Slow. The longer the bar, the faster it charges.

No kidding, it's super fun! The naysayers were WRONG!!! I just finished another 30+ kill Control game, as well as several other 25+ kill games.

The DoT gets everyone by surprise. Although having only six shots has got me killed many times.

You misunderstood. Let me rephrase.
You cannot complete the raid set from doing normal mode.

Some weapons and the helm are only available from hard mode.

Yeah 3 for 22 and 6 for 26 I think

If you do the 26 one you will get 6 yes, but then if you do the 22 one you will get zero. Just like if you did the 28 one you'd get 9, and if you did either of the others you'd get zero after that. It goes up in increments of 3, or if you do the highest difficulty one you get the coins from the lower difficulty ones.

has the vanguard honor achievement not unlocked for anybody else? I've hit rank three and it didn't pop. I logged out and back in and it still didn't pop. Since then I've completed more bounties and missions to increase the rank more but still hasn't popped.

Do you need to get to rank 4 for it to count?

Fair warning... dont get your hopes up too high. Mine is fully upgraded and it was barely better than the monte carlo for oracles.

Finished my first raid! I received Atheon's Epilouge, the Thunderlord, Gloves of the Hezen Lords, and Ascendant Shards!

I'm feeling like these were pretty good drops.

Question for the experienced folks here: How much of your blue/purple/gold equipment would you say you picked up in the less time-intensive activities, i.e. story missions, strikes, casual crucible play?

I'm level 17 at the moment, and I've got a couple of blues (armor mostly, one or two weapons) and nothing in purple or gold. Basically I'm jealous as hell of all the people with crazy purple and gold gear, and I'm wondering if I'll ever be able to get any without having to be play raids or sink dozens of hours into the crucible.

I'm level 29 and have done 0 raids and no strikes above level 24 with other players - i did my first solo nightfall this week. I have 8 or so exotics across 3 characters, 4 of them weapons from bounties. Every one of my characters is in full purple/exotics, all level 27-29. My schedule is pretty random and I will play a few minutes then do stuff IRL so I don't group a lot.

The loot cave gave me a LOT, I'd just afk there for hours while working and press the fire button every now and then. After that crucible has been a good source of gear.

The game is a bit giant loot pinata - between bounties, public events, engrams, ranking up for factions (each rank after 2 gives you a goody bag), exotic bounties, Xur, queens stuff, and more you just get so much stuff. You do pretty much need to be 20 to really start earning all the good stuff like motes, coins, rep, etc so that should be the first goal, after that loot just kinda slowly trickles in as you play.

I'm not really feeling the Destiny music as much as I liked the Halo music. I find myself turning off the Destiny music, and putting on the old Halo music instead.
