Have all of the raid armor except for one maxed out and have over 21 ascendant shards. Only need the Prime Zealot Cuirass to reach 30. Every raid I do without getting it is going to be a pain.

I happened to be on a patrol mission to kill Hive. He wasn't preventing the Hive from spawning. So I decided to troll him back, and prevent the Fallen from spawning.

It was harmless fun, you guys take this stuff way too seriously.

I don't even use the loot cave. I just think it's kind of ridiculous that you get enjoyment from trolling something like that. Just move on man lol.

Mask of the Third Man is what I rock, and it decreases super drain on combos during arc blade. It's good for PVP. Not so much for PVE.

Eh, I dunno, some guys I work with don't know Neogaf or places like this exist. One's 28, the other's 26 and will be 27 soon as he gets off his ass and upgrades.

They are clueless compared to us.

Nope, I have not. Thanks for the heads-up. I'm pretty low crucible rank as all of my rep has been going to NM, but I do already have vanguard 3.

Yeah, a good illustration of this is just how rare it is to actually see another player in the tower with their head on fire from the nightfall buff.

P.S. Game's been out nearly a month now and I'm still playing it hours a day. And I haven't even seen the inside of the raid yet. I think this one's a keeper.
 
I got an Hex Caster Arc from a blue engram. It's a legendary AR but I've never heard of it or seen it before. Anybody have it and is it good? I already have Shadow Price and Suros.

I actually once had three lvl 24 people walk up to me in the tower and keep "pointing" when my head was on fire like that. One sent me a message asking "how the hell did you get set on fire???"

I never thought about this. This is something to think about. Huh.

Considering I get the buff every Tuesday, this is quite humbling.
 
Do you guys think the Starless Night perk from the Helm of Saint-14 is actually useful in PvE? Seems more PvP oriented to me. It might be useful against some of the smaller bosses, like the Archon Priest, that actually walk in your bubble. But in general most of the time you kill everything before it gets to your bubble anyway.

I already have the Crest of Alpha Lupi as a PvE exotic armor piece, I don't know whether to replace that with the helm. I'd rather hold out for his next exotic auto rifle or the Helm of Inmost Light for my Striker subclass.

You just have to look at the percentage of people who have the achievement for completing the Raid to realise this.
 
any hunters notice much of an improvement with the arc grenade and lucky raspberry? its supposed to extend the range, but it seems basically the same to me (pve). is this viable and good in pvp?

well, still. I personally haven't beaten it but I have done quite a few attempts on the final boss. so the moment I beat it, I am in the 0.2% of Destiny players on PS4. That's like, actually pretty crazy when you think about it.

That chest is only really good for PVP, and only if you die often. The respawn with grenade energy is its main buff, with extended range not doing much since IIRC it doesn't link to more targets, it just widens the scanning cone. If you have good aim, it's worthless, and I have noticed no benefit in PVE aside from bonus heavy ammo.
 
Rolled the dice with Xur on the random exotic engram...Got a Hunters helmet. Im a warlock, lol! Im not mad, its no biggie, I knew the risk and had plenty of motes of light to burn. Contemplated breaking it down for shards, but though if I start a new character i may use it...Ah well.

Maybe I am jaded due to everyone in the GAF community playing this game a ton. It would be great for Bungie to release some stats about the community, like I've mentioned before.

Level 29 = the land of RNG. I just need a damn headpiece and I'm golden. I was stupid and DE'd a somewhat viable exotic helmet for Warlocks that wasn't the stupid Veil. I use the Sunbreakers and somehow in the raid, I got the goddamn gauntlets.

I suppose. What sort of numbers are we working with? What is that 0.2% a portion of what number?
 
Helium Filaments. How did you pros get this stuff?

Purple armour needs lots and lots of helium filaments. I patrolled the moon to get 16 filaments and upgrade one piece but the effort levelled up another bit of armour and now I need 16 more. I'm hoping there's a better way to do this!

The only guaranteed way to get strange coins is to play the Weekly Heroic strikes. Knock out the level 28 and get all 9 coins in one shot.

Other than that, if you need a few coins... they may come from Blue Engrams.

I need 4 light to get to level 28. To do that I need 7 ass shards, and I need to farm some helium. After that I'm not using any ascendant materials to further upgrade any of my non-exotic or non-RAID armor. It's too Rare. Level 29 can wait until I have a full set of RAID gear.

There's farm routes you can find on youtube. Helium filaments are just as easy to get as the other stuff if you know where to patrol and find chests. You can find a bunch in the first area if you look through it a couple of times.

I chest farm the first area in patrol, it's just about finding where all the spawns for them are.

My first time playing Nightfall was with Afro and figs. And we completed it too. My buff impressed a buddy last night. Thanks Afro/figs~

I've used the bubble offensively before. I actually jumped in the middle of three enemies, dropped it, and wrestled them all to death.

I shall be a Spartan tonight.

Besides, I hear it's very useful in the raid. Use it to block off Confluxeseseses.
