It's Kuvira, we all know, but most didn't notice who's at the bottom.

Wait, so when someone said that Amazon will possibly have the episode up by midnight, I assume you mean for paid right and not free stream?

Yeah Nick is the only free option at the moment if you want to watch the show. The rest you have to pay for.
Amazon may or may not be putting an episode up in the next hour or so.

do you need an account or something to watch it on Nick? if not I can use Hola, but if I need to have cable or enter American details then yeah, I'll have to wait a while.

It's up on Amazon but WAIT! They added this little lock on it:

Our agreements with the content provider don’t allow purchases of After All These Years at this time.

What time then!? After it airs on Nick.com? Will update if it changes.

UPDATE: It's now available in S and HD!!!. People are already posting reactions on tumblr.

It comes with the official description for the episode:

1. After All These Years TV-Y7 CC
It's been three years since Zaheer poisoned Korra and the members of Team Avatar have moved on with their lives; Kai and Opal help a struggling Earth Kingdom town.

Are they stupid? People are just going to torrent it every week?

Yeah I need that HD goodness.

Amazon did this for every episode in Book 3 once they moved it online.
So Nick was always about 6-9 hours behind.

Now in HD!

Starts off just like that preview clip with Prince Douche. HERE.WE.GO!

Oh wow... Ok, right off we get an explanation of the situation in the Earth Kingdom! Prince Wu is the Earth Queen's
great-nephew.

WOW WOW!
The trains! Kuvira in charge of reuniting the Earth Kingdom! She starts off as good apparently. Bolin is part of her main circle.

Her theme is great, those drums.

Zelda Williams FTW as Kuvira. She deepened her voice. Kuvira, hot dang.

Update on Team Avatar:

Mako is indeed
Prince Wu's body guard, on loan from the Republic City police. He hates the guy.
Bolin is
Kuvira's right hand guy, or very important part of her inner circle.
Varrick is with her too.

The plan is for
Kuvira to reunite the Earth Kingdom under Prince Wu's name, but people don't seem to like the idea, and Kuvira looks like he's about to get rid of that plan.

The falling out between Suyin, Opal and Kuvira already happened. Its straining Opal and Bolin's relationship.

Baatar Jr. i
s on Kuvira's side, and HOLY SHIT is her fiancé!

Holy hell. Kuvira
is a bully. She's seen bullying the governor of Yai into joining her. She conquering state by state.

It's foreshadowing both Kuvira and Toph's importance in Book 4...

I think :S That entire Episode and Book 3 foreshadowed Toph and Kuvira anyway.

Yeah I mean...a lot of the metal clan stuff in general in Book 3 had referencws to Toph so I'm not sure that counts as foreshadowing.

NO SPOILERS FOR ME. STAYING CLEAN TIL 1PM PT.

:O

And that was only the FIRST episode. Amazing.

Main points:

Korra
's is still "missing" by the end of the episode. She left the Southern Water Tribe 6 months ago and nobody has seen her yet, only writing to Tonraq and lying to him about being in Republic City with Tenzin already. We, the audience, see her in a miniature Earth Rumble somewhere, and loses. She doesn't look like she's found Toph yet and has given up on being the Avatar. We see her getting that bruised eye she has when she's in the swamp and meets Toph.

The split between
Kuvira and Suyin already happened years ago. Bolin, Varrick, and Baatar Jr joined her. Opal didn't, she stayed loyal to her mother who still rules Zaofu but under Kuvira's presidency. The twins also stayed loyal to Suyin.

Opal and Bolin's relationship is obviously strained.

Kain and Jinora are still happily together.

Kuvira is
slowly liberating/conquering Earth Kingdom states, in the name of protecting them from bandits, but her reputation is both that of a Great Uniter and Dictator, who sacks the states she conquers for metal and her army. Power Hungry indeed. But badass. Azula level badass, without the crazy.

Mako is
sick and tired of protecting the Earth Prince and heir, who isn't very popular with the many Kuvira supporters around the world.

Asami
got back full time to her company, and Future Industries is working on uniting the high-speed trains Kuvira's army has made with their new ones in the Republic.

Officially,
and President Raiko still believes it, Kuvira is on a mission to take back the Earth Kingdom in the name of Prince Wu, but of course, that doesn't look like it's going to happen. She'll grab the Earth Kingdom for herself.

