All I want is a helm lol. Then I can reach 30. I'd be thrilled with the fusion rifle though. :p

Just getting ass energy from hard mode would be ridiculous.
 
Strikes are only really worth doing for marks and maaaaaaaybe loot. If it's rep you're after, stick to bounties and patrol missions. The rep from strikes is abysmal.

You can also do the lvl 20 strike playlist which has the chance of dropping you "vanguard armor" aka blue items lvl 20 that give you light. Also remember that upgrading your armors defense upgrades gives them more light.

Basically, just play what you want, do some strikes, try to get those bounties done to get your vanguard level to 2 (don't crazy grind yourself on that, just do it when you feel like it).

You will get items with proper light and you will level. For example your cryptarch will send you rewards when he levels up too.

Remember to do your daily public event too!

This happened to me this week in Normal. I got my third sniper and second ship. Everything else was a shard. This raid loot system kills the game for me, and I enjoy raiding regularly in this game and have in others.

Yeah, it really sucks. I think once I get level 30, I'm going to chill and wait until the game gets a few more fixes and expansions.

Oh sorry and I forgot, if you can get 13 strange coins, you can buy a guaranteed exotic armor piece from Xur. He shows up every friday and saturday in the tower.
 
Is there a summary anywhere of how damage is dealt based on level? I tried to do the Xyor bounty at level 26 with another 26 and a 25 and we could not even get to the wave he spawned in as it was just a mass chaos of death being dealt to us. From what I gather all of us at level 27 would have a much easier time. Is it because our damage output changes at 27?

I believe Patrol bounties only have +50 rep, try to get some that are +100 also. Maybe I don't remember it now, but I feel like any Vanguard bounty is do-able at Lv20.

Strike playlist is still good for marks and rep, especially if you can get into the Lv 24 Tiger playlist. Don't be afraid to go above your level by 1 or even 2 levels, it should be reasonable on just the playlists.

Being the same level or hgher than an enemy definitely helps but a large part are also the weapons you use. If your attack rating on a weapon, even a legendary, is too low,it will do less damage to enemies. The higher the enemies yu are fighting,the higher you want your attack rating.
 
Some guy in my fireteam got The Last Word after completing a strike in the Tiger Playlist..

..While the rest of us got 2 rares.

Came so close to beating the end boss of the Raid last night. Jesus christase.

We cant afford even one fuckup. Its crazy, but really fair and doable. We should be able to do it tonight. Man, once that shit is over Im going to consider it one of the best, most satisfying gaming accomplishments Ive had in awhile.

On the bright side though, Ive managed to pick up the Raid boots and the Raid chestpiece along the way.

I must be weirdo, never been above ~12k. I go through a lot of heavy synthesis helping people do weekly's and raids. Maxed Gjallahorn does work.

I also use/waste glimmer upgrading weapons/armor that I just end up dismantling or never using.
 
Wish the game had more mission design like the Raid. Just incredibly fun. The diverse gameplay in combat, tasks, platforming, stealth etc. If they just had several Raids already part of the game, it would have added a tonne to the overall package.

I can upgrade them all of course but due to the time legendarys and exotics take it will take a while

I like seeing things like this. Makes me feel good (no sarcasm). I am going to go on a rant about the raid at some point, but don't want to stomp on people enjoying it for legit reasons, so will delay.

Speaking of which, I and buds (GAF'ers plus 1 real life buddy) are trying to schedule a regular thing for Thursdays 9 est (with potential weekend cleanup) for raids. 9 est US time. We have room for one and would prefer a Warlock.

We're nice and at least some of us are way too old. Just PM me or PSN add me (Bizazedo). Fair warning, though, if I get a flood of PM's I'm going to have to be a dick and choose only one. Feel free to still add on PSN, though, as I'm sure at some point someone will have a real life emergency and need to be replaced.

And yes, Thursday is today.

You get anything good at levels 5 or 6? I got some shitty Engrams at Lv4 that decrypted into garbage so I decided to work the factions and Crucible to Lv 3 just for guaranteed stuff.

Vanguard is 4, Crucible is 3, FWC is 3, and Dead Orbit just hit 3.

Queen's faction is who gives a shit because that lady is terrible.
 
Just finished Danganronpa 2 and now I'm feeling burned out on PvP bleh. Need to knock out the Nightfall this weekend, got a lot of strange coins in my pocket so that's good at least!

For PVP it starts off quite limited as the range isn't very good at all, but once you get the "universal remote" upgrade to increase range and damage when ADS it becomes a very viable weapon. Great for shotgun users as you can have 2 equipped at once.

Found the Shadow Price to be flawless in the Raid. It's fully upgraded.

Edit: Its magazine size is 25, also killing with it quickens reload times so you don't really notice it much. Thats an upgrade though.

I've been rocking Grim Citizen III for a few weeks now (which is similar enough to Suros) and really have grown to love it. However, I have been upgrading Atheon's Epilogue. I don't think it's a better weapon than Grim Citizen III, but I think it's useful enough as a backup. It's been particularly helpful in the Weekly and Nightfall strikes.
 
So I joined the new monarchy because someone said I should join a faction, does that mean I'm not gaining any vanguard rep now? Should I switch back if I want to buy good stuff?

Should I wait until I'm level 3 in vanguard before buying anything with my marks?
 
So I just recently bought Destiny for PS3 and....I play for 3-5 minutes and get disconnected, getting all sorts of error codes. I've tried everything i have read on Bungie's support page and still nothing =\
