My specs are as follows:

Intel Core I7 2600K
Nvidia GTX 670 4 GB
8 GB RAM
Win 7
SSD

I run at a constant 60 FPS at 1080p with everything maxed.

To remove intro movies (20th century fox, Creative Assembly, AMD):

Go to \DATA\UI\MOVIES in the installation folder.
2. Delete or rename AMD_IDENT.USM, FOX_IDENT.USM, and CA_IDENT.USM.

per http://pcgamingwiki.com/wiki/Alien:_Isolation

Boy the GTX 580 is such a beast, thing is like 4 years old and can still pull off most games 60+ FPS on highest settings no problem at 1080p.

Hope my PC can run it,

Asus X99 DLX Motherboard
Intel Core i7 5960X @ 4Ghz
16GB Corsair Vengeance LPX 2666MHz DDR4
GTX 980 SLI
Samsung 1TB SSD
Corsair 850w PSU

Thoughts?

For reference the console versions are limited to 30fps and it sounds like the PC has graphical effects absent on consoles :
Alien: Isolation' is a game that plunges players into a haunting, terrifying atmosphere," said Clive Gratton, Lead Programmer, Creative Assembly. "The visual experience plays such a fundamental role in the 'feel' of the game that we went the extra mile to craft an in-house engine that fully articulates our vision. AMD has graciously helped us augment that engine for the PC with a number of effects, such as contact-hardening shadows, compute-based particles, HDAO and DirectX 11 tessellation. Support for immersion and performance technologies like AMD Eyefinity and CrossFire technologies make the whole PC experience even better!"

It should be good at 720p.

wow @ those frame rates.

No one should have trouble with this game.

I have the game preordered for both PC and PS4. If it runs great on PC I am not sure if I will keep my PS4 preorder since NBA 2k15 comes out the same day. I just wish I knew for sure. Ever since the new consoles have come out PC ports have been terrible.

pretty insane considering a 7850 breezes past 60fps. the engine must be more CPU bound.

So no 8GB cards? Maybe you should consider getting the PS4 version instead.

Doesn't seem any worse than usual to me as a 2GB 670 owner. Considering the lack of bodies and commotion to eat up raw processing power in this game it should be a piece of cake.

Are there any benchmarks for 2560x1440? Wondering what I could run at with my 970 downsampling
I run Mordor at 2560x1440 on my 970 with almost all settings ultra and get consistent 50+ fps so it'll probably run this game smooth as butter at even higher downsampling.

lol 1920x1080

Guys on 780s/290s/970s and up really shouldn't trouble themselves with such a lowly relic of a standard. :P

Impressive-results with the SLI/CF setups, I would have thought CPU limitations would have prevented such high FPS if the game were so heavily CPU-bound (unless it's making good use of multiple threads, which is rare for the truly CPU-bound games, hence why they're usually so explicitly CPU-limited).

you wasted a lot of money on those stuff and still can't play mordor with ultra textures. :lol

With those framerates, what's it like on consoles? I assume 1080p/60fps ?
Seems like really well optimized engine.

I run two 670s and still use 1680x1050. ;) "If it ain't broke, don't fix it"... although that being said my monitor is literally falling apart in places. Maybe I'll buy a new one after Steam's Winter Sale.

The CPU used in the benchmarks is extreme, so I'm thinking the same thing.

It has lower IPC than Devil's Canyon, X99 CPUs are more for workstations than gaming, i7 4790K will outperform it in games, as well as any Core i5/3 variant, since games are more sensitive to IPC performance, rather than scale with number of cores.

Dat silky smooth 144FPS+ though...

This seems to run great on almost anything, job well done by the devs.

Side note, AMD not doing too hot lately with Mordor and this game now being beaten quite badly on the cpu front.

I have a few years old Nvidia GTS 560. I never really play PC games, but I really want to try this. CPU, RAM and PSU isn't a problem. I don't really care what frame rate - so long as it's above 30FPS. Should I go for it?

I would advice against it imho.

Edit: ignore this post.

I wonder if consoles will be locked to 30FPS again. It seems, that at least PS4 should be bale to handle 60FPS no problem, from these tests it seems like game should run at 1080p@60FPS on PS4 and 900p@60FPS on Xbox One, if taking only GPU into account.

If Alien runs at 30FPS on PS4 and Xbox One, seems like CPUs are the cause of these, probably being same case with Shadow of Mordor.

Don't see why not, it's on the benchmarks. 1080 at VHQ will get 50ish FPS it appears. Knockit down a couple pegs and it'll probably be 60.

It's 30fps on consoles apparently. Never heard any report of 60fps but the hardware could allow that.

Thanks, sounds excellent. As I say, I'm not really fussed about frame rate. So long as it runs and my PC doesn't explode. I have an i7 processor, 16GB RAM and a 900w PSU. It's just my graphics card that's out of date...!

Maybe it's just due to art direction, but to me, the game looks crazy good. Very surprised at these framerates. I can't imagine this game being very CPU heavy either (you do after all get the same game with same exact gameplay features on PS360), so it's that much more weird that it's not 60FPS on PS4 if it can run 50 average even on 7770.

Why?

I think you'll encounter issues and might have to lower way too many settings and in turn would be unable to get a decent looking game with it nevermind an average of 30 fps.

Or worse, having to drop the resolution.

just my two cents, i have my limits as far as lowering settings
