed to unlock full auto mode on both vision of confluence and pocket infinity.

Um...pocket infinity is insane in full auto. I also have a magazine boost that takes it from 3 rounds to 8. Dispensing 8 fusion rounds in a second and a half? I thought the recharge time would be the same...it's not. It just jizzes 8 straight death rays in rapid succession. I said wow. I can't wait to unlock the stability node and see how well it handles with just 3 round mags, but less recoil.

The vision of confluence is nice in full-auto. It had a good rate of fire before. Not as nice as Mida Multi-Tool, but in full auto, it's like having an upgraded Suros with sick range and impact. Oh...and it's got solar damage too. I really wanted void, but any primary with elemental damage is awesome.

My work here is done. Time to finally go to bed. PEACE.

Nooo, don't drop it! Post on destinylfg.net that you need two people to help kill Xyor. You'll get it done.

If you're going to die over and over again anyway, then it's not a bad plan. The rewards are worth it, if you're not high enough level. We always make the weakest player act as a mobile checkpoint in the nightfall. Wiping is not fun at all. PEACE.

You can carry on. Just get someone new in there, happens all the time.

Each of you try and login to the raid alone. and see where you are. The raid party I was with had a glitch where we knew who the party leader started as, but somehow we think it may have changed while we were playing.
I was able to jump in by my self, and was right where we left off.
Don't know if it will work, but its worth a shot.

Honestly,I am looking at it like this: The amount of people who are/will be lvl 30 is a tiny tiny subsection of players. Most players will be 28 or 29, which are levels that allow you to do all content in the game.

With the first DLC we are getting a second raid at least, which has lvl 28 as it's base level. This already means that if you aren't 30 when it comes out,you now have two raids every week (technically 4 raids for normal+hard mode each) that give you the chance of drops. But not being 30 never skips you out of any content. i see it as less of a normal "max level" and more of a "special" level cause it's literally the only level in the entire game you can only reach via drop luck. every level from 1-29 can be reached without needing any drop luck at all.

If that raid is anything like this one good luck doing it at 28 without dying a bunch though. I did the raid at 26 for my first time and it was terrible Also DLC yuck :(

Yeah, I agree with that. I don't feel like I'm being scammed of any content or anything, I just want to reach max level. I'm so close I can taste it.

Ran three Tiger strikes last night and got like 4 or 5 blue engrams and some strange coins. Nothing amazing but glad to see the rewards have been upped a good amount.

Don't drop it. It's easy.

Go with three people. Take arc and solar damage.

Run into the boss room and clear out the mobs. When the wizards start to spawn run back into the room you came from. Wait till the Shrieker spawns above you then run into the room behind that. Now the wizards and Knights will begin easing into the room.

Ignore the Wizards as much as you can they spawn infinitely, kill them if you need to. You need to kill the Knights and acolytes and other trash to get Xyor to spawn.

Remember to call targets and focus fire so you drop them before they have the chance to retreat.

When the Shrieker despawns have one member run outside and pick off as many acolytes as they can before the Shrieker respawns. When it does, run back into the room and repeat.

Once you've killed enough knights to spawn the third drop shop, Xyor will appear. Anyone in your fireteam can kill him and you'll get the bounty. Soon as he's dead you can orbit.

If you're feeling brave you can run outside and just burn trough the knights and acolytes quicker, but it can get quite hectic.

Also, if only one of your team is alive and waits too long, the darkness will co some you and it will restart the encounter. Not sure if this is a glitch or a fix to try to prevent cheesing, but it happened to us twice. In the end we just ran outside and took our chances. :p

Remember:

- Wizards spawn infinitely
- Kill knights and acolytes to spawn new drop ships
- On the third drop shop Xyor will spawn

Good luck guardian.

First of all, play with two friends with high enough level that are geared with the right elemental weapons. Wizards are the toughest so choose some good solar weapons. Communicate and focus fire at the same enemy so they go down as fast as possible. Use machine guns since Wizards dodge rockets very easy.

There is a pretty cheap strategy during the first room with enemy waves to just stand back and wait for the enemies to come to you. Place yourself right at the entrance where you came from and make use of the covers to the left and right. The enemies will mostly hide at the stairs, and there will be some occasional runners coming towards you. Eventually there's always one or two powerful enemies that starts going in your direction so you would want to move then or deal with them very fast with your most powerful weapons.

Titans Ward of Dawn will save you and your mates and if you have a Warlock with you (or play one yourself) the self-resurrect is pretty much obligatory. Suppressor grenade is also really good against Wizards and Knights with launchers as it cancels their attacks for a couple of seconds.

As for the final boss it's pretty much trial and error (like the rest of it). Take down the Knights and Wizards as fast as possible since they spawn in great numbers. After three or four waves Xyor will drop from an incoming ship. He has standard health for a yellow so just nuke the hell out of him. After that just bail, you don't have to defeat the boss. :)

Don't drop it but don't be in a hurry either, Thorn is known to be underwhelming, but is getting a buff in the future. You might want to level up a bit before you go for it.

I was curiuos if anyone knows if you do the VoG on hard, do you get the drops for normal and hard? For example when you beat the templar you get something for normal, then you go on hard beat the templar again you get something else as well, however if you beat it on hard before you beat it on normal, do you get both rewards for the difficulties? or do you literally have to do normal and hard every week lol.

Similar to how if you beat the weekly heroic on 26 you get the coins from both 26 and 24 difficulties?

I just did the daily story and didn't get a legendary engram even though it was my first time. The legendary reward has also disappeared from the daily story icon.
Thanks Bungie!

Just says "Cryptarch Engram", not Legendary Engram. Getting one of those is random, I suppose.

Also, I've leveled up the Cryptarch a couple of times since the patch. Blues decrypting into blues, wish they'd decrypt into some motes of light or ascendant shards if they won't give me legendaries. :lol

It's not trial and error. Tested this multiple times.

Wizards spawn forever.
Killing acolytes, thrall, and knights will trigger new drop ships.

You can get it done in about 15 minutes from the time you start the boss encounter if you're brazen enough.

Holy crap I just did the last part of this bounty last night too, and I definitely get the frustration. So last night I asked a friend to come along to do the 26 strike, figured since it was 26 and I could handle Nightfall, it'd be no big deal.

But wow, the wizards and knights they throw at you is borderline insane. Combine that with the fact that there's no "burn" damage to help you take down enemies fast. Anyways, neither my friend nor I were prepared for that kind of strike.

We somehow made it through the room where the ghost decrypts the door by running all the way back to the previous room, and using it as a buffer to kill the wizards. They will go out to the hallway but no further, which allows you to pick them off safely. From there it's just a battle of attrition for the knights. I really recommend both a solar and arc gun (fusion rifles did well for me) to take down wizards and knights shields respectively, as for some reason in this strike they regenerate silly fast.

When you make it to the boss, I really recommend the rock safe spot in the back left corner of the room. I don't feel like we could have duo'd this mission without it. The only pain is the fact that you have to kill all 5 waves of adds to get the enemy to spawn that you need to kill for the bounty. He will be a gold health bar wizard. You don't have to beat the strike so if you manage to take him down, you can quit.

This is probably done a lot easier with three people. Anyways, just some random thoughts as it's still pretty fresh in my head. Also, after all the PVP (which i hate too) and that strike, when i tried out the hand cannon, I couldn't help but feel like "i did all of that...for this??"

Bungie did a great job in the level system, tying gear to the level is absolutely brilliance. Leveling weapons as opposed to only your character gives the upgraded weapons meaning and the tweaking system gives waepons extra character. I hope other developers take note. Never you have undergeared capped people going into raids and offcourse the bragging rights.
