I agree, my issue is just that I have an 11 round hand cannon that kills in fewer shots that's a rare. That's why I suggested more impact, considering the opportunity cost of missing. You have to make a solid 4-5 hits to get a kill (might be 3 headshots) out of a 6 round mag. Make it 2 headshots, at least, I figure. Not to mention the fact that the DoT couldn't compare to my HC unless it was significantly more than what I've seen. I've gone head to head with Thorn users with this same hand cannon and I've won 9/10 times. Thorn is pretty much never the best choice (again, from what I've seen).

You can infer a few things from some of their interviews. The reason the raid has so many more interesting mechanics is that there is no matchmaking, thus is it likely that a group knows each other and/or is on chat. They just assumed the worst of their potential audience in making the strikes as dull and trite as possible. This is because strikes have matchmaking and, I assume, because randoms might not know what to do or they might grief or some such nonsense. So instead of being creative and intelligent their solution was to make every strike near exactly the same. Even the raid, I think, has its issues when it comes to coordination.
Interesting. I'm curious as to see what happens to the eventual sequel, design-wise. I'm actually slightly excited for the new raids. Not much else, though (Keep it up, raid guy!).
I agree that Bungie aiming for the common denominator made their game suffer in the long run.
White and distorted effect on your screen for about two seconds. Your HUD will also disappear for about 4-5 seconds.
PvE enemies are slowed down and cannot act for about 5 seconds.

All it said when the raid ended was that I got chatterwhite. Went to the tower, had mail, picked up atheons epilogue. Very weird considering my main weapon slots were not full, or is that normal?

Yup. I hate to say it, but the strikes, as they are now, we're just a waste of Bungie man hours. They really offer nothing special to the players, whether it be gameplay-wise or story-wise.

Asshole gunsmith FINALLY decided to sell rare fusion rifles so I splurged all my glimmer on them and special ammo refills. Roamed Nightfall Mars all fucking night for 200 fusion kills. Xur also decided to sell the gauntlets I wanted and I had enough to buy them.

I feel like I played 3 hours tonight and got nothing.

took one hour 13 minutes. i used 77 wizard only, never left rumble, for 7 matches. never hit my super except to end one super close match, never switched to hawkmoon no matter how stupid the engagement distance.
results, 3 wins 4 heartbreaking losses, 3 of them with me in second. that last match was crazy close until the 1500s in score, I was behind by 105 but in last place because of how much the lead was changing, and then this guy with Shadow Price just took off.

At least some folks in my group got some good drops though, The Last Word exotic handgun dropped for two people, some raid gear and the glass minuet ship went to another guy. It's all good, I figure no huge content update until December, so I'll get the raid gear by then, right?? lol

You need to kill the Knights, Acolytes, and Thrall to get him to spawn. He arrives on the third tomb ship. The Wizards seem to spawn infinitely and shooting them over and over does nothing.
I swear this fucking game drives me nuts, he hasn't sold any rare fusion rifles for days and then they pop up for a few hours, how the fuck am I supposed to do the exotic bounty when the only way to get what I need is a 3 hour window once a week ? or blind luck ...

He's sold them at least 3 times since reset lol.
The first time I tried it I took the advice of a bunch of gaf members and hid in the first room killing whatever came in. Was told to gun down everything until he spawns, wizards included. It took an hour for Xyor to spawn as the knights and acolytes would rarely come in the room and we were just killing Wizards over and over.
When I tired it again my friend thought there must be another way, so we ran out and ignored the Wizards and just killed everything else. He spawned in 15 minutes, plus it was a lot more fun.

Yeah, that was damn fun. Thanks for the invite to the raid (MrJellyBean here). It was awesome to have a great group to go through it for the first time. After looking through my haul I got 10 shards, 2 energies, Chatterwhite and some Raid boots. I'll take it. A little jealous of the guy who got The Last Word though. Hope to do it again next week with everyone.
I think I've almost reached my limit with this as my go-to game atleast til the first expansion hits. I've little to no interest in the PvP (I've had the Thorn bounty for 3 days now and gaining 40-60 points per game (Voidwalker, Void Auto Rifle/Fusion/Rocket) I just can't bring myself to play through more than 2 games back to back.
The lack of PvE content really hit me this week..Cleared the raid on normal in just over an hour, 20-30mins per character to clear weekly nightfall 3 times, got through 2 heroics but the thought of doing that again to get 9 more coins that I can spend on exotics I'll never equip because of stupid restrictions isn't all that appealing.
Hopefully we move onto VoG Hard next reset, otherwise I'll probably get all of my Destiny gaming done for the week 3 hours after reset..

After extensive play testing, I can confirm that Hunters > Titans. Warlocks are awaiting judgement.
I really think you need to enjoy the pvp and pve to find this game a long term prospect.
Luckily I love both.
Incoming rant though...
I am finding the pvp inceasingly frustrating. In the morning it's fine, but from 8pm onward (the time I'll mostly be playing now due to work hours) the game starts to feel like I'm playing in mud. Post mortems every few kills, shots hitting dead on and not doing damage for 2-3 seconds, being melee killed but the screen not shoiwng the enemies melee animation at all, sometimes shots not registering at all (and I'm a good shot), and so on...
I usually average around 2-3 k/d (sometimes 4-5) when I play fps online, but my Destiny k/d is 1.25. When I get a good connection I score 2-5 k/d every time, the majority of the time I'm hovering around 1 as most of my kills are lag infused trades.
It doesn't help that the time in the evening that it gets worse is the time the better players come online.
Sitll not sure if this is my conenction or the game. I have the ps4 set up with a static dmz ip, tired numerous dns, wired connection and wireless, tried using my phone as a hotspot (4g), no luck. Moving house in November and switching isp so we'll see.
I wish I could get this thing stable.
I love Hunter's chains for Hand cannons. The constant reload buffs are pretty amazing. Their supers are fun in pvp.
In pve Titans are far more useful.
Nightfall isn't bullet sponge. It's the one mode in the game where the strikes feel perfectly balanced imo. The xBurn modifier makes them just right and the NF modifier forces you to stay on your toes.
No need to cheese them at all, a 3 man will tear through NF strikes in no time if you bring the right tools. A 2 man will do just fine too.
I'm really pumped at how long Destiny has been keeping me entertained. There is still so much more I want from the game that isn't there, but it's so fun to play. Leveling a second character has been some of the most fun I've had with the game, now that I know how maximize my exp gains and know how to play the game. Titan has actually been different compared to Hunter, as Defender I have actual ways to survive when up close so I've been playing closer to the frontline lately. Not to mention being able to make use of the exotics I've gotten for it (Got Helm of Inmost Light out of the Exotic Engram this week).
My Hunter is sitting at light level 28. Still plenty to do on him but it's pretty repetitive, so I've decided after I get my crucible marks up for the week I'm gonna take a break from him for a bit. For now he can feed my Titan engrams so he can get geared.
I got 3 days left until Queen's Bounty is done so I'm going to try to get some legendary gear for my Titan. He's currently Light Level 23 so one more level to go and I should be able to give it a shot in a group.

Wow lol, I did Vanguard Tiger and it threw me in Summoning Pits solo. Got boss down to 5%, random joins and dies as I finish the boss and he gets a legendary engram while I get two blues.
I bet he'll have an amazing story when someone asks him how he got that exotic he inevitably decrypts.

I did it mostly with a machine gun and camping the heavy ammo spawns. A shotgun with good range helped a bit, too.

Rumble, shotgun / fusion rifle (if you have one). I completed the bounty in like 10 games.
I believe you have to finish the daily before the reset -- not start it before.
