That was my point. My question was why the guy considers this better for raids/PvE than knucklehead radar.

I think it's better for raids because i always play bladedancer in pvp. It's definitely helpful in raids. I may get it because of that but I kinda just want to save my coins.

Gambled on the exotic helm engram and got the ugly warlock helmet that was for sale last week.

I guess I should at least be happy I got something for my own class...but man, this game can be draining sometimes. The excellent gunplay keeps me coming back.

Yeah but the only way to get points is to kill, right?

So say you do the most and all your kills are Warlocks. That's 134 kills.

Otherwise it's anywhere from 134 to 400 kills

I can't verify it myself but someone said you got points for neutralizing and capturing control points as well which makes the bounty fairly easy and quick.

Where did you fail? The first room you can skip, an Arc sniper is going to be very helpful for the tank. After the tank you can skip the room right before the boss, both times I did it I just hid behind the boxes behind the ramp in the left corner (the corner opposite from where you enter). From the boxes there is a crack in the left side that allows you to shoot the shield guys from the side (if they aim their shields at the other 2 cracks). Make sure to kill everything in sight before getting out once the boss moves to the other side of the room.

Failed during the final boss. Has his health widdled down to less than half. Those freaking psions knocked us out. Two level 28s and me (level 26).

You get points for capturing control points. You also get bonus points for kills in the control area when defending and kills in control areas when attacking.

Asking again...

In the raid, are you guaranteed to get your class' raid gear or is it possible to be awarded the gear for another class?

In other words, if I'm rolling with a Hunter, is it possible I get Titan raid gear out of the chests/bosses?

I guess it is your class gear... I finished the Raid three times with no gear :(

BTW people that have already lvl 30 with three Raid gears are using three characters with the same class (like three Warlocks).

I honestly don't know yet. I need more time with it. I've been playing pretty much just defender so far so I can use it in raids but I think I'd mainly go Striker in PvP. The bubble doesn't do it for me, people aren't stupid enough to really go in it and when I use it at an objective more often than not I get hulk smashed anyway.
The Helm of Saint-114 allows you to use that bubble offensively, if that interests you.

Helm of Inmost Light and Armamentarium are both great for Strikers. If you just want to pick one to work with as you I'd suggest starting with Armamentarium because when aren't 2 grenades awesome.
I see exotic gear as the point where you choose how to "spec" your character, similarly to how you choose your talent tree in a typical MMO. Let's say you opt to roll with Lucky Raspberry. With its arcbolt grenade and fusion rifle upgrades, you are essentially speccing yourself to be a shock damage hunter with a fusion rifles (optimally Plan C to go for a full shock build). A class needs to commit to a spec when choosing what exotics to wear. I find this system incredibly rewarding and a lot more flexible than locking you down with talent trees since you can always swap gear and subclasses between fights. These elemental speccing will be even more prevalent when more and more people start acquiring elemental damage main weapons.

In the future I totally see people looking for fireteams by saying "LFG lvl 30 void spec shotgun warlock" or "LFG lvl 29 fire spec handgun hunter."
100% on the mark. That's just one potential build (call it "Lucky C") centered around those two exotic picks. Other builds using Lucky Raspberry but capitalizing on it differently- perhaps with a brutal heavy weapon exotic (bonus ammo for that too) and just a legendary fusion rifle- will be viable too. This concept is what I spend about half of my final guide talking about. Having both versatility and the ability to specialize will come in incredibly handy throughout the game and unlike most RPGs, you can dramatically change spec in seconds.

Don't rely on drops, work on getting one of the factions to rank 2 so you can start buying legendary armor. Make sure you are doing bounties as those give a lot of points toward rep.

I've been doing bounties for the most part. I believe with my Vanguard rank, I'm level 1 with 691/2000 to get to the next level.

When you say factions, are you talking about the ones for the crucible; Future War Cult, Dead Orbit and New Monarchy?

This is why you praise the sun with a Sunbro.

Gives a bit of margin for error on the cheap deaths. It saved me from a wipe because of the stupid Psion Arc wave.

I haven't heard of anyone receiving raid armor for a class other than what they are playing. So I assume it is guaranteed to be for your class. If anyone had received raid armor for a class other than they were playing, the blowback would have definitely been noticed by now.

Shadow Price or Grim Citizen III? I cannot believe I will have to buy my first Legendary weapon; actually, no I'm not... I've had to buy all my Legendary and Exotic gear besides the Queen's Helm. Fuck you, RNG!

I've never seen it but anything is possible. Every raid gear drop I have seen has been for the class being played.

Guardians Unite!

Looking to do the Hard Raid tonight and over the weekend. I have completed the Raid on normal at least 10 times and have completed on Hard 1-2 times (once fully and once just on the last section).

PS4
Cosmos_Man

Level 29 Titan
Striker and Defender subclasses both maxed

7 Exotic Weapons
Legendary weapons for oracles and harpies/supplicants

Many cheese and strategy methods explored for all phases of the Raid.

Anytime after 6pm EST tonight and anytime over the weekend. Feel free to send me a Friend Request or PM me.

Definitely in for this, but I might be a bit under experienced.

Level 29 warlock

Main is fully levelled Dr nope , fully levelled gjallarhorn and a legendary fusion for oracles

I should really try it on normal a few more times but I'm a sucker for hard modes.

PSN is sploatee.

Problem is I'm on GMT, I'll be around tomorrow evening GMT.

But its not a guarantee that Raid armor does drop right? Just random like other Strikes and missions?

I won't be available for the next five hours but I'd love to do it during the weekend!

Whoa! Did you put the next part of the guide out? The builds part? I am wondering if intellect counts for the crucible? Sad to see Xur didn't have the spine this week. Sigh. I needed it.

Did I just do something dumb? I had a bounty which sounded like some shotgun bounty. Did not know what it was and dropped it. Was it something important?

Does level matter at all in PVE if you're doing a mission lower level than you are? In a level 24 strike, do I take less damage as a level 27 than I would at a 26? I know you do less damage if the mobs are higher level. But i'm wondering if my armor defense stat matters at all. If a level 22, 24 and 26 strike are all exactly the same for me that's pretty dumb. I can't even tell.

Was it a gold bointy? If so, it was an exotic bounty, which rewards an exotic weapon (shotgun in your case).

Not yet, it's in progress! And yeah, hopefully Ahamkara's coming next week ;)

Int/Disc/Str do count in the Crucible.

Unfortunately... the nature of "raid gear equals best-in-slot" effectively means that you really can't build about those stats at all. You have to equip the raid armor that drops for you. That means that the best advice is really to ignore those stats altogether when building, and just take advantage of the ones you wind up with as best you can. This is one of my least favorite things about the game right now.

Yep those are the different factions. If you're not having fun just playing the game the way you want to and feel that is keeping you stagnant for too long and just want to level up fast, just focus on one and get it to 2 so you can start buying legendary gear. With bounties you should be able to get to Vanguard rank 2 in 2 or 3 days if you do all the bounties each day.

Once you get one faction to rank 2, you'll get to 27 pretty dang quick. Once you buy one legendary gear you can start doing the queens mission and get both the helm and the chest in no time, then you'll be 25. Once the next Tuesday comes which should be right after you get rank 2 so perfect timing you can grind a few more Vanguard reps and buy a second piece of armor and then you'll have all 4 armor pieces legendary. Collect a few helium and you'll be able to level them up and be 27 and doing basically anything in the game except for the Raid in hard mode.

By early next week you'll be running newbies through the raid I predict.
