Brought the Red Death because it's abilities are nice and I already regret it. The spread is too big for it to be good at longer ranges, and it fires to slow to be useful at closer ranges. It's decent at mid range but I'd rather take a hand cannon for mid range encounters. I'll keep it for a bit to see if any buffs happen, but if not I'll just dismantle it.

got my first legendary engram ever and it was a for chest but I already have an exotic it 
That's around what I have done since the patch and haven't had as much as a Legendary as an reward yet. Also, only twice out of all the Tiger Strikes I've done has there been an Legendary rewarded to one of the randoms I was with.
Once you reach the mark cap and don't have any luck with Strike rewards it is hard to find the motivation to continue until the reset.

I have a level 28 hunter, just got my titan to 21 and have started a warlock who is at 8. This is by far the biggest time sink I have had in gaming for years. I have read the grimoire, listened to podcasts, watched streams and actually broke my vow of PSN solitude to add friends and join a clan. Thanks Bungie, I appreciate you making this game. 
The gorgon maze is so easy I don't see the point in cheesing it. Besides, there's a chest.
Keep it for now because pulse rifles are getting a buff.
Also, for long range, I just use a sniper rifle. Anything close to mid, and this thing does a lot of damage especially when you upgrade it and aim for precision hits. The healing effect kicks in right when the thing you're fighting is dead and it stops when you get hit.

Bought the bike upgrade from Xur. Still have the regular one... God damn it, gonna have to spend 175 marks on one. But then I will be flying through everything.

Actually, I found that all pvp bounties are somewhat ok. Sure, some are harder (like this one), but it depends more on your familiarity with the gun than anything. Go in clash or rumble for maximum efficiency imho.

Just did the raid. Took us again 3 hours and a half. Mainly cause we kept doing dumb mistakes on the second boss and the gorgon maze lol. Also one of our dudes couldn't get past the disappearing blocks part, so we once again stayed there for ages.
Oh and the best part after doing the raid? I got:
- Legendary solar rocket launcher
- Warlock bond (shines like crystal, like the champagne)
- the same shotgun I got on the first run (which I destroyed).
My friends got 1/2 armor pieces from both of the raids we've done. And I have nothing. So I spent all my shards in my current armor and tomorrow I'll finish doing that, though I will barely not have enough (I'll need like 5 more to be fully leveled up legendary armor) and reach 29. I think I'm fine with that. I have so many other games to play and having to rely on RNGesus for fucking proper drops to reach 30 is crap. I am taking the high road Bungie.
Which I never do. Good job on making me give up I guess.

I absolutely love the PvP. It's unbalanced as hell right now, but it doesn't even bother me most of the time.
I use a Pulse Rifle (Red Death) in PvP and it does really well. I don't really feel like I'm constantly getting one shotted, but I don't know -- I've played a metric ton of the PvP at this point and understand the maps and where to be, when to run from certain situations and so on. It's all about your understanding of the game, not so much which Auto Rifle you or someone else is spraying bullets with.

If you're a Titan then do yourself a favor and buy the Saint-14 helmet before Xur goes down. It's probably the best solo equipment for Titan atm. The blinding effect that Ward of Dawn gives is incredibly useful when facing harder challenges alone. I used it yesterday on the daily mission when all the minotaurs spawn at the end. I picked a good narrow spot to use the shield and they just kept rushing into it getting blinded one by one. And if the blinding effect disappeared I just moved around so they would run into the shield again. Complete idiots!

It's not only blue, RNG is just screwing you over. I had at least 3 packages out of 5 that gave me legendaries.
I've gotten legendaries from the cryptarch postmaster packages.

RNG in the raid is fucked. someone before said it best - you can luck into a full set on your first run, or you can raid 100 times and not see a single piece drop.
fix seems simple enough - limit shards and energy to chests, drop ships/sparrows/shaders at the beginning of each boss and weapons/gear at the end. even if it's something you already have, you can still dismantle it for energy or shards or give it to an alt.
I'll join if there's still room (PS4 I assume?).

I got a legendary engram for gaining a level with Rahool today......it turned into ascendant energy but it was still a purple engram
tried the raid for the 1st time with 3 friends and two guys from here
started at the last boss. spent 3 hours trying to beat him, got him down to 10% numerous times but we would always fail ;( sucks to die while in the shield...
still, was fun and I'm confident we can beat him on the next try

yeah, i know. it can still be fun for me but it can all come crashing down if i run into too many afk players trying to farm strike and get me and the other guy doing all the work. if anything though, it's a good way to keep lvling the cryptarch and hope something lucky happens.
so, is the fastest speed bike you can buy or earn (besides RNG or the hard mode raid) the one the vanguard guy sells by the shipmaster? it's really the only reason i'm trying to get rank 3 vanguard instead of just gaining more future war cult rep. i wanna go fast.
you need an exotic armor piece and the other ones to be legendary. give priority to upgrading the exotic
Yeah I got 0 armor pieces for running the raid today which means I kind of didn't make any progression towards being able to do VoG HM.

I'm fairly certain you can get there without an exotic but you'd need to max out more legendary gear. Someone prove me wrong so I won't feel as bad for misleading the guy.

My spoils:
- Vision of Confluence - Legendary scout rifle with that does solar damage
- Chatterwhite shader
- Ass energy and a couple of shards

lol I wasn't complaining. I had enough time to play "this is my swamp" with YouGotReaped as we fought to keep the position in that tiny tower.
Which now makes it where if there is ever a custom games in Destiny, there needs to be a sumo game of pushing guardians until there is the last guardian standing.

They should just give you at least one guaranteed legendary gear per raid. If you have progression you won't complain as much. But fuck it, cut a chicken's head off and hope for the best. This reminds me why I started playing Shadow of Mordor. At least when an Orc kills me I know it wasn't due to RNG. It was because they were sneaky fucks.
