PlayStation Network Thread (Vita/PS3/PS4) | October 2014

Odd. I get all my codes from them instantly. They used to mail them to me and it would take a couple days (but fast) but now it's just a code on the receipt page.

No, they changed things now sadly :(. Instead of informing people that they have the codes or not (so they is no more 'sold out' banner on the pages), they just leave it as is and they have a two week 'order' period for the PSN Code.

A rep I called today told me they DON'T have PSN codes; they only order a select amount depending on the amount of orders they get (so right now they are getting my code; they don't have any in the system).

So, they fumbled my plans up (was going to get MGS, but....instead I got Silent Hill and SotN). At least whenever my code does go through I can get either one of the Mega Man X PS1 games or some stuff on whatever is on sale next week :D.

I am finding I like the ps4 controller a lot more than my xbox 360 controller, is it plug and play with the pc or do I need to search and install drivers for pc support?

While DS4 could work natively on the PC, many games only support Xbox360 controller so you will need SCP Driver. Pretty painless setting up, and you only need to start the program every time you want to play game with DS4 controller. The only problem is many games still show Xbox360 button input so that will need time getting used to it.

DRIVECLUB just started pre-loading on my PS4... having problems containing my excitement with only just over a day between me and some racing.

Is that PS+ edition or the pre-ordered one?

Thinking about upgrading to a 64GB vita card. How much should I expect to sell my 32GB card for? And would it really help to try to sell my 8GB card with it for $10 more?

Question for anyone with 2 vitas, are you able to hot swap a mem card between the 2 if needed?

If you mean hot swap in the typical sense - while they're both on - then no, pulling the memory card makes you restart the Vita.

As for sharing a memory card between Vitas, you can; if both Vitas are logged into the same PSN account.

for those who use the bubble folders and plan on getting a ps tv (psv tv)

do not recommend swapping mem cards back and forth from the vita and pstv. reason being the system "reads" the card each time and the issue that happened was that it messes up your icons that were placed in the bubble folders taking them out of it and placing back on the homescreen. while its nothing too major might be an annoyance to some.

not sure if they fixed this either in a patch. have not attempted it in a long time as got a 64 gb for my psvtv also so i never had to swap cards again since. that and the sony patch notes do not go into super detail anyways.

After all the hype surrounding Danganronpa 2, I found it to be rather... Underwhelming. Oh well, I'm sure Another Episode will spark my interest again. First game is still the best for me. Time to move on.

Sad to see you didn't enjoy it. I thought the characters are much more interesting and I have better attachment to them, hence the game had bigger impact to me.

Do we know when will Helldiver and Android Assault Cactus be released on PS4? I need something for couch co-op aside from Diablo 3 on weekend.

Really? That's too bad. :(

I think it's an improvement on the first one in almost every way.

Nothing more specific than 2014 for both, IIRC.

The LE for IA/VT is so beautiful.

Xseed please bring this over here.

You mean for Life, right? :)

In all seriousness, this series needs more support. Estival Versus and Deep Crimson are still in the wind when it comes to being released over here, AFAIK. Also, costumes bought in Shinovi Versus transfer to Dekamori/Bon Appetit.
Well now that you said it like that. For life then ;)

So beautiful. I'm hooked on these Limited Edition packages! VitaGAF what are you doing to me :/

I just seen that Sorcery Saga: Curse of the Great Curry God Limited Edition is on sale over on Amazon.com for $27 as opposed to full price $50. Does VitaGAF approve? Not sure if this has been discussed. Sorry in advance :(

Well, I like the game. However, I have a major beef with it over one issue: DLC. It requires your Vita to be online to use it. Of course, the issue is solved since I just elected not to buy it. It's a fun game otherwise, so if you really want to fire a shot on a cute little roguelike, go for it.

Just still buy Shinovi Versus is all I ask.

Probably easiest to sell them separate. I'd be interested in buying one or the other, possibly. If you decide to get the 64, pm me and maybe we'll work something out?

It's a 'beginner' style traditional roguelike. You start each dungeon at level 1 but keep your equipment (which works well, you'll be overpowered in no time). Story is the sweet/cute variety of jrpg, and it's actually pretty silly/funny at times as characters constantly misunderstand each other and assume the worst. If you're looking for a solid, challenging roguelike, keep looking - stuff like magic is pretty broken (swords are far more powerful). If you want a semi-mindless fun little roguelike jrpg, it's worthwhile.

Platinum takes some grinding (you need to upgrade every weapon, etc) but it's not out of reach.

I bought it on the last time it was on sale on PSN. I don't collect LE type stuff and prefer digital so can't comment on that.

EDIT QUESTION:

Shadow of Mordor or Alien (both ps4)? Someone wants to get me a game as a present and my vita is set for awhile with Natural Doctrine so I want to grab one of those two. Any thoughts on which to grab?

Dude, I might buy Sorcery Saga.
And I don't even have my Vita yet. ._.

Well that will be annoying. I'll be forced to swap cards since I don't pay for PS+ to get cloud saving... you know, that thing that's free on Steam.

I'd pay $10 a year for a lower tier of PS+ that was just cloud saving and auto-updating/patching. When I get a PS4, I'd also love to be able to pay for online at a lower rate, and fuck all the free games I don't want or would rather own outright.

Cloud saving is convenient but what irks me is that Sony doesn't allow you to manage your own saves offline on the Vita (I'm not going to be subbed to PS+ forever).

Extractable saves are clearly already implemented with uploading/downloading from the cloud but just like all the other restrictions (wallpaper size compression, proprietary memory cards, CMA) it's a leftover consequence of PSP hacking through save exploits.

pretty much also the cma is a pita to use.

its an ok game. if anything get it for tge characters. i did since am a fan of mota's artwork. but as a shiren / fushigi dungeon fame its a little lacking gameplay and content wise.

<- this guy is awesome lol, the voice actor was great too.
I liked the game so i say buy the game... but that LE? Mmmm...

That LE sure looks nice, I'm just not that much into rhythm games unfortunately. I've tried, since around GAF there seem to be a lot of fans of that genre. It's just not my cup of tea.

Also I bought Neptunia just like I said on an impulse, and played a bit of it. I can see how people seem to enjoy the game, it is quite the satire that one lol. I don't know if it's the stress from school/work/life but I just don't seem to be able to put too much time into games without a problem popping into my brain.

I think I'm tired, and in need of a break, cannot wait for reading week.

Yeah, that would also be extremely convenient, and has been a chief complaint since day 1... especially before PS+ even allowed cloud saves on Vita.

I remember getting that first glimpse that it was coming with the FFX HD livearea screen cap, and just prior to that, games like Stealth Inc having to institute it into their crossplatform games manually... with games like Rogue Legacy still doing it, just to simplify the process and make it available for everyone, with or without PS+.

It's always been especially stupid for physical retail games. Deleting a game bubble shouldn't be deleting a save. It's not like these things have/need lithium batteries in them. I can easily segue this into the usual complaints about limits on game card sizes too.

Technically you can extract Vita saves, but you need to take the game data with it and have game data present to synch it back.