Tonraq
arrives at Air Temple island, sporting some snazzy gray hair lines on the sides, and is shock when everyone asks where's Korra. She's not with him. Shock!

The Air Nation is stretched thin,
unable to satisfy the needs of the Earth Kingdom citizens anymore, which forces these in turn to surrender to Kuvira. But Tenzin and the kids look great. Meelo is "A MAN NOW!" LOL!

Again, if this wasn't clear, there's no Team Avatar reunion. Everyone was expecting her to arrive with Tonraq, and Tonraq was expecting to find Korra already in Air Temple Island.

Just finished the episode. Gotta say, the new direction for all of the characters seems great so far. Solid opener. Not exciting like the first episode of season 3, but extremely solid.

Gotta say by far the characters that shined the brightest were Bolin, Kai, and Opal. Kuvira wasn't bad but seeing that
right now we know little about her besides that she's gathering the army for the prince, which obviously is going where she'll get power hungry, and that she's engaged to Opal's brother and whatever happened 3 years ago is causing strain for metal clan family benders
there isn't much to say about her character. She's competent, but not exciting like Zaheer was in the opening but they're going with a different direction with this.

The rest of the characters had a couple of scenes sure, but largely boring
we're in peace time in the city
stuff so again they didn't stand out much.

The scenes with Bolin, Kai and Opal were the highlights by far though
Bolin and Opal's relationship is being strained because he's hanging around with people she disapproves of, particularly her 'traitor' brother and the woman who caused the whole issue. She's acting immaturely but not unexpected from somebody in a similar situation. Not fair for Bolin obviously, his smile when he sees her both times and when he's helping people should be clue enough he's in it to help the people and make a difference. I'm sure it'll work itself out, it's basic tv writing

Kai
I don't mind anymore. He seems like an interesting character now that he's grown up, not rebellious whatsoever but peaceful and helpful. So yay growing up

Then we have the ending scene with
Korra in her MMA fighting, so she's been lying to people about being there already? Probably going to fights to train her body again and feel independent, which she has always needed. Plus she doesn't feel needed with the air nation. BALANCE

Some predictions for this season:
-Bolin might actually work for 'the bad guys', in this case Kuvira's army, for a bit in the season. Not because he's bad, but because it seems like they're trying to make a commentary on military nations where it's not black and white. If Kuvira doesn't turn full evil, he'll probably stick with her because he believes they're doing good. This will probably cause a bit of relationship drama with Opal until he eventually joins the other side again and they have an emotional reunion one way or the other cementing their relationship status. Heck the fact they've been together for 3 years is already clue enough they'll stick together.

- Korra will find balance

Edit: so yeah guys. Calling this way prematurely so quote this message: This is the season of Bolin and Korra. Both of them, assuming they take typical tv writing routes, seem to have the most emotionally/interesting plots of the final season. Bolin in particular with what we saw this episode and in the trailer looks like he'll be the most interesting character this season.

YEAR OF BOLIN. YEAR OF BOLIN.

That was fucking awesome.

I love how every part of the korra world was updated for the timeskip. Kuvira gave off some pretty azula-ish vibes when she was talking to the governor.

Now, to wait a whole week...

Ugh, the Kuvira stuff is so bad, especially after all the S1/S2 attempts at political intrigue.

Might as well finish the show up I suppose.

I hate those air bender wing suits, they look so corny and un-monk like.
Well, they're not monks, both Aang and Tenzin lived with their wives and children like a regular family, the air nomads way of life ended almost two centuries ago, there's no way they're going back to seperating the genders and having children raised by elder monks and not their birth parents. That new airbenders grew up in the other nations makes things even more complicated, they might be willing to follow some traditions but no one will go for the monk live, especially not while chief airbender Tenzin is boning his wife every other night.

Hmmm, interesting.
The choice is between lil clueless shit head King ruling the Earth Kingdom ooorrrrr bad ass take no shit lady who helps her people even if it's a bit ruff ... but is likely the villain?

IDK,
Kuvira seems like the better choice as long as she doesn't go full dick-mode.

I hope the show doesn't go down the cliched route of making Kuvira turn into a power hungry tyrant and oppressor, that shit is so lame.

