8/10.

This reminds me of an unofficial one for A:TLA that asked things like "how many chunks of ice did Katara cross to reach Aang in the iceberg?" Like how am I supposed to remember that?

Impressive the Book 4 trailer just passed 5 million views.

And yet another, even better interview of Mike and Bryan from IGN. This one is a live interview, so there's video.

Bryan says Book 3 was actually supposed to come out even earlier, and Book 4 was was always meant to come out late 2014 or around this time.

It's a half hour interview, so I'll post highlights later. They also restate that Book 2's delays were production issues.

Interesting about Book 3.
Watching now.

Ohhhh! Big things about Kuvira in the IGN interview:

Kuvira grew up in Zaofu, so she very much had Suyin's progress driven idology imbeded into her, but it's been warped.

Also, Bryan said that, in a way,
she's very much like Korra and will act as a personal challenge to her.

Kuvira became one of the production crew's favorite characters in all of LOK. They confirm
Hiroshi's return, joking they had Hiroshi's scenes cut after Daniel Dae Kim let it slipped he was returning.

Oh, and... ahem.. they confirm
Toph's back. Like as in alive and kicking. They initially didn't decide if she was alive or not in Book 1 (made it ambiguous) , but then opted to bring her back afterwards.

They avoided giving too much time to returning ATLA characters. Bryan said "we didn't want a Golden Girls Avatar."

On the first thing that Bryan mentioned,
I was wondering if they would go that route at some point in the show after season 2. She is possibly being what Korra was back in the start of the series. It would offer a good "where she's been" to where she is now....which isn't much, but she is more spiritual inclined and possibly in book 4 more mature.

Beat me to it as I just finished listening it.
Might as well post some more highlights:

  • Second episode deals with Korra and her journey
  • Hiroshi is coming back
  • Toph mention in the trailer was joked as mostly due to fear of it being leaked
  • Made sense to bring her back with book 4 and the role she plays with Korra
  • Regarding relationships/shipping there is no way to satisfy everyone 20
  • At the end of the day just to the story that you wanted to tell and put it out there
  • Seemed like the Book 3 finale did well but they don't get the detailed numbers of how that played out from Nick
  • Regarding scheduling "At the end of the day we have no control over it" "Nothing we can really do or say"
  • Definitely the end of Korra "close the Korra chapter"
  • No talks of another avatar show at the moment "Nothing"
  • Doesn't mean it would never happen and We still love the avatar universe
  • Five brutal years and need to recharge our batteries
  • Maybe come back to it at some point but ready to try new things
  • Bryan jokes "There are other people out there that I haven't disappointed yet and I need to find them and i've been lucky enough to disappoint millions"
  • "I'd like to see it not exist" regarding the live action avatar film

So
sounds like Toph is going to play a big role with Korra which is pretty neat.

Yeah, does indeed sound like
Toph will be playing Yoda to Korra's Luke!

9/10. What's up.

10/10

I honestly hope the do come back to the series. I think definitely think they are burnt out on it all tho.

I would definitely want to see what the fire nation has been up to since the war. The fact they left that untouched has me hopefully that it will be a "backdoor" development for a 3rd series years down the line. I mean YEARS

You guys re-watching episodes as you do this?

Why the FUCK would anyone pay attention to the number of rocks?

Only a true fan would know who scored the first goal in power discs whilst Korra was watching.
Its such a massive moment in the show, everything changed after that goal was scored.

I just remembered, honestly didn't check back for anything. It was really vivid in my mind when he rotated the three rocks to make the lava shuriken.

Guessed the Ghazan tattoo one and the Lin crime scene one, but for the Win and Wei one I remember Su saying something like "Oh nice (point?) Wing!" when he scored.

Sci-fi Avatar series. Think of how awesome that would be.

I'm telling you guys, SPACE AVATAR. It needs to happen. XD

Or at the very least modern time Avatar. Honestly love the idea that each Avatar series goes further in time.

edit:

Sci-fi Avatar series. Think of how awesome that would be.

Just saw this post- ANOTHER AGREES! :D

Though I guess I wonder, if they do go further in time or even to a space-age Avatar, would guns be introduced? Or do you think they would wave it off and say that the idea of them never came up.

What about modern or the equivalent of the 1900s Avatar?

The Zaheer finale I can't stop watching.

I'm not sure if this is sarcastic, but the Korra series is basically set in a equivalent early 1900's/late 1800's setpiece in terms of technology due to the introduction of movies, radio, steamships and electricity starting to power( whereas it was coal in the Aang graphic novels 80 years prior to Korra akin to the Industrial Rev). Unless you were specifically talking about the later half of the 19th century, then yes, it would be very different. There are differences with its steampunkish design and electricity uses in Republic City and other cities being technologically behind Republic City, but this is akin to England and a few other industrious countries and the ROW in late 1800's/beginning 1900's.

Later half! I want to see more 60s 70s 80s 90s Avatar. My bad for not being specific.

I think they would introduce bending-based weapons. Like, maybe actual water whips that aren't tentacle arms. Or maybe fire swords or rockets.

I don't think they would ever bring actual guns into the series. Too graphic for kids and would also be super OP vs. bending.
