So what's the verdict on Dracula X? Worth checking out if you're a CV fan? Or should I just stick with Rondo of Blood?
It's not nearly as good as Rondo of Blood or Super Castlevania 4 but then again, not many games are. It's sort of lackluster and the graphics leave a lot to be desired for the SNES, but so-so Castlevania is better than a lot of things out there. The music sounds pretty amazing, though. I say give it a try.So what's the verdict on Dracula X? Worth checking out if you're a CV fan? Or should I just stick with Rondo of Blood?
Yeah. No new sales this week. But if haven't jumped on last week's sale, it's still up for another 1.5 hoursSo, is the smash sale over??
Ends at 10 am PST I believe. So, is the smash sale over??
Wait, are we sure this is the SNES Dracula X? I don't even remember that releasing on the Wii VC.
Anyway, nice to see the CV games going up. If we are talking about SNES Dracula X then obviously the pick of the month will be Circle of the Moon.
Was kind of hoping for something like "buy Metal Gear Solid GBC to unlock Snake in Smash Bros" but oh well.
There always have to be exceptions, don't there.https://www.nintendo.co.uk/Support/Nintendo-3DS-2DS/Usage-/Save-Data-Transfer-Tool/Which-software-is-not-supported-by-the-Save-Data-Transfer-Tool-/Which-software-is-not-supported-by-the-Save-Data-Transfer-Tool--746475.html said:Which software is not supported by the Save Data Transfer Tool?
You cannot transfer save data with the Save Data Transfer Tool for the following titles:
Monster High: Skultimate Roller Maze

US release date for Art of Balance (Wii U, eShop) is October, 9th, 2014!

This seems like an appropriate place as any:

Remember the Save Data Transfer Tool was what you use to transfer saves from retail carts to eShop downloads, aka how to wipe RE Mercanaries saves from carts.
Yoooooooo!!
Harvest Moon 2 for GBC VC!
dude, where have you been in the last 12 years?
i.e.:The gamecube version of "BMX XXX" has real stripper girls getting bare naked (instead of the PS2 version).
Oh man, that takes me back. Did anyone ever play that game?
...anyone?
You mean the RE:Marcanries thing? It does require an eShop version of the game to perform it so might not be that useful in reality.Fuck, how long has that been a thing.
preferred dreamland 3 tbh. super star just seemed to be a sort of mini game collection amongst some random kirby levels. idk man i must have not got very far
Lone Survivor is coming in EU on 16/10. Looks like a game that I might enjoy. Any impressions on this game would be appreciated.

Wow, bad sale.
Depends. I like it better than Super CVIV and Rondo of Blood myself.
Ballpoint Universe finally coming out Oct 16

Oh hey, only seven months late. Not bad. Still waiting on QUBE Directors Cut, Assault Android Cactus and Nihilumbra, though.
Whoa. Castlevania X (JPN) is Rondo of Blood and Castlevania XX (JPN) is Castlevania X. Thought this was just the same game as released on Wii, but it is its sequel! Going to have to get it now! :lol
Not so much as a sequel as it is an alternate take on Rondo of Blood/CVX.
It's a completely different game. It retells the same story and reuses some assets but that's about it.Wait. Does that mean if you've already played Rondo of Blood on Wii that Castlevania X is skippable?

Oh god, I totally forgot those existed by now ...

Is Art of Balance for Wii U the same game as the one for 3DS?
I've been in touch with the Nihilumbra people for a while. I don't know what I'm permitted to say here, but it's going to be a bit of time still and it's not really their fault. I'm really looking forward to that one, too.
It reuses the sprites from Rondo just like every single 2D Castlevania did afterwards, but the backgrounds are all new (and awful, the color palette is ugly, there are almost no background layers and some parts look amateurish, like they wre done by Konami trainees). The level design is all new as well. The music is all rearranged and sounds great. It's a decent game that's worth playing but it's definitely no Rondo of Blood or Castlevania 4.It's a different game that uses the same graphics/tunes as the original

This is a game I'm definitely looking forward to, so this is disappointing.

I do too. Super is definitely my least favorite if the 16bit games.I actually prefer it to Super Castlevania IV.
Between Rondo and X? As I'm sure you've already read right here, Rondo of Blood is the prefered one by pretty much everyone and is more similar to SOTN (without being a Metroidvania yet). It was sort of the beginning of modern Castlevania and I'm sure you know about the connections to SOTN already. X is a spinoff of Rondo, more traditional.I'd be interested in knowing this too, specifically which are best played, possibly in what order, if I love SOTN and can't really get into Super Castlevania at all
I'm sure you do and that's perfectly OK by me. Like I said, it's a game worth playing. I myself prefer Super Castlevania 4 but I'm sure that doesn't mean anything in particular to you.I actually prefer it to Super Castlevania IV.

If what you want is something more similar to Symphony of the Night and don't like Super Castlevania 4, get Rondo of Blood if you can. Then get Dracula X because it's a decent game and try SC4 again because it's a great game and more Castlevania is better than less Castlevania.
