Me and 2 friends are looking to do VoG here soon on PS4. Looking for 3 more from here!
We're 28/27/27.

Preferably 27's or 28's (or higher) cause I want this to go as smoothly as possible.

We also need someone who knows their way around the raid/has been relic holder before. I've done the raid before but I played a very passive role and the other 2 are new and will need some leadership.

I've also got a raid scout rifle that does extra damage against oracles so that'll be a help.

Golden gun isn't even close to useless in raids or strikes. One of the hunters on my raid team runs it and is esstinal to our strategy. He can clean out those portals in the raid faster then anyone.

I think the opposite is true, haha. Gunslinger is extremely useful for clearing the adds in the portals. It was pretty much essential on hard. Strikers and Voidwalkers are pretty much useless during raids. In fact, people get scolded for playing those classes.

But I can take out all three hobgoblins and leave the minotaur at a sliver of health in seconds with Golden Gun on Atheon. I don't see how that's useless.

This ^. If you're a hunter golden gun should probably be the only thing you use to raid, unless you want to stealth revive. Bladedancing is too high risk, you can easily screw your team over if you die.

Get Bungie on their own asses. What else did they expect to happen when they link accomplishments to multiplayer modes? They make a grindy bounty requiring an obnoxious amount of strikes, requiring anywhere from 6-12 hours of work, and people aren't going to try to find a way around it?

Yeah...I'd say they are the ones to blame here. This happens in every game. I've said forever that multiplayer trophies are dumb, and this is no different. It just encourages bad behavior. What's the point in doing all those strikes anyway? There's no logical reason to make the number that high other than to force people to take extra time. Much like the 10 rare fusion rifles, which would take obnoxiously long to attain the normal way. So people just buy and dismantle.

Humans will be humans. Bungie should know this. They should've made the number of strikes 5 or something. Then I'd understand getting mad. But since it's 25 strikes, I can't fault people for going afk. I've done 8 of the 25 so far, and even skipping through huge chunks, it's still taking long. I don't mind though, because I like the increased rewards from the Tiger playlist. PEACE.

I 100% agree about gunslinger usefulness and how awesome GG is for the raid.

Just wanted to point out that you will be losing a lot of DPS on Atheon if you GG him. Super damage isn't increased by the buff. You're better off using GG to mop up the supplicants when you get unlimited super before your relic team comes back through the portal and then use your weapons on Atheon.

Touche, folks. I should've said that I'M ten shades of useless with the GG. LOL! I've honestly never seen it be useful in a raid. I've had great success with Voidwalker at Atheon, though. One blast of the super clears all the adds on that side. It's just much more effective at crowd control, in my hands. I prefer Sunsinger, but I switch to voidwalker just for that fight, because the resurrections are useless, as are solar grenades. PEACE.
 
anyone able to help me with the thorn final xyor fight? Can't seem to survive these knights and wizards long enough to kill Xyor

Okay, groovy. She was all alone on the PS3 version of the game so he's excited to have someone to play with now.

I only asked because I remember reading people having issues on TLOU:R with joining the same party with someone on the same network.

Resurrections are definitely useless if your going for that no dying raid trophy/achievement. But it definitely helps especially on the hard raid since one person going down can screw over your entire team

Is this true for the templar as well? should I use my weapons instead of GG.

Lol It grew on me. It took some getting used to, coming from a fully upgraded SUROS but I enjoy using it now. It still needs a serious buff, though.

Maybe more ammo in the clip and bit more range or impact.

I won't disagree with the whole of this, but I don't think 25 is an unreasonable number. A couple of tiger strikes, and dashing through the moon strike a couple of times got me 5. Then I got another 5 for helping out doing a weekly strike, and a nightfall. So I'm up to 10 in just a couple of days. I'll get another 5 on Tuesday for the weekly and nightfall which leaves me 10 between now and when Xur comes back on Friday. No excuse to grief people by going afk, it's just not that hard. The moon strike only takes 5-10 minutes tops.

I find GG (all supers really) on bosses pretty pretty weak compared to a fully upgraded high impact snipe rifle or rocket launcher.

They are far more useful for cleaning up boss adds. If you can get your hands on and ice breaker, it will be your go to gun for pretty much every encounter other than burn modifier heroics.

Really, it would be better not to replay the same 6 missions over and over again. They should have thought out the endgame a bit more than this.
 
2 more people for normal VoG on PS4! Someone who has experience being relic holder (and knows their way around) would be awesome. We're 28/28/29/27.

Haha, thanks. When we first started dating, we used to play Halo 2 after school. We've been playing games together ever since. The raid should be a lot of fun with her since she'll be playing a Defender Titan.

Well, that's the second new thing about Destiny that I learned today. And I thought I was pretty well versed on the subject. That should be one of the first things a raid leader mentions when starting that section. What exactly is the time frame? When the relic is picked up, to going through the portal?
 
So, that first chest at the start of the Gorgon's area, two people in my group last night got an exotic weapon; one got Patience and Time, the other got Ice Breaker. Didn't know that chest can give you exotics, so that's cool.
 
Had my brother play my account to level up my Raid Helmet. He nearly maxed it out for me.

Which reminds me, to the gaffers that sent invites, I apologize. While I was online at the time, I wasn't actually playing the game. My brother was.

I hope she bought the helm from Xur this weekend! It makes the bubble fantastic for pvp and pve.

Thanks, I have the icebreaker but I'm working on fully leveling my suros first.
 
Right now, the Tiger Strikes have better rewards than crucible. Been getting the most useless shit. Not even blue engrams.

No matter how much I love the game, it's very evident a lot of things weren't thought through to completion.
 
I'm looking to start a PS4 raid in about a half hour and I need some people who have completed it before, preferably lvl 28+

I've gotten to Aetheon 3 times and each time our party fell apart/gave up. I got 2 of us already, anyone wanna help me finally beat a raid?

As soon as the relic team inside the portals kills the last oracle, a message will pop up above your super bar that says "guardians make their own path".

At this time the entire team has a buff for 30 seconds. You do MASSIVE damage to Atheon and have unlimited super and grenades.

It usually takes the relic team about five seconds to get back through the portal and into position. This should be when the outside team mops up the supplicants so they don't one shot the relic team when they come back through the portal.

GG is good for this, but void bomb is WONDERFUL for this. Having a lock or two on the outside is monster.