Pretty good first episode.
Kuvira sure is menacing so far with they way she took down those bandits with ease and the force she put on that poor governor.
That smirk.
Also loving the drums in Kuviras theme.
Prince Wu isn't quite as annoying as I thought he would beand i'm sure the trip he'll be taking with Mako and the krew will help for the better but at this point in time Kuvira is the better leader even if she does have a suspect army of stormtroopers.
Hmm Korra doing underground fights guessing she's still struggling to find her place in the world with air nation already taking over quite a few of her roles. Still poor korra
Bopal not looking very strong at the moment.

The Legend of Korra Book 4, Episode 1:

So, at last, a short last we have arrived at this final season of Korra and this first episode is keeping the goodwill from Season 3 alive. Oh yes, it is good, damned good.
I like that the changes over the past two books have been retained. I still wonder what has become of the Equalists. I mean, yea, Amon was a fraud, but the underlying problems never really seemed to be resolved. Ah well, with the world being what it is, they would not have a lot credence in their voice these days.At any rate, we have hit quite the time skip, Team Avatar are now full fledged adults and the younger kids are older and we see what three years of time can do to the world. I have to say I like that not only has Team Avatar been doing their own thing but some of the more peripheral characters of seasons past have their stories ongoing. Also, surprise, surprise, the random mook who got a name and was voiced by a celebrity turned out to be the main villain for Season 4. Of course, right now they are playing with the ends justify the means as Kuvira has become a dictator of steel. The interesting question being presented here is does the Earth Kingdom need the strong hand of the fire and forge to reunite the Earth Kingdom or will the more foppish attitudes of linage previal? Oh yea, also, Ryuko Motoi has become a third-rate UFC fighter because she lost her way or something.
Never thought I would say this after season 2, but I will miss Korra after this is all over.

Rushed through seasons 1-3 in a couple weeks so I could get here in time.

Season 1 is bad
Season 2 is terrible (apart from those 2 episodes in the past which were good)
Season 3 is OK at best

Season 4 - episode 1

Avatar is a kid's show primarily and this further shows itself here. Continuing with the tradition of the previous seasons there is no sense of nuance or a consideration of the world but rather a rushed boxing in of characters. It doesn't take a genius to work out who will be a bad guy this season the show doesn't at all consider anything that counters it's ideals. The show is already setting up stupid battle lines where Kuviera will be expected to hand over everything to an idiot, just because. And in case that isn't enough they're already showing her in a negative light so I'm sure that she will turn out to be stupidly evil just like all the other enemies. Subjugation for protection is the way the world works. The new prince is as dumb as Bolin but it's clear that the show wants us to think of him in a worse manner for some reason. I don't know the attraction with having this type of character, I've seen spoilt rich kids and whilst they have their quirks, flanderising it like this isn't necessary.

Korra as the Avatar completely ruins the whole point of the role. Avatar's bring balance via FORCE - Roku didn't kindly ask Souzen to stop dicking around, he made him. That Kiyoshi woman avatar split the goddamn continent. Korra now is losing to random mooks. I understand that they want us to show her broken down from her acts of stupidity last season but that is no reason to make her a terrible bender. If little kids can be great benders she has no excuse.

I know it sounds like a lot of complaining but Avatar is stuck in this void, where it wants to deal with more complex matters but feels extremely held back by it's trappings as a show for kids. I don't dislike it per se but am rather disappointed at the amazing world they have that has been consistently broken down by the necessity to build up a new bad guy every season which means that everyone has to hold the idiot ball and power levels become wildly inconsistent just to allow the enemy to become a huge threat and then they pull something out to defeat them at the last second.

Nick has gone and put up the episode pretty early.
Probably because all the other sites have had it up for a few hours now.
Oh nice.

I don't like Kuviras voice, she sounds so old and clashing with her looks she already smells evil, but she has a point and a reason. Without her the Earth Kingdom would be really in shambles, Prince Wu is certainly not able to rally the states of the Kingdom behind himself. Good episode overall.
My chances of evil Opal have shrunk, but I will stand by my word. Didn't even attempted to help Kai defending the goods. As if the bison couldn't work without her, which it did seconds after. Also she is evil.

I liked the ending shot. "I wouldn't know". Amazing.

Also: Coronation sounds awfully like Korra Nation, doesn't it? :D

How do they even make money? I don't get it.
They sell the pain of the fans.
