Pretty sure if you do 250 Assassination patrol missions you get an ingame bonus that gives you a material for every squad of enemies you kill.

Apparently. Assassination missions are the ones with the star in the middle.
I mean, you're going to have to grind either way. Either get the 250 missions done with and you're set for the rest of the game's life or you grind the mats every single time you need it.

I don't even have suros once. Should've bought it last week but didn't. Because Last Word is too fun to use. I just now know that I have to stick outside fighting harpies for sure, it's great against them. Just not oracles.

Just out of curiousity, because I've been hearing this from quite a few Destiny players. Have you attempted/completed a raid in an MMO before?
I remember someone posting that they did around 200 in a 4 hour period to level up their Vanguard rep. Then again I did a 30 min session and was bored at that point. I'm just going to do it in short bursts so I make some progress.

Yes I've raided a lot in Everquest and Wow.
It reminds me of my time with those encounters but wrapped in a FPS. It's great.

if it makes you feel better it isn't the best exotic ever. I mean better than the current underpowered yes. But it's biggest thing is the cool animation. All of its skills are meant for hip firing. You shoot really fast if hip firing. You do extra precision damage if hip firing. The range is kind of crap, though stability can be great if you so desire.
Still, an awesome weapon just not useful in PvP most likely because it doesn't do redunk damage faster than an AR right now.

Cool, just curious as to what part of the experience was enjoyable for you. I'm asking everyone with that reaction btw, not trying to be antagonistic. I think I understand, I enjoyed it a lot as well being someone who has alot of previous MMO experience.
I need to find a group for hard mode. My group almost completed Atheon on hard last week, but all my buddies in game have started hanging up their guns and looking for greener pastures. I'd like to complete the raid on hard though or I won't feel like I've exhausted the content.
Exotics always have more light than legendaries once leveled up.

Not a big fan of the last word... hip firing is not my style. The animations are cool, though, so I didn't melt it.
Not that I'm actually complaining about my raid drops... at least I got something other than ass parts this time.

I'm getting used to it now but yeah, you need to be within shotgun range for hipfire to be effective. Still aiming and shooting is still damn useful. Just not as good as saw Hawkmoon would be.

This compounded the hurt for me, I knew all of these points days after I hit 20. But my dissonance was too strong. I laughed at this video because I'm already in the acceptance stage, but it still stung.

Our group makes a point to gather some materials in the drop zone whenever we do strikes - but even doing that we're all out of helium - and we all need it - but none of us wants to grind for materials.
Its a shit system right now.

So.... I did most of VoG with a PuG... I think it's sad that there is literally only one area in the game where you have encounter design with mechanics like that, all of the strikes are very "shoot the guy and kill the adds" bullet sponge mechanics.

It's still way better than we had before.
Yeah I haven't seen a legendary engram since the patch. All I see are blues although I had one turn into a legendary.

Cryptarch is still an asshole. Now instead of assuming my purple engrams will be blue items, I'm just going to assume they will just be ascendant mats. That or gear for the class I don't play (Hunter).
