The issues with just letting people "fucking try" is that a lot of people who can not beat hard content immediately call for nerfs. We've already seen it in the amount of people who call Destiny's strike bosses "bullet sponges," which they are not by any means.

I understand that specific people have trouble getting groups together and that's an unfortunate side effect of Bungie's decision but we live in an age where the Internet makes finding people to game with incredibly easy. You can find people in-game and out of game. Use Bungie.net or dozens of other websites and forums. I constantly see people getting groups together here on Gaf with other people that they don't know at all outside of all of them being a member of this very forum.

And I don't have to be "hurt" personally by a requested feature to disagree with the request.



You don't even need to be friends with 5 other people. Just be willing to group with people and be willing to work together and not flip out on others for making mistakes because mistakes will be made and there will be wipes. That's all you need to be able to attempt the raid.

You shoot them in the face for 10 minutes then they die. Bungie is also nerfing their health. In what universe are the bosses not bullet sponges?
 
We just tormented ourselves through a 5 hour raid. 4 hours of that was the final boss. It just didn't want to work. I was THIS close to smash my controller.
At least I got the Monte Carlo exortic auto rifle at the end so it was at least good for something.

But if you've stopped playing the Strike playlist (only Vanguard Tiger lvl 24 playlist gives rewards like this, and NOT often though) you should check it out. It also replaced farming because you actually get a great amount of blue and sometimes legendary engrams. Well worth it. Now go get your Ice Breakers young grasshoppers!

Ha. I wish the engram was something I needed, I bought the Exotic helmet that was up two weeks ago, the next week we have a helmet for the exotic engram, and this week too. Just sell an exotic weapon engram already! I hate the RNG.
 
I hopped into the Atheon fight at the end of a raid to help my buddys group out with it. I think we managed to do it in 30 minutes and that was with one or two guys who hadn't done it. It's quite the difference from the five or so hours day one :3

I've been dying to get an Ice Breaker, it's like one of the two last exotic pieces I want.


Will have to throw down in vanguard tiger tomorrow after raid's done. Only really stopped cos of lack of time, I very much enjoy the strike playlist.
 
Gun dude is selling rare fusion rifles and I only have enough for 5. Does anyone have a link to some quick money farming guide or video or something.

That's where I got mine too, though it was the patch prior to this. Still to date the only reward I've gotten from Tiger strikes that wasn't rare quality. Random as heck.

There are just more phases to the Templar encounter. Plus there is no damage modifier like there is against Atheon, so playing very well in the second encounter speeds up the fight dramatically, whereas there is no mechanic to leverage to that extent against Templar.

That's totally doable if you personally get yourself into a cheese box at the final boss where he can't hit you. At the very least you are offering a service in not letting your team wipe by staying alive. Plus you can do your fair share of damage. Even better if you're a BD and can stealth rez.

I actually think it's mostly a problem with base level strikes. Heroic strikes feel fine, imho. Your team can deal more burst damage, and the fights are more about managing adds.

Don't get me wrong, I definitely felt like they were dull and bullet spongy when I was leveling up. (Which is very arguably the worst time for it to feel that way)
