You just have to get lucky and find higher level gear. Level 20 rares will help you get to the mid 20s or so, then you need to farm for legendaries. Hopefully they bring the Queen's Wrath thing back later to help new players.

The 3 bounties are random... just look it up on a wikia to see which gun you want to get. You can only pick one though.

No engram farming technique will ever be good to those of us who tried the loot cave even the one time.

Also that perception patch has messed with the glorious purple rain that made it almost bearable (even though it's probably better now).

My friends and I have been pulling randoms from the Tower to do raids. It's worked out for the most part.

We message them, ask if they have a mic. If they do, we send them a chat party invite. It's simple as that. I still think MM can work to some extent.

As for the actual raid. It takes a while to get into a flow. But after people realize what their roles are, it's like we've been playing together for months.

Every time me and a cousin tried that on xbox one we got an insult message back.

All bungie need to do is allow people to flag themselves up for a raid and/or make a damn lobby system people can make rooms in, you don't need matchmaking just the ability to know if someone wants to raid and is ready to do so.
 
I am swimming in Spirit Bloom (and both my Legendary Armor and new Sunbreakers use it^^) But my new Legendary helm I bought from the Vanguard uses Helium....ㅠㅠ What is a decent way to get helium? I have just been doing patrol and picking up stray helium and chests as I find them, but since I mostly do Strikes and Dailey missions with my brothers I rarely have more than 30 minutes a day for patrols...

First area of the Moon. There are videos all over the place that show the run.
 
i just wish people put in the request that it pertains to 'the raid'

If I hop in a party and its going to the raid, i know this is at least a 3 hour ordeal
as opposed to maybe an hour and two strikes, or a couple crucible matches

The game can determine whether a player has a connected microphone, since you get a little icon when you do. I doubt it would be hard for them to make that one of the possible group filters. 'Mic Only'.
 
Looking for some advice. I just hit level 26 with a almost fully leveled defender titan.

I have an exotic helm, legendary chest/gauntlets, rare boots. One legendary hand cannon, no other legendary/exotic weapons.

Not sure I am ready to start the raid; but need gaf thoughts?
 
We tried the Atheon fight for 5 hours last night. People kept messing up... And the game was glitching a lot. Sending the wrong people, people taking damage under the bubble, etc. We didn't beat his final form.

I'd wait till 27. You can do it at 26 but you'll be much more effecitve if you level once more.

Especially if you're not overly confident.

Thanks...I was going to try to fully level up the armor I have before trying anyway so that should get me to 27 or 28 and maybe allow to be blessed by RNG with some additional legendary weapons (not holding my breath)

I think it'd be better to go in with at least a legendary fusion rifle and a primary that isn't a hand cannon IMO.

Level 27 wouldn't hurt either. Be sure to buy all the Exotic weapons from Xur every weekend.
 
So does anyone know how the Attack stat on weapons work for level scaling?

I'm trying to find numbers, but all the websites just give a vague idea.

If I am a level 28 character and I fight level 28 enemies and my sniper has 300 attack, does that mean 300 base damage (based on impact) on the enemies?
 
So finally got the weekly strike done yesterday thanks to some people on here, only took 40 minutes to get a game going. That lack of matchmaking, who needs that shit? ;)

Damage output on normal mode isn't too much of a concern. We ran it with half our group only having fully levelled rares and won just fine. Obviously helped that the other half had a few legendaries amongst them.

It's much more about staying consistent. Even with the above group, our first successful Atheon kill was in four portals.
 
My main is a hunter but I've been leveling a titan alt 1) because I think a tank-type character seems effective and 2) the titans just look boss with chunky armor and that banner mark around the waist. But I'm curious: any thoughts on defender versus striker? I play both PvE and PvP but I tend to play solo or with randoms - I'm not aiming to raid anytime soon but wouldn't mind strikes and nightfalls in a group.

The only part of the game that is frustrating me to the point that I sometimes consider not firing up the game are the loading times and the (lack of) stability in pvp.

If these things were made better I could play this game happily for days.

Just play both and see which one suits.

Defender can be played defensively and aggressively, while Striker is full on assault. Both are very effective if used correctly in pvp, but the Striker is a lot less useful for most higher end content in pve.
 
thanks all for the advice...it seems the consensus is to get to grinding a little more for a higher levels but at least a few better weapons...I'll be back

Hit me up on PS4 PSN if you want (dancmc)....I don't get all that much time to play but have somehow found about 40 hours to put into this game over the last 4 weeks. I hope to be on this afternoon while watching the (American) football games
 
Got a Raid Vest + Gloves, as well as a Legendary Sniper rifle from the raid yesterday. Still have the final boss to go though.

Praying to RNGesus he will bless me with the boots as well when we kill Atheon or whatever his name is :D
 
Loving this game, but (and maybe because of it?) I just can't keep noticing so many stupid misses and things that should be there.

Not even talking about all the grimoire information missing from the actual game (wtf?), certain information like your current Vanguard or faction level is so hard to tell. Maps missing in-game, information only available while on the Orbit when it should be available at any time (we are in the future, right? this is not some sort of fantasy game where things like internet or other form of communications doesn't exist).

So yeah, some of the missing info is just annoying. Otherwise love the game, but jeez...

I still can't believe people want matchmaking for Raids and Nightfall. Can you imagine being at the last boss on the raid, one of your group disconnecting, and some random dropping in, taking his place. What do you do then? Go back to orbit, screwing the guy who wants to match make, and ruining the flow of your raid.

If they can toggle it, that's fine. However, I haven't seen anything that suggests it would be easy to have it as a user option.

Fusion > Heavy > Pulse.

But it depends if they really buff the Bad Juju later though.

That said, the Heavy is the easiest one to do. Fusion requires a lot of money and Juju requires you play on Crucible.

Hah....this was my fear...just as I started to get to the end game content, other new games would start hitting that would draw my attention...I already am interested in Middle-Earth and now FH2, Driveclub, Sunset overdrive, bayonetta 2, etc....want to get to 30 before I have too many more new games hit that draw me away.
 
Destiny is actually saving me money right now. I don't have the time nor the interest to play other games atm. When I finally get around to playing them, they'll be dirt cheap.

Why would you have to return to orbit? The guy could just spawn in at the last checkpoint, just like strike matchmaking does already.
